I am selling my 1987 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60.   This has been re-listed because the winning bidder did not pay  (And of course eBay doesn't care).

**READ THIS**  DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO PAY!!!  The previous winner has been reported to eBay, but has already cost me $50 for listing the truck.  If you win the auction and don't pay, you will be reported to eBay for a non paying bidder, which will effect your bidding capabilities in the future.  In short, make sure you have your money together in a timely fashion and don't waste my time or interfere with a bidder who may actually want to buy the truck.

Exterior:  The body of this truck is in average condition for a Land Cruiser.  It does have rust on the bottom and underside of the truck.  Please note that this vehicle has spent most of its life in Indiana and is subject to harsh winters.  Most Land Cruisers have rust, so this should be no shock to a buyer.  As far as I could tell, There is no rust on the roof or tailgate (These are other usual Land Cruiser rust spots).  Some of the rust has been repaired/prevented by a previous owner.  From 10-15 feet away, the truck looks pretty good for the age.  It's still certainly a head turner, especially in the Midwest where classic Land Cruisers are VERY uncommon.  The roof was recently painted with a white Plasti-Dip spray.  This spray can be removed like a sticker if you do not like the look.  The same can be said for the grille and front/rear bumpers.  Again, it removes like a sticker causing no damage to the surface below.  I had this done to customize the appearance and give it a more classic Land Cruiser look!

Interior:  The interior of this truck is in good condition for the year.  The dash board does have a few cracks in it.  You can purchase a color matched dash cover for around $100 right here on eBay.Recently installed was a Pioneer CD player with a direct iPod control cable that will charge and connect your iPod while using it.  Additionally, new front and rear speakers were installed (Kicker/Sony).  The sound quality is nice!.  All the glass is in good shape with no cracks.  The door locks and windows work just fine (Crank windows/manual locks).  The headliner is very clean and not sagging (Rare for a Land Cruiser).  Also added were aftermarket Oil Pressure, Coolant Temperature, and volt meter gauges.  The factory gauges work, but in my research I found that many Land Cruiser enthusiasts prefer aftermarket gauges to the OEM gauges due to the ability to get a more accurate reading from the new gauges.

Mechanical:  This is one of the smoothest, quietest running vehicles I have ever owned.  It idles nicely and drives smooth.  From a distance, it is so quiet you can barely hear it run!  The 4x4 works and the hubs lock and unlock with ease.  The brakes work just fine and stops the vehicle well. I will include a set of new shoes for the winning bidder.  Newer parts are a full tune up, fluid changes, carburetor sorting and tune, power steering pump, thermostat, clutch master cylinder, choke cable, CD player & speakers (As indicated above), and a new battery with tooless/quick disconnect terminals.  All exterior lights work properly.  I have been driving it every day and it's a nice, cool truck to drive around in.  I'd trust it to drive anywhere!

Other: Before I purchased the Land Cruiser, a previous owner at some point removed some of the emissions equipment for better performance.  Please note that Indiana does not have emissions testing statewide, so I cannot guarantee this would pass in your state.  If you live in a state that exempts vehicles over a certain age, please check with your appropriate state office to verify.  I cannot be held liable if you fail to make sure of your state's emission laws.

Title:  The title for the Land Cruiser is branded as CLEAR.  The title is in MY name with no liens and is completely ready to be signed over to a new owner.  The winning bidder will also receive a bill of sale.

Bidding:  By bidding on this auction, you agree that you have read all information in this listing and understand the condition, age, and anything mentioned in the title.  I will check all bidder's feedback.  If you have been known to be a non-paying bidder in the past, I will contact eBay and cancel your bid.  Please only bid if you intend to purchase the Toyota.  Anyone with ANY previous feedback at any point in the past will have their bids cancelled.  If you have an unusually low feedback score, your bid will be cancelled unless you make contact with me prior.  Also, bidders with zero feedback will have their bids cancelled unless they contact me first at audstuen@gmail.com.

Winning Bidder:  By winning this auction, you agree that you have read this entire ad and agree with all terms and conditions.  Within 24 hours of the auction close, you will send $500 via PayPal as a deposit.  The remainder will be paid with a certified check.  That check is due within 7 days of the auction close.  If you fail to pay, you will be reported as a non-paying bidder.  Again, if you don't intend to pay, do not bid.

Shipping:  Shipping of this vehicle is the buyer's responsibility.  I agree to work with the buyer and shipping company to arrange a time for the vehicle to be picked up.  Please choose a shipper with a good reputation.

Other Information:  All information provided is given according to the best knowledge of the seller at the time of this listing.  This vehicle is a used vehicle, and is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied.  Registration, insurance, and any additional fees in the future are the sole responsibility of the buyer. There are no refunds or returns on the vehicle. Also, I do have this truck for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction until I receive money from the winning bidder.

If you wish to contact me via phone, feel free to do so.  My number is (574)-301-9709.  I will also accept offers away from the auction as well.

This 1,000-horsepower, rear-drive Toyota Corolla iM could be yours

Tue, Feb 19 2019

We were amazed last year when we learned that Papadakis Racing built Fredric Aasbo a rear-drive, 1,000-horsepower 2017 Toyota Corolla iM for drifting. Now we're amazed that the car could end up in the hands of an average person, because the car is currently going for auction on Bring A Trailer. Just as a quick recap for those that might have missed hearing about the car last year, the little Toyota hatch features a turbocharged and nitrous-injected 2.7-liter 2AR-series Toyota four-cylinder. Variants of that engine are found in older Toyota RAV4s and Camrys. According to Bring A Trailer, the engine hits 1,000 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque when running on E85. Power goes through a four-speed dog box manual transmission to the rear wheels. Now there is the question of what you would do with such a mad machine. One possibility is to run it again in the Formula Drift series the car was built for. Bring A Trailer reports that it should be legal for the 2019 season, and with extra parts and wheels, you would be in a good spot to get started. The seller does note that all the graphics and sponsor decals would have to be removed if it's entered again. Even if you didn't run it in a professional drift series, it would probably be a fun car to use in more grassroots drift events or even just as a track car of some sort. There's also one more potential option that would be totally absurd. You see, it appears Papdakis Racing started with a factory-built, street legal Corolla iM that could have easily gone on to see a life of ferrying a young couple or family around in efficient, affordable style. As such, it should have a VIN that could be used to register and insure the car without too much trouble. It even still has functional lights. As long as you're in a state that doesn't have modification or emissions restrictions, it could be possible to make this a street car. Now we're not positive on this, so do your due diligence before plunking down cash for it, but it does seem possible, and it would be crazy and awesome. Related Video:

Did Lexus make a BMW? Or did BMW make a Lexus? This and other 2017 surprises

Fri, Dec 29 2017

It's that time of year again. The calendar is about to reach its end, Star Trek Cats 2018 is about to take its place, and I'm reflecting about all the cars that graced my driveway this year or summoned me to exotic places. You know, like Stuttgart or Phoenix. In 2017, I drove at least 57, and as I perused the list of them, I started to notice a common refrain: "This car surprised me." Most were pleasant surprises, but there were a few head scratchers and facepalms for good measure. In both cases, it was generally the result of car companies seemingly trying to break out of an existing mold. Nowhere was that more apparent than the pair of Lexuses slathered in Infrared paint: The LS 500 that left me this week and the LC 500 that was my favorite car of 2017. Though Lexus has been trying to shake its crusty, gold-packaged reputation for some time now, its efforts always seemed like an old man choosing Hollister to redo his wardrobe after realizing it hasn't been updated since 1987. I fell in love with the LC, genuinely floored by its near-perfect take on the GT. It's characterful in sound, appearance and tactility. It was at home in the city, in the mountain and on the open road. It was both comfortable and thrilling, and after driving the mechanically related LS 500, I can report that the LC's talents aren't an outlier. The LS 500's turbo V6 may make different noises than the LC's naturally aspirated V8, but it nevertheless invigorates the cabin when the car is placed in Sport+ mode. The steering is truly communicative, body motions are kept in miraculous check, and I absolutely forgot I was in an enormous luxury limo ... and a Lexus one at that. It was everything that the BMW 530e was not. I drove that on the exact same roads and was utterly bored the entire time. Generally doughy, lifeless steering, more distant than Planet 9. And no, the plug-in hybrid powertrain had nothing to do with that. At least it shouldn't. The Porsche Panamera S e-Hybrid I also drove this year proves that, as do the Hyundai Ioniqs, which are surprisingly adept and fun little cars regardless of what powers their wheels (Hyundai + hybrid = fun really blew me away). I would drive that Lexus LS F Sport over the BMW 5 Series any day of the week, which seems like a shocking thing to say in relation to either car. While Lexus is seemingly breaking out of its old crusty mold, BMW seems to be climbing into one.
