This IS the best supra's I've ever driven in. Let the mods and pictures tell the story. Since owning the car I have dropped a LOT of money into this car, additionally I have spent about 200 hrs cleaning up items. It rocks now! Check my trader points on supraforums, I'm always giving a great price on parts and my other supras, and they are always the highest quality with 100% feedback. Same goes here. I'm selling this car only to purchase a new condo. The quick run down, the car is a 1994 Toyota Supra, it cold starts no issue, it runs E85 for full power, it drives great, it makes around 1100-1200 whp on 36PSI, the 45PSI setting still needs to be tuned and should make 1400 ish. The ProEFI is handling all the fail safes and flex-fuel, which is awesome; you can add in 93 octane or E100 or anything in between, the car will reference the maps, and make adjustments with the fail safes to protect the motor and allow you to drive anywhere!! Clean Carfax. No accidents. The vehicle has been repainted at some point before my ownership. The paint quality is amazing. [B]All VIN stickers are intact. It's AWESOME. Nobody can tell the car has a cage from the outsideThe cage ties in through the subframe, and is welded properly with extra guskets and braces going from the cage through the subframe with angled steel. Makes lifting up the car with a lift or jack very easy and VERY SAFEParachute mount comes through the licenses plate when you remove itSimpson Parachute included with bracing and hardware for quick disconnect attachment (under 2 minutes)Roll Cage has custom padding with leather stitched wrap throughout Additional Details - The car was originally an auto car, that was converted the right way for a 6 speed, no expenses were spared, look at the parts this car has, and the quality of the pictures to understand that statement. The cars odometer reads 78k miles currently, but because confusions in the past the car was marketed previously as 130k miles. I doubt it being all underneath and behind the dash of this car. But I need to disclose both digits. I have the carfax if anyone wants. The Color Can Gauge was recently upgraded to the most modern firmware, but the ECU is on the old version. So the data coming to the Can Gauge right now is not accurate. My tuner said the ECU just needs to be updated to the newest firmware and he recommends a retune at that point. The tune will depend on the altitude, humidity, etc so I much rather this take place in the new state the car is transported to. Having the Can Gauge display the wrong data doesn't screw with the tune at the ECU or any of the fail safes, so the car is 100% running perfect (the videos below is with the new versions loaded, and Can Gauge not displaying the right data) to show how well the car starts, idles, and drives. YouTube's Super Bowl commercial buzz list dominated by automakers [w/videos]

Thu, 31 Jan 2013

After Sunday's big game, YouTube will be the place to watch every commercial that you missed when you left your seat for an emergency guac refill or, as we say in Cleveland, took the Browns to the Super Bowl. That makes YouTube the nation's water cooler on Monday, and it's got some preliminary stats to share in the lead up to kickoff.
As you know, Super Bowl advertisers, particularly automakers, like to endlessly tease their big budget commercials in the weeks before the game, many times revealing them outright days in advance. Because of this, YouTube can tell us which commercials have been viewed the most so far, and their top five list is all automakers.
Kaley Cuoco appears to have been a good investment for Toyota, as her ad for the RAV4 has garnered the most YouTube views - six million and counting - among Super Bowl commercials so far. Second place goes to Mercedes-Benz, though not its actual Super Bowl commercial, but rather the teaser for it. You know, the one with Kate Upton and the car washing, which is up to 5.6 million views. Third place is Audi's Prom commercial (3.3M views), fourth goes to Volkswagen's slightly controversial Get In, Get Happy ad (3.3M views), and the fifth and final spot is bookended by the teaser video for Kaley Cuoco's commercial (3.2M views). You can watch all five in order below.

Scion was slain by Toyota, not the Great Recession

Wed, Feb 3 2016

Scion didn't have to go down like this. Through the magic of hindsight and hubris, it's easier to see what went wrong. And what might have been. What the industry should understand is this: Scion wasn't a losing proposition from the get-go. Its death is due to negligence and apathy. This is more than just the failure of a sub-brand. It's the failure of a company to deliver new and compelling products over an extended period of time. Toyota will point to the Great Recession as the reason it hedged its bets and withdrew funding for new vehicles, instead of using that as an opportunity to redouble efforts. This was as good as a death warrant, although myopically no one realized it at the time. Sadly, GM's Saturn experiment was a road map for this exact form of failure. No one at Toyota seemed to think the Saturn experience was worth protecting their experimental brand from. Or they weren't heard. Brands live and die on product. Somehow, Scion convinced itself that its real success metric was a youthful demographic of buyers. It seems like this was used to gauge the overall health of the brand. Look at the aging and uncompetitive tC, which Scion proudly noted had a 29-year-old average buyer. That fails to take into account its lack of curb appeal and flagging sales. Who cares if the declining number of people buying your cars are younger? Toyota is going to kill the tC thirteen years [And two indifferent generations ... - Ed.] after it was introduced. In that time, Honda has come out with three entirely new generations of the Civic. Scion wasn't a losing proposition from the get-go. Its death is due to negligence and apathy. At launch, the brand could have gone a few different ways. The xB was plucky, interesting, and useful – a tough mix of ephemeral characteristics – but the xA didn't offer much except a thin veneer of self-consciously applied attitude. That's ok; it was cute. Enter the tC, which managed to combine sporty pretensions with decent cost. It took on the Civic Coupe in the contest for coolness, and usually managed to win. More importantly, an explicit brand value early on was a desire to avoid second generations of any of its models, promising a continually evolving and fresh lineup. At this point, the road splits. Down one lane lies the Scion that could have been. After a short but reasonable product lifecycle, it would have renewed the entire lineup.

Owner reflects on his $20.91 Toyota unintended acceleration settlement check

Sat, Nov 29 2014

Where General Motors and Takata have grabbed many auto safety-related headlines this year with their problems with ignition switches and airbag inflators, a few years ago, a similar sort of scrutiny fell on Toyota for unintended acceleration. After multiple settlements with various parties totaling billions of dollars, the issues seem largely behind the Japanese automaker now. Owners are actually starting to receive their money, but it isn't exactly breaking the bank. Payouts are expected to be between $37 and $125 per person. Computer science student Jonathan Sourbeer received a check for just $20.91, and he considers what that money actually means in an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal. Sourbeer's biggest gripe is that the roughly 85 lawyers in the case are receiving $227 million in attorneys' fees and expenses, while the 25 primary plaintiffs and class representatives receive a total of just $395,270. According to the Frequently Asked Questions about the settlement, Toyota set up a $250 million fund to pay affected owners, as well. The money isn't for injuries or damages but for alleged economic loss to the vehicles. However, Sourbeer says he feels no personal suffering and still has the same car. In addition to the settlement, the automaker obviously has its own legal fees to deal with, as well. Sourbeer wonders how this is all going to affect Toyotas in the future. Obviously, the money has to come from somewhere, and it likely gets amortized over the company's vehicles in the coming years to add a few dollars to each one. That puts the problem back onto customers. Anyone involved in a class-action suit has likely seen this happen first hand. The lawyers take a large chunk of the money, and the rest is distributed in tiny morsels to those actually affected. Unfortunately, Sourbeer offers no solutions beyond saying the system needs to change.
