Up for auction is my beautiful 1977 FJ40 Land Cruiser. This vehicle is finished in Rustic Green and is rust free. Mileage listed on the vehicle is 66,697 miles. I can't confirm if these are actual original miles or not but this is what the odometer is displaying. This vehicle starts, idles and drives flawlessly. No leaks. Factory 4 speed. I haven't been able to use this vehicle as much as I anticipated and as much as I want to keep it, it should go to someone who could use this vehicle more often as these vehicles don't like to sit, they definitely enjoy being driven and used rather than being stored in my garage and only taken out on nice days. It received a frame off restoration starting in 2008 and completed in 2009. There is no aluminum, no fiberglass, no cut rear fenders, no bedliner hiding anything, and no bondo. This is a 100% OEM steel body which was sandblasted during the restoration and received a beautiful, complete repaint in the original Rustic Green. The frame looks as good as new as that was also completely restored during the frame off. I purchased this vehicle in April of 2012, so the restoration was done prior to my ownership. All replacement parts that weren't restored were replaced with Factory OEM Toyota parts. These include water pump, smog pump, alternator, remanufactured intake/exhaust, new clutch, rebuilt factory carburetor, late model Land cruiser electronic ignition, new rubber suspension bushings, new exhaust pipes, new Genuine Toyota Muffler, all new gasket and seals, brand new weatherstripping around doors and all new window seals. All emissions equipment is intact and working for states that have to meet emissions standards. I am sure much more was done during the restoration, but without all the documentation I can just go by with what I see is new and what was told to me during the time I purchased the vehicle from the Cruiser Restoration shop. When I purchased it I did a few upgrades. I replaced the old suspension with a brand new Iron Man 2 1/2 inch lift kit. This car drives and handles very nice with this kit, which also included a new steering stabilizer. I purchased new Pro Comp steel Wagon Wheels and mounted 4 new BF Goodrich 33X10.5 All Terrain Tires, less than 500 miles on these tires since my ownership. Since the vehicle did not come with the rear jump seats when I purchased it, I bought a CCOT fold and tumble rear seat, seat belts and headrests included. I also purchased a CCOT steel tailgate powder coated black to mount when the Hard top/Ambulance doors are removed. I had a Kenwood CD player with ipod hook up installed with some boxed 6x9 speakers that I did not mount to the body so they can me moved around in the vehicle for more leg room, etc. I also purchased some new door mirrors from CCOT, but I also have the Toyota OEM mirrors in good shape that will be sold with the vehicle. I purchased CCOT tail light rock guards and installed them as well. I bought a new Duralast Gold Battery and installed that when I purchased it. I bought a CCOT rear rubber floor mat that I also put in and cut around the rear seat mounts and seatbelt mounts. I still have the original rear floor mat that will be sold with the vehicle. All dash lights, exterior lights work as they should, even the cigarette lighter works for charging a cell phone, ipod, etc. There is no headliner in the hard top. It never had one when I bought it and it never bothered me that it wasn't there so I never installed one. The spare tire is an older chrome Toyota wagon wheel that is spray painted white and has an older 31 inch AT tire mounted. I only have the hard top and an older bikini top that will go with the vehicle but I never installed or used the bikini top. I only removed the hard top once in my ownership. This FJ40 comes equipped with Warn locking hubs and shifts in and out of 4x4 hi and lo without any issues. This vehicle also has the OEM Toyota step mounted on the rear bumper which is nice if the new owner ever mounted roof racks on the hard top. There is a small area on the drivers bottom seat where the stitching at the seams started to seperate and pull apart, it is not anything major but it never spread and didn't need to be addressed. I would say it is approx 1-1.5 inches long. If anyone would like to see a picture of this I could take one and text a picture or email one if they wish. This FJ40 is in fantastic restored condition but it is still a 36 yeard old vehicle with a 4-5 year old restoration so please ask questions if unsure of something. PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU HAVE THE FUNDS TO PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE. This vehicle is sold without a warranty implied or expressed. This vehicle is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end/cancel the auction at any time. The winning bidder will be responsible for all shipping costs but I will assist as much as I can. If potential bidders would like to discuss this vehicle feel free to email me at cpdjfd@yahoo.com and I will also give my phone # out during emails if potential bidders would like to discuss this vehicle over the phone. Good luck and happy bidding, the new owner will be extremely happy with this classic FJ that can be used and enjoyed while it contines to rise in value.

A few people asked a question of the red spot above the passenger's side door step, that red spot is just a reflection of my Toyota Tundra's brake light that was parked next to the FJ when I took the photos. The paint is excellent on this vehicle. I have the touch up paint as well. There is some small areas on the windshield frame that I had to touch up when removing the hard top and putting it back on but they aren't really noticeable.

Lexus F performance SUV could be in the works
Wed, Jan 30 2019Amid the wave of SUVs and crossovers that has crashed down on the industry, several high-performance sporting SUVs have washed up and started to fill a separate growing niche. It's an idea that Lexus is contemplating, according to a new report, with a possible F-branded utility vehicle focusing on either on- or off-road specialties. At the Rolex 24 in Daytona, Florida, Motor1 learned that incorporating a crossover or SUV into Lexus' F performance division has been under "active discussion." That doesn't necessarily mean a hotted-up utility vehicle, however. According to the report, F could translate to a different type of performance on the SUV, specifically for off-road capabilities. Using the F badge in this way would be a huge departure from what it has meant during the brand's 10-year history. Lexus currently offers the sport-focused RC F and the GS F, with an LC F expected soon. Should Lexus decide to lean further into the sport performance methodology with its utility vehicles, the newly released UX and the NX would likely be the top candidates. That said, Lexus does have two highly competent off-road vehicles in the Lexus GX and LX. Plus, Toyota, Lexus' parent brand, has been producing some of the best off-road vehicles on the market for years. As of now, this is just talk, but the way SUV and crossover sales have been going, we'd expect an F-branded Lexus SUV in the near future. Which kind of enthusiast it's for remains to be seen. Toyota settles for $3M after being found liable in sudden acceleration case
Sat, 26 Oct 2013A jury has decided that faulty software was to blame for a crash involving a 2005 Toyota Camry that killed one woman and injured another. This is the first time Toyota has been found liable by a jury in a lawsuit involving sudden acceleration claims. Toyota has maintained that driver error is the most likely cause for cases of sudden acceleration.
Shortly after the jury in the case, which took place in Oklahoma and centered around a crash that injured 76-year-old Jean Bookout and killed her passenger, Barbara Schwarz, reached a verdict that would see Toyota paying $3 million in compensatory damages, a confidential settlement was reached. The jury, which had found Toyota liable for "reckless disregard" for public safety, had yet to decide what punitive damages Toyota would face.
Toyota said in a statement, "While we strongly disagree with the verdict, we are satisfied that the parties reached a mutually acceptable agreement to settle this case. We will continue to defend our products vigorously at trial in other legal venues."
Toyota's refreshed Sai is a Lexus HS by any other name
Wed, 04 Sep 2013Toyota first launched Lexus in the United States back in 1989, but it wasn't until 2005 that it brought the luxury marque home to roost. But don't think that Toyota didn't find a way of selling many of its premium models in the Japanese Domestic Market in the meantime. The Lexus LS was sold as the Toyota Celsion, the ES as the Vista and Camry Prominent, and the SC as the Soarer. (We could go on, but you get the point.)
These days Lexus sells in markets around the world, including Japan, but Toyota still spins off its own versions of Lexus models to sell domestically as well. Like the new Sai, for example. Sharing its platform, hybrid propulsion and much more with the Lexus HS (which you may remember as the world's first dedicated luxury hybrid until it was pulled from the market early last year), the Sai was introduced to Japan at the same time as the HS was rolled out around the world. Now nearly four years on the market, Toyota has given it a bit of a refresh.
Boasting a far more aggressive front end and a restyled rear, the revised Sai features LED headlights, 16-inch alloys and a higher-quality interior in which JDM buyers will find a new center console and trim, along with an optional 10-speaker infotainment system. Toyota also boasts that the new Sai is made of 20-percent Ecological Plastic and recycled resin.
