This auction is for a 1989 Toyota Supra as a project car.  It does start and drive but overheats rapidly.  May need new engine.  Leaks oil between block and head.  Radiator also has a leak.  Air conditioner is not working.  There is a dent in the passenger door and fender.  Passenger door still opens but will need to be fixed.  Scrap in front corner passenger of fender. Clear coat is peeling.  Rubber seals on doors, hatchback and sport top need to be replaced.  Slight separation in driver's seat on door side.

Transmission and the rest of the car is in good shape.  New tires.  This was my father's car that I bought from his estate in 1996. I had plans to restore it but have to many irons in the fire and can't watch it just sit.  I have done my best to list all of the issues with this car. As far as I know the rest of the car is sound.  Parts are easy to find.  I have the Chilton's repair manual.  Custom car cover included.  Would like a responsible person to bring it to it's full glory.  Fun car to drive.  Please ask any questions before bidding.

Honda, Subaru airlifting parts to bypass port labor diputes

Fri, Feb 6 2015

It should be abundantly obvious that a vital element in building cars is actually having the components on hand to assemble them. A labor dispute on the West Coast between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and management is not making that quite so easy for some Japanese automakers. Work slowdowns at the ports have pushed Honda and Subaru parent Fuji Heavy Industries into flying some parts into the country. The two automakers began shipping by airplane late last month to avoid production delays, according to Bloomberg, but it has been an expensive solution. Subaru's chief financial officer said the decision cost around $60 million more per month than sending components by cargo ship. They aren't the only companies dealing with the problem, either. Toyota reportedly stopped overtime assembly at some of its factories here because of the delays in getting parts, according to Bloomberg. The dockworkers have been negotiating on a new contract since May 2014, and the current offer on the table to them has offered a 3 percent raise, according to Bloomberg. Although, the union is reportedly considering another slowdown at 29 ports along the West Coast in the coming days. Subaru Indiana plant to stop building Toyota Camry

Fri, 15 Nov 2013

Subaru may be set to end production of the Toyota Camry at its Lafayette, IN facility by 2017, according to a report from the Louisville Journal-Courier and a CBS affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina. Speaking to the plant's Executive Vice President Tom Easterday, the whole affair sounds like a done deal.
"Based on changes in Toyota's production plans, they have decided that the award-winning Camry production contract will not be renewed," Easterday said. Easterday was quick to emphasize that just because Camry production would end, doesn't mean jobs will be lost. "There will be no loss of jobs at SIA as a result of this," he said, before adding that the loss of Camry production will have no impact Subaru's $400 million investment to ready the plant for Impreza production in 2016. That said, adding a promised 900 jobs may take longer than originally planned, as Camry production staff are set to be retrained on Subaru production.
SIA currently has the capacity to produce 100,000 Camrys per year, and began production of the family sedan in 2007 alongside production of the Subaru Outback, Legacy and eventually, the soon-to-be-discontinued Tribeca.

Toyota to drop regular-cab Tacoma as small pickups take another hit

Fri, 02 Aug 2013

Even as General Motors prepares to redesign its midsize pickups, the market for sub-fullsize trucks continues to shrink. The remaining competitors in the segment are the well-aged Nissan Frontier, Honda Ridgeline and Toyota Tacoma, and now Truck Trend is reporting that the latter will be dropping its regular cab model due to poor sales.
According to the article, the available configurations for the Tacoma lineup will be whittled down in 2015, which apparently spells the end for the two-door Taco. The Tacoma is currently the last truck in its class to be offered in a regular cab configuration, with the Frontier no longer offering a standard cab model and spy shots of the next-gen Chevrolet Colorado not revealing any glimpse of a short cab, either.
