UP FOR AUCTION IS MY 1992 LAND CRUISER WITH ONLY 84,500 MILES.  THIS VEHICLE SPENT MOST OF IT'S LIFE AS A VACATION HOME VEHICLE WHERE IT RECEIVED ALL OF IT'S REGULAR SERVICE AND WAS DRIVEN VERY LITTLE.  THE NEXT OWNER WAS MY BEST FRIEND WHO ONLY SOLD IT TO ME BECAUSE HE BOUGHT AN OLDER LAND CRUISER THAT HE CONVERTED TO BIO DIESEL.  SO HERE I AM, THE PROUD OWER OF THIS GREAT SUV.  THE ONLY REASON I'M SELLING THIS IS BECAUSE I HAVE A COMPANY VEHICLE AND MY WIFE AND I NEED THE MONEY TO BUILD A NEW HOUSE.  I HAVE ALWAYS DRIVEN TOYOTAS AND I USE THE BEST TOYOTA TECH IN THE STATE TO SERVICE MY VEHICLES (MCINTOSH IMPORTS IN MT. PLEASANT, SC).  HE WENT THROUGH MY LAND CRUISER AND SAID IT DOESN'T NEED A THING.  I TRUST THIS GUY SO MUCH THAT I DRIVE 2 HRS TO HIS SHOP WHEN I NEED SOMETHING DONE.  HE'S SO HONEST YOU COULD PLAY POKER WITH HIM ON THE PHONE.

HERE IS WHAT WAS ALREADY DONE TO IT:
-NEW OEM SHOCKS
-COMPLETE FRONT AXLE REBUILD -BY A LAND CRUISER TECH (ALL OLDER LAND CRUISERS NEED THIS DONE)
-NEW FUEL FILLER PIPE -DONE BY A LAND CRUISER TECH
-NEW PREMIUM STEREO, SPEAKERS, AND AMPLIFIER ADDED -WORK DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL AUDIO SHOP
-A/C CONVERSION TO R134 -DONE BY A LAND CRUISER TECH
-BRAKE SYSTEM REDONE BY A LAND CRUISER TECH.

I WOULD LITERALLY DRIVE THIS THING ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT.  IT RUNS/DRIVES EXCELLENT AND HAS NO MECHANICAL ISSUES.  EVERYTHING WORKS AS IT SHOULD AND I DON'T THINK YOU WILL EVER FIND A NICER CRUISER WITH THIS LOW MILAGE.

THE INTERIOR IS PRETTY MUCH SPOTLESS.  THERE ARE NO STAINS IN THE UPHOLSTERY AND IT HAS NEVER BEEN SMOKED IN.  THERE IS ONE SMALL SEPARATION OF FARBIC AT A SEEM ON THE DOOR SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT.  IT'S AN EASY FIX AND IS ONLY THE SIZE OF A NICKEL.  THE FLOOR CARPET IS SPOTLESS.  YOU CAN EASILY SEE THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF.

THE ONLY THING THIS VEHICLE NEEDS IS A NEW PAINT JOB.  DON'T GET ME WRONG, IT DOESN'T LOOK TERRIBLE, BUT IT'S A 22 YEAR OLD PAINT JOB.  IT'S NOT BAD ENOUGH TO EMBARRASS YOUR KIDS IF YOU DRIVE THEM TO SCHOOL IN IT BUT IT'S THE ONLY THING KEEPING IT FROM BEING AN ABSOLUTE "10".  IF I END UP KEEPING IT I WILL PAINT IT SOMETIME IN THE NEXT 2 YEARS.  THERE ARE NO DENTS OR BODY ISSUES.  THE FRAME IS RUST FREE.

THIS IS THE MODEL WITH THE DIFFERENTIAL LOCK BUTTON ON THE DASH (E-LOCKER) THAT IS VERY DESIRABLE ON THESE VEHICLES.

TIRES HAVE APPROX 70% OF THEIR TREAD REMAINING.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL ME AT 803-944-0776

MILEAGE WILL CHANGE AS I DRIVE THIS VEHICLE APPROX 1 DAY PER WEEK.

I STARTED OF THE BID PRETTY LOW AND THERE IS NO RESERVE!  BID AWAY!

VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN THE COLUMBIA SC AREA.

Aston Martin will race the Valkyrie hypercar at Le Mans in 2021

Fri, Jun 14 2019

Aston Martin will challenge for outright victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours race in 2021 with its Valkyrie hypercar, the British luxury sportscar maker announced on Friday after race organizers rewrote the rules. The governing FIA, who oversee the World Endurance Championship, and race organizers Automobile Club de L'Ouest, revealed earlier that hypercar derivatives would replace prototypes as the top category starting in the 2020-21 season. Aston Martin will field two works Valkyries, powered by V12 normally-aspirated engines, as part of a multi-year commitment to a championship currently dominated by Japanese manufacturer Toyota. The announcement comes 60 years after Aston Martin's sole overall triumph at Le Mans in 1959 with Britain's Roy Salvadori and American Carroll Shelby. Le Mans winner Toyota, meanwhile, has committed to staying in the WEC after 2020 subsequent to the hypercar rules. The Japanese manufacturer said in a statement before this weekend's race at Le Mans' Sarthe circuit that it would continue in 2021 with a hybrid-powered prototype based on the GR Super Sport road car. Track testing of the new car will begin next year. Defending champions Toyota will start on pole position on Saturday after sweeping the front row in qualifying for the third year in succession. "This new era of competition is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate our credentials not only as a race team against some of the best in the business, but also as a sportscar manufacturer," said Toyota Gazoo president Shigeki Tomoyama. The 2021 Le Mans will also be the 100th anniversary of Aston's first entry at the Circuit de la Sarthe. "I think you'd say from the brand's point of view, there's a little bit of unfinished business to be done," Group Chief Executive Andy Palmer told Reuters. Top Formula One designer Adrian Newey, who has won championships with Williams, McLaren and Red Bull, helped create the Valkyrie. The limited edition road legal version costs in the region of 2.5 million pounds ($3.17 million). "We don't under-estimate the difficulty of an outright win at Le Mans and you never under-estimate the tenacity and resources of Toyota," said Palmer. "On the other hand, we're not coming just to make up the numbers. We're coming here to give it a bloody good shot." Palmer said the new regulations would significantly reduce the costs of competing, without giving details about the likely budget, and hoped commercial rivals McLaren and Ferrari would take up the challenge.

Toyota promoting Mirai as if hydrogen tax credit never went away

Wed, Jan 28 2015

At the end of December, the US federal government let the $8,000 tax credit for hydrogen-powered vehicles expire. Despite this little wrinkle, Toyota is still promoting the upcoming 2016 Mirai fuel cell vehicle as a car that will cost under $50,000. In some cases a lot less, since it may also qualify for a $5,000 incentive in California. The car has a $57,500 MSRP, but Nihar Patel, vice president of North American Business Strategy for Toyota Motor Sales, spoke at the 2015 Washington Auto Show last week, and said that the Mirai could cost $44,500 in California. You can see this in the video at around minute four. Toyota knows that the federal incentives have expired, since the real news from the show was Patel's public request to the federal government that the $8,000 tax credit be extended. "We think that the federal credit expiration last year puts [hydrogen] customers in a fairly disadvantageous postion," he said. Plug-in vehicle buyers can still get up to $7,500 tax credit and, "we believe that this inequity needs to be fixed," he said. You can see this in the video at minute 10:20. Toyota said including both the after-incentives price and the call to reinstate those incentives was intentional since it shows a discrepancy between hydrogen and plug-in vehicles in the eyes of the feds. We asked Toyota's director of Energy and Environmental Research, Technical and Regulatory Affairs, Robert Wimmer, for more details on Toyota's request. "[The Mirai] being a ZEV and battery electrics also being ZEVs, we just want to make the playing field as level as possible," he said, adding that any extension would last "for the run of the vehicle," which would be three years. He admitted that the extension might only be for one or two years, if it happens at all. (A Toyota spokesperson clarified to AutoblogGreen that the Mirai program will not end after three years.) And that's the problem. "The tax process is difficult to predict," he said. "The two challenges we have now are that both houses of Congress are Republican and also that there has been talk for a while about comprehensive tax reform. If that moves forward, then extenders would probably be put on the back burner as comprehensive tax reform is discussed." Wimmer would not reveal any details about how Toyota is pressuring the government to act, only saying that Toyota's has people lobbying up on Capitol Hill.

Toyota says you might have the 40-millionth Corolla ever built

Sat, 07 Sep 2013

The guy who bought the 50-millionth Toyota in the US got a free Camry and RAV4, but whoever in the world bought the 40-millionth Corolla in August gets a hearty "thank you" from the Japanese automaker. On sale since 1966, the Corolla is the best-selling nameplate in the world by a goodly margin (more than the Volkswagen Beetle and Ford Model T combined). So while you'd think that vehicle number 40 million would be sitting in a museum somewhere, Toyota can't even say in which country this milestone Corolla was sold, let alone to which customer.
One reason that Toyota is unsure where this Corolla was sold is the fact that the Corolla name itself is more than just the compact sedan sold in the US. On our shores alone, sales of the Matrix are lumped in with the Corolla, but around the world, numerous vehicles wear the Corolla name or share its platform. Scroll down for Toyota's press release, and it has also put together a website celebrating 47 years and 40 million sales for the Corolla... and counting.
