1989 TOYOTA FJ 62 LANDCRUISER,i am second owner of vehichle.Selling because i purchased a newer one.I have replaced the front brakes and rotors, rear brakes and wheel cylinders, put a new clarion stereo with cd,remote and usb port, new memphis speakers all in the last year.I replaced the front shocks with rough country shocks, updated the a.c unit so it blows ice cold, new sway bar links, new battery, new class 3 trailer hitch and wiring harness, and had color matched rock guard sprayed on rocker panels and lower quarter panels.vehichle comes with 2 sets of tires.winter tires are mastercraft courser m/t with 80-90% left and summer tires are michelins with 50% tread left and two new headlights and a thule roof rack for canoes and kayaks.T hose are all the good things about cruiser..The only things wrong with cruiser is the surface rust on tailgate, dash board cracks, and the broken turn lense on running light, you can see both in photos. The check engine light is on also,i took it in to mechanic and its throwing a code 22 which is a water sensor. The part costs around 50.00 and can be replaced in less than half hour.Engine runs great and tranny shifts fine.I have had zero problems with this cruiser and hate to see it go.I just dont drive it enough to keep it around and would like someone else to appreciate owning a such a fun vehichle.I would rate this cruiser a 8.5 on a 10 scale.

Why Toyota Camry's Korea Car of the Year win is a big-time upset

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

The 2013 Toyota Camry is officially the car of the year in Korea. The country's motoring press graced the Japanese sedan with the honor for the first time, officially marking a shift in prevailing Korean attitudes toward Japan and its products. According to industry analysts, buyers in the country are no longer simply choosing their purchases based on whether or not they're made in South Korea, but rather based on quality and personal choice. That's a big jump from a few years ago, when buyers viewed their purchases through a patriotic lens.
The Camry managed to edge out a total of 44 other cars, including hardware from both Hyundai and Kia, to become the first foreign vehicle to take home the Korea Automobile Journalist Association's Car of the Year award. As The Detroit News points out, just 10 years ago, domestic manufacturers held some 99 percent of the Korean car market. But a change in trade regulations has opened up the country considerably, and buyers now have access to a wide range of products from around the globe. As a result, Hyundai and Kia have countered by cutting prices in an attempt to keep their grip on the market.

Toyota sells off Tesla shares, too

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

The incredible rise of Tesla's stock price has done little to now stop two major shareholders from ditching their stake in the American EV manufacturer. First, Daimler, parent company of Mercedes-Benz, ditched its four-percent stake, and less than a week later, Toyota is doing the same thing, selling off an undisclosed bit of its Tesla investment.
The move comes as Toyota winds down sales of the RAV4 EV, which gets its batteries and electric motor from Tesla at the company's Fremont, CA factory.
"We have a good relationship with Tesla, and will evaluate the feasibility of working together on future projects," Toyota spokesperson Kayo Doi told Bloomberg via email.

Watch this video diary of a 900-hp Toyota Supra build

Sat, 08 Jun 2013

If you've ever looked at a car with nearly 1,000 horsepower and wondered why anyone needs that amount of thrust, you may want to take a look at the video below. In it, one gentleman details his descent into Toyota Supra madness, starting with a pristine factory example and stumbling down the rabbit hole of modification. What makes this particular clip interesting is just how honest the owner is as he explains the evolution of his car. He doesn't just prattle off a list of parts like he's reading the menu at an IHOP.
Instead, he painstakingly pulls us through the car's growth, detailing each iteration and what pushed him to the next stage of the build every time. From this point of view, it looks less like someone walked into a shop and lit a massive stack of $100 bills on fire and more like a quasi-logical progression of events. Or at least it does to me. You can check out the build in the video below, complete with plenty of Fast and the Furious references and racing. Win, win, win.
