1997 Toyota Land Cruiser 4.5l 4x4 on 2040-cars
Monroe, Washington, United States
| Pretty much your standard Land Cruiser. Just in better shape than most I feel. Carfax says brakes were done at around 204,000 miles at Meineke. What I've done: New belts, Tires, 17" Toyota wheels, 1.5 inch wheel spacers all around. New wool seat covers. New floor mats. New remotes. New drivers seat belt. The old one was lazy and chaffed from getting stuck in the door. New one snaps back crisply. New shocks come with car but not installed. Always been my second car. Starts right up every time. Engine is smooth and quiet. No leaks or burning of any fluids. No overheating. No funky idling. Accelerates as it should. Shifts as it should. Brakes as it should. No rattling from inside or outside the cabin. No exhaust leaks. Transfer case works as it should. No water in oil or vive versa. Drives straight down the road with the fingertips of one hand. Cruise control works. A/C blows ice cold. Heater blows warm, dry and fresh air. HVAC fan works on all 4 speeds. Windows all go up and down. Antenna goes up and down. All doors unlock with new remotes. New remotes do not have panic button. Paint shines like few others of its age. Sunroof does not leak. Very little wear on steering wheel and shifter leather suggests (to me), its been driven mostly on the freeway. I never towed with this car. No smoke or pet odors. No excessive air released from fuel tank upon cap removal. Looking under the car, there is very little rust. really just the running board brackets have surface rust. A lift kit would be easy to install. No rusty nuts and bolts. We don't salt our roads. Can only find two small door dings after 16 years! None of the 4 rock chips in the windshield are in the drivers line of sight to the road. Just passed emissions and is licensed until 3/15. Easy, fun, and a pleasure to drive. Always titled in Washington state. I bought this from the second owner who lived in Kirkland, WA. His story was that this was the car he used while attending OSU for an engineering degree. He looked the part, and the car had some OSU swag on it. He used this info to articulate how well the car was cared for by an engineering student. First owner is a was The manufacturer, as with all cars. I just traded in my daily driver Prius for a Tacoma 4X4. Don't need this anymore. Personal items not included in sale. Camp gear, Club, cleaning products. $500 deposit within 24 hours of end of auction. Local pickup in Monroe, WA. No warranty. One pictures is an ebay stock photo I could not delete. |

Fernando Alonso will drive for McLaren in F1, Toyota at Le Mans, WEC
Tue, Jan 30 2018Fernando Alonso will drive for Toyota in this year's Le Mans 24-hour race and the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), his McLaren Formula One team said on Tuesday. The Spanish double F1 world champion has been considering taking part in endurance events as he bids to emulate Graham Hill, the late Briton who won the Formula One world title, Indianapolis 500 and Le Mans in the 1960s. "I've never been shy about my aim of winning motorsport's Triple Crown — the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indy 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. We tried for Indy last year, came close, but just missed out," Alonso said in a statement. "This year, I have the chance thanks to McLaren to race for the win at Le Mans. It is a big challenge — much can go wrong — but I am ready, prepared and looking forward to the fight." Following his appearance in the 24 Hours of Daytona last week, a deal has been reached with Toyota for the 36-year-old Alonso to take part in as many WEC rounds as possible. McLaren and Alonso have agreed, however, that Formula 1 remains their shared priority and he will miss the Japanese leg of the WEC season on Oct. 21 due to it clashing with the U.S. Formula One Grand Prix. Toyota spotlights Amy Purdy in new ad ahead of Super Bowl
Tue, Jan 27 2015The Super Bowl is still days away, but companies can't seem to help revealing their spots ahead of the big game. We already know a little of what Toyota, Mercedes-Benz and BMW have in store for us, and now the Japanese automaker is premiering one of its inspiring commercials for the refreshed 2015 Camry. The ad stars Paralympic snowboarder and former Dancing with the Stars contestant Amy Purdy as she works through life's difficulties to succeed. Titled How Great I Am, the true highlight of the commercial is the rousing and humorous speech from Muhammad Ali over the action that fits the theme of perseverance perfectly. While this spot is supposed to run before the Super Bowl actually begins, Toyota also has another ad for the second quarter of the game showing fathers and their children. It's all part of the brand's One Bold Choice campaign for the updated sedan.
