Selling our 2000 Toyota land cruiser
Kids are grown up no longer need the large soccer vehicle.. i am the second owner i have owned the truck for the past 10/11 years no accidents never once broke down or left me stranded. very well built suv, built to last.. no major damage just the typical scuffs dents and chips minor flaws of a 14 year old vehicle. inside could use a good cleaning and conditioning outside a good waxing .. The drivers seat has a broken stitch that has been somewhat repaired to stop any further un-stitching.. could be professionally repaired. see picture. could use a new steering wheel cover also not ripped just worn .. The rear wiper doesn't work i don't know why? it has not worked ever since i have owned it.. The truck also need a new front fog light$40 on ebay . went through and tested everything. The moon roof wont retract. This is something we haven't opened in years. The motor starts to turn then stops. According to the Toyota forum, what is happening is since we never use it the drop down linkage is not dropping down making the end switch and allowing the motor to keep running.. it needs to be lubed or the end switch went bad... i have always done the normal maintenance on the car. oil fluids plugs and so on a coil pack or two over the years. tires have always worn very even so i never have to rotate. ..They could use a re-balancing..antenna wont retract fully, but it goes up and down see pic .. New starter installed in 2008... rear Shocks and all brake calipers, Tires and rims replaced with new style Toyota 18 inch alloys in 2010/2011. rotors and break pads were replaced in 2013. muffler exhaust and flex pipe replaced 2014..The land cruiser runs and drives great no issues a very reliable.all the safety features work abs traction control anti skid, nothing illuminated on the dash that shouldn't be.. AC works great front and rear never once had to recharge it. also includes the third row of seats. also has automatic start. By far the safest vehicle i have ever owned, amassing in the snow. Its actually hard to try and make the car fish tale or get the tires to spin it just wont let you.. I was told for $200 i cold get a full detailing to make it show better but figured why.. not trying to hiding anything 100% honest . title in hand. would prefer a local buyer but will ship buyer pays and procures arrangements. auction may end early due to local listing also. |

Toyota announces new, more efficient powertrains for 60 percent of its vehicles by 2021
Tue, Dec 6 2016In the face of increasingly strict standards on fuel economy and CO2 emissions, Toyota announced today that it's introducing a new hybrid system, a new 2.5-liter direct-injection inline four-cylinder engine, and two new transmissions – an eight- and a 10-speed. The development of all of these components will be based around the Toyota New Global Architecture, or TNGA. Development of the systems has moved forward and the new powertrains will find their way into vehicles starting next year. TNGA, like Mazda's Skyactiv technology, is a complete design philosophy that focuses on more than just a clean or efficient engine. The first vehicle to deploy the TNGA platform was the current, fourth-generation Prius. With TNGA, Toyota focused on improving handling, ride, and braking performance. The new powertrains are meant to compliment this new platform by being both engaging to drive and fuel efficient. Since TNGA can be adapted for front-, rear-, or all-wheel-drive layouts, it's capable of underpinning a number of potential products. Toyota is arguably the leader in hybrid technology, and taking lessons learned in the development of the current Prius, the automaker has developed the new Toyota Hybrid System II, or THS-II, for rear-wheel-drive applications. Performance has improved versus the outgoing model, and Toyota says efficiency, especially at high speeds, has been improved. In addition, the system's use in plug-in vehicles has been improved. For the first time, the electric motor will be able to provide direct driving power, whereas before it simply acted as a generator. The new, naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder, like the THS-II, has been designed around the TNGA platform. Most notably, the thermal efficiency of the engine has been improved. This means a higher output and improved exhaust and cooling. The new engine, which works in both traditional and hybrid applications, will proliferate through the Toyota and Lexus lineup. Toyota's two new automatic transmissions, like the new engines, are based on the TNGA system. That means a lighter and more compact design relative to similar transmissions. The 10-speed is intended for rear-wheel-drive Lexus products like the GS and LS. The tuning has been adjusted to improve response and smooth out shifts, though it's impossible to say how much it's been improved without getting behind the wheel.
This Japanese ad for the Toyota Prius Plug In is beyond confusing
Fri, Jun 20 2014We'll admit we don't understand all of this strange little ad for the Toyota Prius Plug In (our Japanese skills are not what they once were) but that just makes it all the more fascinating. The takeaway point is that a world full of PHEV Priuses will be astonishingly colorful at time and exciting, with food being delivered by a neck plug. Or something like that. We recommend clicking below and just watching the 60-second spot (and the short making-of video) but if you'd rather read here's what we have figured out: There's some airline-pilot type guy who is visited by who he calls his sister. The voiceover says she's some kind of saleswoman, and she begins to talk up the plug-in Prius alongside the J-Pop group AKB48 Team 8, telling the crowd – including a man in a big, round bird mask – how easy it is to plug in. The old man watching the J-Pop girls tells the woman next to him, "I have their CD." Then we see the original duo back home and the guy says he's hungry before plugging in a blue energy wire. The same wire that then starts charging a Prius. That may not really clarify anything, but there you have it. Watch for yourself below. At the very least, we won't confuse this ad for one from another automaker. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Toyota goofs again in latest Mirai fuel cell ad
Mon, Mar 9 2015In the "gotcha" culture engendered by social media and viral campaigns, it looks like Toyota got, well, got. The Japanese automaker is starting a campaign for its Mirai fuel-cell vehicle, and included a line about the fact that the car "breathes in air." Of course, all light-duty vehicles do that, as Jalopnik's Opposite Lock happily pointed out. Jalopnik added that even electric vehicles have an air intake for their heat exchangers. Oops. It looks like Toyota doesn't think this message is wrong, since the image is still up on the company's Google+ page. The Mirai can still lay claim to something that may impress the layman in that it emits only water vapor from its tailpipe. It's a pitch Toyota started making to Americans last November when the company said it would start Mirai sales this year in California. Toyota's charging an MSRP of $57,500 for those looking to buy the car outright or a three-year lease rate of $499 a month for 36 months (with $3,649 due at signing) for those to want to lease the car. Toyota also said in January that it would ramp up Mirai production to about 2,000 vehicles in 2016 from about 700 this year, as it expands distribution into Europe and the US. In the US, refueling the hydrogen will be free. Just like the chemistry lesson from Opposite Lock. Related Videos:
