this fj40 starts and runs excellent with i believe to be 86k original miles, very nice condition with alot of add ons, the stock 4 speed has been replaced with a 5 speed out of a fj60, for better milage down the hwys, it has a H.D man-a-fre front bumper with a warn winch. 4" safari suspension lift with inversion greasable shackles, front shackel reversal also done. steering stabilizer. brakes rebuilt a year ago, newer radiator, newer optima battery, new alternator, newer starter, a weber 38mm carb, exhaust header, newer exhaust and muffler a year ago, rear H.D bumper with reciever and trailer plug. the frame and axles have been cleaned and coated with p.o.r.15, it still has the original rear jump seats that are in really great shape, rear heater and just put on brand new tires and wheels. the overall body is in excellent condition, this fj is owned by a friend, any ?s or more info on anything please email me.

Finalists for 2014 Green Car of the Year announced

The list of finalists for the 2014 Green Car of the Year has been announced, and in a genuinely bizarre twist, there's only one hybrid and no electric vehicles among the five contestants, despite the arrival of cars like the BMW i3 and Tesla Model S. Taking the place of the EVs are a pair of diesels, repping a technology that last won a Green Car of the Year award in 2009, when the Audi A3 TDI took the title. No diesel was in the running for last year's award.
Naturally, both of the diesel finalists are fielded by the Germans - with BMW's 328d and Audi's A6 TDI getting the nod. In the case of the 3 Series, BMW installed a 2.0-liter, turbodiesel, capable of delivering 180 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, while returning 45 miles per gallon on the highway. Audi and its larger, 3.0-liter, V6 turbodiesel produce quite a bit more grunt, with 240 hp and 428 lb-ft of grunt, but net a very impressive 38 mpg on the highway in the A6.
Finalists for this year's awards include two diesels, three gas-powered cars and a plug-in hybrid.

Toyota announces two recalls affecting 1M Corolla, Matrix and Lexus IS models

The recall bug strikes Toyota again. The automaker has issued a voluntary recall of three models that, in total, represent more than one million units. Around 752,000 2003-2004 Toyota Corolla and Matrix models are being recalled for airbag concerns, while a windshield wiper issue is causing the recall for close to 270,000 Lexus IS sedans from the 2006-2012 model years.
Completely unrelated to the small airbag-related recall issued earlier in the week, the Corolla and Matrix recall is caused by a faulty airbag control module that could potentially short circuit, which could lead to the front airbags or seat belt pretensioners deploying. The Lexus recall is due to a wiper arm nut that wasn't tightened properly, which can cause the wipers to not work when trying to clear heavy buildup such as snow.
