1989 Fj75 Troopy Troop Carrier Landcruiser Australia on 2040-cars
Glendale, California, United States
|
Recently imported FJ75 from Australia,
right hand drive. Titled in California. This 1989 was very well kept and up to
strict Australia Road Worthy standards before its export. No leaks and in great
running condition. I imported the Troopy through Washington, picked it up and
drove it home without issue. Fluids are all fresh with only one small rust spot
by the windshield. Extremely great shape for an 89. Five-speed transmission,
full floater rear and a professionally installed dual-fuel system for gas and
propane. Tons of upkeep work with AU receipts and it handles to show it. Very
rare in the USA. Three seater with belts and an open bed ready for an overland
build out. Solid axle cruiser never offered in the USA but with a reliable,
stock 3F engine to make parts sourcing simple. New vent fan, all stock switches
and levers work except AC. 1252 miles on gas system and about 50 on propane,
both appear to be in great working order. Has tow rated hitch, plug ins and tow
brake. KNOWN ISSUES AC system appears to be in working
order but switch appears to need cleaning/replacement. LightForce light works
when hard wired so just needs new switch or relay. The speakers have bad static
and click in and out, but work great when direct wired, just need fresh lines
run to radio. One of the rear door panels needs new snaps and there are some
dents on the exterior of the back doors and rear left roof line. All easy
access to bump out and repair, nothing to compromise function. Can be seen in
the pictures. ARB compressor switch can be seen in pictures as well, but is not
attached to anything. Needs tires. They have some run life left but no more
then a few thousand miles. INFO PROVIDED FROM AUSTRALIAN SELLER… Troop-Carrier 'Grande' [largest factory-made body size] which has been specifically set-up for long-distance touring & offroad adventure. Features an extremely reliable dual-fuel 3F engine which has been regularly serviced & is in excellent condition - carb has been completely overhauled to achieve most economical fuel-consumption on ULP. Features include: WELL OVER $70,000 @ NEW REPLACEMENT VALUE. NOTE*** Mileage is in KM |

Toyota Avalon celebrates 20 years with Touring Sport Edition
Mon, 27 Oct 2014The Toyota Avalon may not have the sportiest image on the market. Heck, it doesn't even have the sportiest image in the Toyota lineup. But the Japanese automaker is out to fix that perception, at least a little bit, with the launch of the new Touring Sport Edition.
Announced together with some minor updates to the entire Avalon line - consisting primarily of enhanced safety and infotainment systems - the Avalon XLE Touring Sport Edition celebrates the 20th anniversary of Toyota's large sedan line. Setting this special edition apart are a black paintjob, HID headlights, LED daytime running lights, 18-inch alloys (similar in design to those on the Scion FR-S) and an interior decked out with perforated leather with dark blue trim... plus, of course, the requisite special badges inside and out.
Only 2,500 units will be offered with a $37,170 sticker price that puts it near (if not quite at) the top of the Avalon range that's capped by the $41,700 Avalon Hybrid Limited. Pricing has increased on most models by around two percent, and you can scope out all the details of the updates to the full range in the press releases below.
Jay Leno gets behind the curtain on the design of the Toyota FT-1 concept
Mon, 07 Apr 2014Hinting at the future of Toyota performance vehicles, the FT-1 concept was one of the stars of the Detroit Auto Show this year. It even nabbed fourth place in our Editors' Choice list. While he's a few months behind the car's official reveal, Jay Leno managed to get the only existing concept of the sports coupe wheeled into his garage to take a closer look, and he's pretty impressed.
Leno speaks with Alex Shen and William Chergosky, the exterior and interior chief designers of the FT-1 respectively, to get a better idea of the inspirations behind the concept. Jay heaps high praise on it for mixing Italian and Japanese design and says he likes the look even more than the Lexus LFA. The coupe isn't a product of either country, though. It was penned at Toyota's CALTY Design Research center in Newport Beach, CA.
The designers go into the entire history of the FT-1, and Shen even admits that Toyota design lacks an emotional factor at the moment. It's a fascinating interview behind some of the little touches you might miss at first glance. Unfortunately, the model doesn't have the green light for production yet and may never get made. In any case, scroll down to watch Leno swoon over the coupe.
Scion's would-be savior C-HR spied before its Toyota rebadging
Wed, Feb 3 2016Scion is dead, but one of its future products, the C-HR concept, is still in development for launch as a Toyota. Toyota does a thorough job of hiding the C-HR's rakish shape on these test cars, but we can spot the concept's design cues. For example, the pointed nose and narrow headlights are present, and the giant box on the roof can't hide the downward arch for the coupe-like rear. The back doors on these examples look larger than before, which suggests a switch to a traditional five-door body rather than the hidden rear openings on the concept. The change would offer easier access to the backseat and make the C-HR a better competitor in the segment against vehicles like the Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, and Jeep Renegade. The C-HR debuted as a boldly styled three-door crossover at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Toyota later restyled the CUV with a more angular shape and extra doors. We most recently saw the compact crossover with Scion branding at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. Rumors suggest the production model's debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and it could arrive at dealers in the latter half of 2016. The powertrain lineup likely consists of a four-cylinder engine with a CVT and possibly a hybrid version, too. You'll also get to see the C-HR on the track because Toyota will race the crossover in the 2016 Nurburgring 24 Hours. Related Video:
