Selling my 2007 Toyota FJ cruiser.  Excellent truck ready for a new owner.  I have meticulously maintained this vehicle.  It has never been four wheeled or off road. I own an auto repair facility and this is my personal vehicle.  Please review the details highlighted in bullets below, look at photos and feel free to contact me with any questions.

  • Always full synthetic oil in engine every 4,000.   Transmission, transfer case and differentials  twice since I  have owned it Royal Purple.
  • Two full sets of wheels and tires.  Steel for winter with Blizzak tires that have 90 percent tread remaining.  BBS summer tires with GY ATS 75 percent tread.  Both summer and winter sets upsized to 275-70-17.  All excellent, balanced and ready to go.
  • URD Under dog racing development long tube header system.  Ceramic coated and wrapped.  These were a great addition.  Driven conservatively 17-20 MPG is attainable.
  • Transmission update performed.  At 93k to be proactive I removed the transmission and upgraded the input shaft with the stainless sleeve and upgraded TO bearing.  This eliminates the clutch issue/weakness with the M/T going forward.  New Toyota pressure plate and clutch disc installed at this time.   Again I did this proactively.  The next owner will benefit from my obsessive compulsive disorder.
  • I used a 3M clear bra on the front of the truck.  The nose is like new because of this.  No stone chips.  I have removed the 3M bra.  It was picking up at some corners and did not photograph well so I removed it for the sale of the truck.
  • Roof rack system.  Goes with the truck and Thule cargo box.  This system makes zero wind noise unlike the factory bars.  You can access the box without an extension ladder unlike factory bars.
  • Brakes are fresh with Brembo discs front and rear.  Just did these.
  • Two complete sets of keys And remotes.
  • No body panels have ever been repainted or worked on.
  • No CEL or warning lights on of any kind.  No leaks of anything from anywhere.
  • Toyota tow package installed.
  • There is a ding on the LR.  See pics.

Note: the accident that comes up on 10-24-08.  I investigated this before for I purchased the truck as it involved the previous owner.  I have the police report.  Parking incident LR bumperete scratched and replaced.  I bought the truck.

Toyota Camry lineup gets interior and tech updates one year in

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

When it debuted last year, the Toyota Camry came in for some criticism over its interior, most centered on material choices - both in quality (not enough) and variety (too much). Thus, Toyota has responded after just one model year, updating both materials and features on its gas-powered and hybrid family sedans for 2013.
The LE version appeared to get the lion's share of the improvements. Specifically, the LE is getting "soft-touch" door materials as well as armrests that match the rest of the interior color (instead of being black). The LE model also gets Toyota's six-inch display screen that helps folks get a better gander at the car's energy usage and fuel economy, among other things. Other changes include adding cross-traffic alert for models equipped with blind spot monitoring
Toyota introduced its latest version of the Camry and Camry Hybrid in the fall of 2011 as a 2012 model. Sales have been solid, and in particular, the Camry Hybrid has improved its fortunes, bumping its US sales almost fivefold to more than 45,000 units. So far in 2013, the latter has carried over much of that momentum, boosting January 2013 sales from a year earlier by 81 percent to 3,826 units.

Toyota bringing updated Avensis to Geneva

Tue, Feb 17 2015

The upper end of Toyota's sedan lineup in America may be all about the Camry and Avalon, but that's not the case everywhere in the world. Back home in Japan, Toyota offers the Crown and the Mark X. But in Europe, it all comes down to the Avensis. And the Japanese automaker is about to roll out an updated version at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The Avensis, for those unfamiliar, is Toyota's challenger to the likes of the Ford Mondeo (which we know as the Fusion) and the Volkswagen Passat, available in both sedan and wagon forms. It was first introduced in 1997 and is currently in its third iteration, but what you see here is not the fourth-generation model but an update on the MkIII that hit the European market in 2009. Full details on the refreshed model have yet to be disclosed, but the new Avensis clearly benefits from revised styling – carried out at the company's design studio in the South of France, with production to continue at the Burnaston plant in the UK. Expect a revised interior, updated equipment and a new engine range to also be part of the mix when the new Avensis is revealed in full early next month in Switzerland. TOYOTA TO REVEAL NEW AVENSIS AT THE GENEVA MOTOR SHOW Toyota will reveal the new Avensis at the Geneva motor show (3 – 15 March), the latest development of its contender in the European mid-size (D-segment) car market. New Avensis has been styled at Toyota's ED2 design studio in the South of France and developed by the company's R&D centre in Brussels. It will be built by Toyota Manufacturing UK at the Burnaston car plant, near Derby. The new model will deliver innovations in comfort and safety and will feature a new range of engines that promise both performance and efficiency. Avensis has been designed to appeal to fleet and private customers alike. Toyota will present new Avensis and host a press conference on its stand at the Geneva motor show at 12:15 on 3 March. Toyota reveals new TS040 Hybrid LMP1 [w/videos, poll]

Thu, 27 Mar 2014

There's a new season of motor racing upon us, and while that doesn't always mean a new crop of cars in every series, in the case of the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship, that's exactly what it means. Porsche recently revealed its new 919 Hybrid and Audi its revised R18 E-Tron Quattro. Now it's Toyota's turn.
Revealed today at the Paul Ricard test track in the South of France, the new TS040 Hybrid is based on the TS030 Hybrid it replaces, redesigned to meet the latest regulations established by the FIA and ACO for the World Endurance Championship and its flagship race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In accordance with said regulations, the TS040 is two inches narrower than the TS030 and also incorporates a new hybrid powertrain.
The previous 3.4-liter V8 has been replaced by a 3.7-liter V8 developing 513 horsepower, and the new engine is coupled to an Aisin AW electric motor at the front, a Denso electric motor at the rear and a Nisshinbo super-capacitor that combine to kick out an extra 473 hp, giving the system a combined output of nearly 1,000 horsepower while consuming 25 percent less fuel than last year's car. It also gives the TS040 all-wheel drive to help channel all that power to the road.
