I'm selling my 1992 Toyota Previa AWD. Its has been my daily driver for close to three years now. I have put just a little bit under $3000 in parts to revive this van. The Engine and Transmission are both running very strong and have never let me down. Mechanically, this van is sound. Parts replaced:

2 New front struts
2 new front sway bar links
4 (one Year old) Micheling Hydro Edge All Season Tires (215/70/15)
2 New front rotors
all 4 wheel disc break pads have been replaces in the past 6 months
New Front break lines
Brand New Bosch HD (1600 W) Starter
2 Year old Header back exhaust, catalytic converter and gaskets
Power steering pump has been replaced
New cooling thermostat
2 year old 02 sensors and gaskets
Rad Core replaced and flushed
New Distributor
New Distributor Cap
New Spark Plug Wires
New Spark Plugs
New PCV Valve
New Valve cover gaskets and seals
And more.

The Van has never let me down. It has been my daily driver for nearly three years now. I Replaced my van with a truck so I no longer need it. It would make a great parts van especially with all the new parts that were put in it. It will need some front ball joints; and some frame rust fixed to safety. The rear middle middle seat is missing, the fenders been fixed with bondo and painted with bed liner. The frame has some rust on it and would need a little bit of rocker panel work. The factory AM/FM radio has been put back in put is not wired due to not having the wiring harness and the speakers have been removed.

This van is definitely not a lemon or a piece of junk, it is one of the best minivans ever built in my opinion and it wouldn't surprise me to see it go over 500,000 km.

Email me for more information.

Toyota calling for independent, industry-wide Takata airbag testing

Wed, Dec 3 2014

The initiative is still very new, and there's no set timeframe for this third-party testing to begin. With Takata's airbag inflator recall expanding nationwide soon, the scope of this safety campaign is only growing, and is set to affect millions of additional vehicles. Toyota thinks that it can help, though. The Japanese automaker has announced an initiative to get all of the affected companies to band together to fund independent, third-party testing of the faulty components. The goal of this work is to "ensure the inflators that require replacement are accurately identified and promptly fixed," according to Toyota. All of the data would be shared among the participating automakers to better understand the causes of these problems, which still aren't entirely known, and come up with the best way to repair the affected vehicles. "By combining our collective efforts behind a coordinated, comprehensive testing program, we believe we can achieve greater results. Together we will be better equipped to address this issue more rapidly for all customers," said Simon Nagata, President and CEO, Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing North America, in the company's release. According to Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight speaking to Autoblog, the initiative is still very new, and there's no set timeframe for this third-party testing to begin. The automaker's first step is simply getting the word out that it's looking for partners. She said Toyota "has spoken with colleagues in the industry" about setting up the independent evaluations and specifically said the company has already reached out to Honda and Ford about possibly working together on this. Honda also released a statement calling for similar third party testing, and when reached for comment about Toyota's proposal, Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker responded: "Ford takes the safety of our customers very seriously. We plan to join the proposed industry wide effort to investigate and develop solutions to address this critical issue. We look forward to discussing next steps with NHTSA and other automakers." Scroll down to read Toyota and Honda's full announcements of these safety initiative.

Toyota produces millionth truck in Texas

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

After going online in 2006, Toyota's San Antonio, Texas truck plant has just built its one-millionth vehicle, the 2014 Tundra 1794 Edition you see above. The plant originally focused on just the Tundra pickup, but the smaller Tacoma started rolling off the line there in 2010, as well.
Fittingly, the 1794 Edition (a new premium trim level for 2014) pays homage to the property on which the Toyota plant now resides - a ranch that was founded in 1794. Scroll down for the official press release for the plant's milestone, and be sure to check out the full gallery of Tundra 1794 Edition images as well.

Toyota Mirai hydrogen car on sale in Europe by end of summer

Fri, Mar 6 2015

Want to see Toyota hydrogen fuel cell vehicles cruising down the Autobahn? It could happen as soon as September. Benz and Bimmer drivers, beware. The Japanese automaker, which started hometown sales of its hydrogen fuel-cell electric Mirai in December, will expand distribution of its first mass-produced fuel-cell car to Europe by September. The first three countries Toyota is targeting are the UK, Denmark and Germany, and the price will be 66,000 euros ($73,000). The caveat, of course, is that this is going to be a low-volume affair (a maximum of 100 cars per year for this year and next) and that the rest of the Continent won't get the Mirai until 2017. Toyota, which is showing off the Mirai at the Geneva Motor Show, will start California deliveries of the Mirai later this year, pricing it at $57,500 for those who want to buy and $499 a month for those who prefer to lease. Toyota also said in January that it would bump Mirai production to about 2,000 units in 2016, up from 700 this year. Toyota is spending about $168 million for that production increase, necessitated in part by the European plans. The Mirai delivers 153 horsepower and has goodies such as lane-departure alerts and collision-avoidance systems, along with the zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell powertrain, of course. Check out Toyota's press release below. The Geneva motor show is its first public display in Europe. The Mirai2 signals the start of a new age of vehicles. Using hydrogen - an important future energy source - as fuel to generate electricity, the Mirai achieves superior environmental performance with the convenience and driving pleasure expected of any car. The Mirai uses the Toyota Fuel Cell System (TFCS), which features both fuel cell technology and hybrid technology, and includes Toyota's new proprietary FC Stack and high-pressure hydrogen tanks. The TFCS is more energy efficient than internal combustion engines and emits no CO2 or pollutants when driven. Drivers can also expect the same level of convenience as offered by gasoline engine vehicles, with a generous cruising range and a hydrogen refuelling time of about three minutes3.
