Rare 1992 Toyota Supra Turbo *no Reserve* on 2040-cars
|
Very Rare practically all original Gray Metallic 1992 Toyota Supra Turbo Targa with only 113k original miles. This is a 5-speed manual transmission 3.0L Inline 6 Cylinder Turbo. Only 1193 of the 1992s were produced, and only 1174 being in the United States. This car is very rare car being fully loaded while including the original window sticker as proof of the options. Some of the rare options are a full leather interior package, and an extremely rare sub-woofer. In 1992 Toyota changed the leather interior packaged cars to a nice dark grey (almost black). The sub-woofer was also only offered in 1992. The exterior of the car is in very good shape a solid 9/10. You will know this car has been garaged most of its life when you see it. The interior is in equally great shape. The motor has recently had the head gasket replaced and fitted with ARP studs to once and for all end the head gasket issue that plagues these cars. *Please note that the gasket in this car was never blown prior to the new gasket* During the head gasket change a multitude of maintenance parts have been replaced like the water pump, plugs, ignition wires, all the gaskets from the head up including new turbo gaskets, thermostat, etc..The timing was done at 100,000 miles (13,000 miles ago). This motor runs very well and very strong, as well as the turbo. The drive-train is also in good shape. The previous owner whom I bought the car from was a car dealer in Texas, he used the car as a personal car for a short period of time. During the time he owned it he changed out the gauge cluster bulbs to a red color. This can be reversed to the original color without much effort. The car is on a rebuilt title. To the best of my knowledge Texas is very strict on branding titles, and will automatically brand it a rebuilt/salvage title just for going through an auction. The car has been in an accident many years ago, and the previous owner purchased it at an auction (I'm assuming a dealership only auction). So that hints to me why its a rebuilt title. Because the car drives amazing and straight you would honestly never know it was a rebuilt title, nor would anyone else who will ask you about it. This is a solid car and I wouldn't be asking what I'm asking for it if I didn't know how nice this car looks and drives. I hate to sell it but its time to move on. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to call or text Jacob @ 870-866-0319 I'm available between 10am-12pm MST. |

Toyota recalls 370k Sienna minivans, 10.5k Lexus GS models over separate issues
Thu, 22 May 2014The year of the recall continues, but this time it isn't from General Motors. Toyota is announcing two, separate recalls affecting a pair of its models.
First, Toyota is recalling 370,000 Sienna minivans from the 2004 to 2011 model years that are registered or originally sold in cold-weather states. The problem is that the spare tire carrier assembly cable can be splashed by water contaminated with road salt and cause corrosion. There is a splashguard in place to prevent this, but it sometimes gets lost in "normal usage," according to the company. If the cable does break, then "the spare tire may separate from the vehicle."
This is actually the second repair for this problem for some of these vehicles. In 2010, Toyota issued a recall on 600,000 Siennas from the 1998 to 2010 model years. At the time, it installed a new splashguard and sprayed the area with an anti-rust chemical. However, according to Toyota spokesperson John Hanson speaking to Autoblog, the campaign worked for the 1998 to 2003 models but wasn't sufficient for the newer ones. For the latest recall, the vehicles are getting the entire cable replaced with a stainless steel unit and a new splashguard.
Toyota, Lexus will offer low-cost automated braking system
Mon, Mar 30 2015First, a technology gets better, then it gets a lot better, then it gets less expensive, then it gets a lot less expensive. Advanced driver safety and convenience systems are about to make that last step thanks to Toyota. Centered around a pre-collision braking system, there will be three suites of driver aids known as Toyota Safety Sense C (TSS C) for compact cars, Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS P) for midsized and premium cars, and Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+) for the luxury brand. TSS C pairs a camera with laser radar to provide a pre-collision system that prompts the driver to brake if it detects an impending accident, and can supply additional braking force and automatically brake between seven and fifty miles per hour. There are also Lane Departure Alert and Automatic High Beam. TSS P pairs a camera with more precise millimeter-wave radar. Starting with the three functions in TSS C, it adds pedestrian pre-collision capability and adaptive cruise control. This one will be available first, coming on the new RAV4 Hybrid and Avalon. TSS - either C or P - will expand to three more vehicles by the end of the year. The wallop is in the price: TSS C will be a $300 option, TSS P will cost $500. Compare the Ford Fusion SE, for instance - it's Driver Assistance Package comes with Lane Departure Warning, Automatic High Beams, it has Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot and Cross Traffic Detection that neither TSS has, but doesn't have any autonomous braking feature. It costs $1,200, but requires you to add the Technology and Luxury Packages for a total price of $3,165. If you want Autonomous Cruise Control, that's another $995, for $4,160 in total. Instead of $300 or $500 on the Toyota. Lexus' LSS+ will come first on the new RX then spread to four more models by the end of this year, and cost between $500 and $635 to add as an option. It also uses a camera and millimeter-wave radar for its vehicle and pedestrian pre-collision system, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, automatic high beam, and auto cruise control. The similar package on a BMW X5, with no pedestrian component, is $1,200. Toyota says both safety suites will eventually be on "nearly all" of it products and all trim levels by the end of 2017.
Toyota Prius remains best-selling vehicle in California, wireless charging tests underway
Thu, Feb 20 2014About one in every nine new cars in the US are sold in the California. If we're just looking at the four Toyota Prius hybrid variants, then the number becomes closer to one in three. Tesla Model S battery-electric vehicle sales? Try one in 2.7. For the second straight year, the Prius was the best-selling car in the Golden State. Toyota sold 69,728 Priuses there, almost a third of the more than 234,000 sold in the US in 2013. Prius sales in California alone were up almost 13 percent. And Toyota's ready to build upon that momentum with a new version of the Prius Plug-in Hybrid, saying that it's testing a wireless recharging system in Japan's Aichi Prefecture and will start similar tirals stateside later this year. We'll make the wild prediction that some of those tests, which involves magnetic resonance, will be in California. Meanwhile, Tesla's numbers were, in their own way, were more impressive. The California-based automaker sold 8,347 of its Model S units in the Golden State out of about 22,300 nationwide in 2012, Bloomberg News reports. In all, advanced-powertrain vehicles accounted for 9.3 percent of California new-vehicle sales, compared to 3.8 percent for the country, Bloomberg says, citing Hybrid Cars and Baum & Associates. Check out Toyota's press release on its California sales below. Prius Medals In The Golden State Toyota Prius is best-selling vehicle line in California Wireless charging testing for Prius Plug-in TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Prius took home the gold in 2013 as the most popular vehicle-line in California for the second year in a row. The Prius Family (Prius Liftback, Prius v, Prius c and Prius Plug-in) took the podium in both 2012 and 2013 as the best-selling California vehicle name plate. 69,728 drivers hit the road in 2013, according to the California Auto Outlook Report, while 61,893 Californians joined the family in 2012. In the Golden State, the Prius Family outsells all other hybrid competitors combined. California drivers lead the country in adoption of vehicles powered, either wholly or partially, by electricity. 9.3% of vehicles sold in the state run on some form of electricity, according to the report. But despite the growing number of hybrid competitors, Toyota's hybrid leadership remains unmatched. In fact, one out of every two hybrids in California carries the Prius name plate.
