1988 Toyota Land Cruiser Base Sport Utility 4-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
| On Feb-12-14 at 04:47:10 PST, seller added the following information: "I have for sell a 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 4X4. It has 179,500 miles and is in great shape overall. It has a recent custom paint job and the interior is good shape with a few cracks on the dashboard and a tear in the drivers seat (typical for older land cruisers). I recently took it in for a checkup and diagnostic and the mechanic said that the transfer case needs some work. It does leak a little oil. There is very little rust on this vehicle. The only spots that I have found are on a couple of the door jams, under the rear cargo mat, and a few small spots on the rear quarter panels. All these rust spots are surface level from what I can tell. There were a few larger places on the rear quarter panels but I had them repaired at the shop that I had it painted at. The passenger door power window switch does not work. The window motor is still good because you can control the window from the drivers side. These are the only issues that I know about. This is a daily driver so the mileage may change a little." |

Mazda3 sales off to rocky start despite massive critical acclaim
Tue, 18 Mar 2014Like just about every other auto publication we've seen, we loved the way the Mazda3 drove when we reviewed it a few months ago, but those glowing reviews apparently aren't helping its sales. The new compact may be falling victim to a sales war between the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic, with the newcomer getting squeezed out by those with more established names and bigger marketing budgets.
According to Automotive News, Mazda3 sales have fallen every month since last August, and its sales are down 27 percent in the first two months of 2014. It certainly isn't helping that the entire compact segment is down five percent this year as well.
The biggest problem for the new model seems to be its price compared to rivals. Mazda is not offering the incentives that are on the hood of competitors. With the previous generation, the company offered more than $2,700 on the hood to move them out, but the current model only carries about $1,233 in markdowns, according to AN.
Takata air bag recall list
Tue, Dec 9 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed yesterday that 33.8 million vehicles with Takata airbags are going to be recalled. It's the largest recall in automotive history. The already record-breaking rate of automotive recalls this year shows no signs of slowing down, especially since millions of cars with defective airbags made by global supplier Takata are under ongoing scrutiny. The federal government is warning owners that inflator mechanisms in the air bags can rupture, causing metal fragments to fly out when the bags are deployed. The faulty air bags have already been blamed for multiple deaths. How do you know if your vehicle is safe? The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released an updated list of vehicles under recall. Sometimes however, the government's website will crash and the list may not be complete. Check your VIN at the NHTSA website to make sure. The list of cars affected by the recall has not been released, but seem to span multiple models over the years for many of the automakers.
