NO Rust and New paint. see more below..."

What you see is what you get. I bought this about two years ago for a Toy but have never used it other than driving around the block a few times. It has NO RUST and was freshly painted just before I got it and it has been stored INDOORS since. Its starts right up and runs strong. Shifts smoothly thru all gears. All lights work but I think the turn signals need a flasher box (relay).

NO SMOG!! SMOG EXEMPT!!  NO SMOG!! SMOG EXEMPT!!  NO SMOG!! SMOG EXEMPT!!  NO SMOG!! SMOG EXEMPT!!

It has a new roll bar and a new bimini top that I bought for it.

This has been a California vehicle its whole life and I have the original CA plate that came with it and I'm pretty sure if you buy it and live in CA you can use it. In fact CA now has vintage plate program at the DMV which will allow you to get spankin' new plates to replace the original "vintage" style! .

I bought this on ebay and I'm in Encinitas, CA. I picked it up just five miles from here in Carlsbad, CA, but the funny thing is the guy who bought it before me was a dealer in Colorado. The vehicle never left CA, but the paper work was sent to him in CO and he had the title put in his  name in CO. Anyway, just wanted to disclose that info, but the title is Free and Clear and can be transferred to any state.

The wind screen glass is cracked and its frame is slightly bent. Small dent in front center of hood. bumper has typical bends on ends. winch was removed. driver seat has tear (see photos).

Rear bed swing doors missing, but I do have a set that are in excellent condition. I will include them with this auction to the winner if interested.

Comes with spare tire and matching wheel (rim).

it has only one oil (drip) that I know about and its the typical rear main seal I believe and it is not an issue, especially for its age. very minor.

This is a classic 42 year old vehicle that is in great shape for its age and has a lot of potential or can just be driven as is.

This is a used vehicle sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied.

Pleas ask questions or schedule a time to come have a look if you want.

I really hate to sell it but I just don't have the time to use it and she needs a great home so she can play as she's ready and willing!

Thanks for looking and Best of Luck Bidding!

Toyota Tells Dealers To Stop Selling Six Models

Thu, Jan 30 2014

Toyota has told North American dealers to stop selling six popular models with heated seats because the fabric doesn't meet flammability standards. One soft material beneath the seat covers does not comply with U.S. safety standards, company spokesman John Hanson said. No fires or injuries have been reported, but Toyota can't legally sell cars that don't comply with U.S. safety codes, Hanson said. The company is still totaling how many vehicles are affected, but it will be in the thousands, according to the spokesman. The stop-sale order could mean trouble for Toyota and its dealers because it covers the company's top-selling vehicles. Dealers can no longer sell certain Camry, Avalon, Sienna and Tacoma models from the 2013 and 2014 model years, as well as Corollas and Tundras from 2014. The Camry, for instance, is the top-selling car in the U.S. with more than 408,000 sales last year. It depends on how long the repairs will take. Hanson said the company already has a new material that's being installed at factories and will be put in cars that are on dealer lots. "We don't think it will take long to get the parts and make the changes," Hanson said, without getting more specific. As for vehicles already on the road, Hanson says Toyota has reported the problem to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which will decide if the sold vehicles should be recalled. A NHTSA spokesman said he would check into the matter. "We don't believe that there is a safety issue here because there have been no reports of any problems," Hanson said. The stop-sale order affects cars and trucks distributed to dealers in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. In addition, some vehicles were exported outside North America, Hanson said. The problem was discovered by safety regulators in South Korea, who disassembled seats and tested individual fabrics, Hanson said. U.S. safety standards require fabrics to resist flames at a certain rate, but the one fabric didn't meet the standard, Hanson said. Toyota spokesman Naoki Sumino in Japan said the affected vehicles were sold since August of 2012, when the fabric supplier was changed. Toyota has been struggling to regain its once sterling reputation for quality after announcing massive recalls over several years, starting in 2009, for a variety of defects including braking, accelerators and floor mats. The company was fined for being slow on recalls, which affected more than 14 million vehicles, and faces lawsuits.

Question of the Day: What (non-Skyline) JDM car to import?

Wed, Apr 13 2016

I have been looking into the idea of bringing a four-wheel-drive kei van over from Japan, something like a Honda Street or perhaps even a Mitsubishi Minicab Bravo Route 66, and so I have been researching the various bureaucratic hoops I must jump through in order to bring such a car into my state (Colorado). When I finally tracked down the state official who knew the answers, his very first words were "OK, so what year Skyline do you want to register here?" Yes, Nissan's not-sold-over-here factory-hot-rod of the 1980s and 1990s is what gets shipped over most often, but there are other worthy JDM vehicles. Say, for example, a stunning 1990 Mitsuoka Le Seyde (above), which was far classier than the Excalibur and based on the sporty S13 Nissan Silvia, aka 240SX. Of course, the king of JDM cars is the mighty Toyota Century, and you can get nice legal-to-import examples for reasonable prices. No, you can't get the V12 Century legally – yet; the V12-powered cars don't hit the 25-year-old mark until 2022. So, what's your choice for a 1991 or earlier Japanese-market car to import, assuming that the Skyline is off the table?
