1987 Toyota Landcruiser Hj 60 2h Diesel H55 Tranny on 2040-cars

This is an excellent vehicle for the avid Cruiser head! The 2H engine is a rock solid diesel engine and has been well maintained through and through. This engine produces alot of low end torque which allows it power through 4WD terrain with ease. Toyota has a rugged reputation and this vehicle is no exception.
There is some rust on the under carriage, however, the tub is solid and there are no wear spots. A hail storm imparted a handful of dings to the roof and hood, but it is only slightly evident. This is a mechanically sound vehicle. It is capable of 4WD adventures in the high passes of the San Juan mountains at 12,600 ft and will likewise drive 75 MPH down the highway. Parts are surprisingly available for this model and it always turns heads. The exterior is in overall good condition, however, it has a mirror which has fallen off and the Landcruiser emblem on the passenger side has fallen off. I do have both of them as well as some additional items to go with the winning bidder. The fuel economy specifics are entirely up to how hard and fast you push the vehicle, but at 65 MPH on the HWY you can expect anywhere from 18-20 MPG of DIESEL! It is a heavy machine and non turboed therefore it does pass black smoke in the exhaust...this is normal! I have considered installing the appropriate turbo charger for it in the past, however, they are very expensive to purchase and I don't know many mechanics who were willing to tackle the project without charging as much as the turbo. I am the third owner of this truck and her name is Sadie. The original owner was a plumber from Canada and the second owner was a lawyer who had it imported to San Antonio, Tx. He would use it to take his kids hunting and for going out to get ice cream on Sundays. I bought her about five years ago to get me back and forth from college a two hour drive away. I made the trek once a week and she never gave me any problems. On days I woke up late she would push me to class at 75MPH! I am selling because I have finished college and my wife and I own a few businesses in which I need to invest the money I have in the Landcruiser to ensure their survival. I still owe a small amount, but my bank is very timely and easy to work with. The winning bidder may pay with paypal or via wire transfer. Thanks for looking! |

2014 Toyota Highlander greets the world with NYC debut
Wed, 27 Mar 2013Toyota has pulled the wraps off its all-new, 2014 Highlander in New York this morning, giving Americans a first look at what is sure to be a heavyweight in the mid-size crossover segment.
The new third-generation Highlander will come with the buyer's choice of three different powertrain options. The base model will be powered by a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel-drive. Next up the ladder is a 3.5-liter V6, also mated to the 6AT, which can be had with either front-or all-wheel-drive. Finally, the Highlander Hybrid will be equipped with all-wheel drive, its 3.5-liter V6 mated to an electric motor, all hooked up to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The automaker has not released any specs for fuel economy or output yet, though we're promised increases in both power and efficiency.
While not a revolution in terms of styling, Toyota has cleaned up the bodywork for the new model, offering a crisp, conservative look for the slightly larger Highlander. The vehicle is some three inches longer and an inch-and-a-half wider than the outgoing model, yet it has a lower roofline. Black plastic-clad wheel arches make an attempt to butch up the crossover, though to our eyes, the Highlander still has the look of a minivan around the rear view.
2014 Toyota Tundra appears with revised styling, same mechanicals
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Toyota has pulled the curtain back on its 2014 Tundra, showing a truck that has gotten its most significant refresh since its launch as a 2007 model. For better or worse, however, the changes that Toyota has made to the fullsize pickup are mostly cosmetic, with the underpinnings of the vehicle staying unchanged.
The most obvious revision for 2014 is to the bluff front fascia of the truck. There's a new, taller squared-off grille decorating the Tundra's nose, along with a revised, three-part front bumper design. The optional black grille-frame strikes us as an acquired taste, to say the least, but other models, like the Limited above, is all clad in chrome. Fenders and wheel wells are more square than in the out-going truck, too. Perhaps most significant is the revised bed design, which Toyota calls "all-new," with new sheet metal on the sides, a revised tailgate and a very subtle integrated spoiler.
Inside, Toyota has given buyers some new seats and a new-look instrument panel. A backup camera (always handy on big trucks) is now standard equipment on all grades, as is Bluetooth connectivity. Blind spot monitoring is a new, optional feature as well. In all, as with the exterior mods, the changes in-cabin are far more evolutionary than revolutionary.
2014 Toyota Aygo is so cross with itself
Mon, 03 Mar 2014It almost made it, but images of the redesigned Toyota Aygo have leaked ahead of its official debut at tomorrow's Geneva Motor Show. The new Aygo sports an aggressive look overall with a, um, mark on its face.
That distinguishing design feature aside, we quite like the angular headlights and muscular overall look of this little city car. The gaping trapezoidal air intake make the Aygo look more substantial, while swollen rear wheel arches hint at something sportier than your standard commuter device.
Sportiness, though, isn't likely to be a big part of the Aygo. As it's built on the same platform as the Citroën C1 and Peugeot 108, we should expect the same pair of gas-powered engines, which means at best, the Toyota will come to market with 82 horsepower under hood.
