I hate to sell this car but I have too many to drive!  I have loved this car since the day I bought it brand new in Florida.  I know auto check report shows 2 owners but this is incorrect.  The  2nd owner calculation was based upon when a new title was issued when i moved to TX. Please check vehicle history report within listing which provides a free Autocheck report. I ran a Carfax report which does report as a 1 owner car. I can provide this report upon request  This car has been extemely reliable and is in great condition at a low 97K miles.  What I love bout this car is that it is full size vehicle with a large truck space, great smooth quiet ride that gets great gas mpg (30k plus).  The water pump and timing belt were replaced at 75K.  This car was purchased new in Florida then I moved to TX and then returned back to my home state (NY). Since moving back to NY in 2009 the car has never been driven in the winter and always garage kept.  I mostly used the car to commute to work while living in FL & TX.  When I moved back to NY the car for the most part was only driven on weekends in the late sping/summer/early fall  because I work from home and would use one of my 4 wheel drive vehicles in the winter. The car has absolutely no rust what so ever!  The car oil has always been changed at every 3000 miles with Mobile 1 synthetic.  The interior is in immaculate condition with no stains or tears.  The car is smoke free. The exterior condition is in great condition that does have some paint chips on the front part of the vehicle and  I have provided a picture in regards.  The tires are in good condition and battery was replaced about 1 yr ago.  The car is in excellent running condition, no issues. Car was just detailed inside and out.  Oil was also just changed with Mobile 1 synthetic. Just get in and drive.Willing to drive car to new owners location providing the car is paid in full prior to delivery and the the new owners location is within a 4 hour drive radius from my home locaiton and is willing to pay for the gas for the entire trip.  Who every buys this car will not be disappointed!  Please email me with any questions. You can also calll me at 315-562-3529. I can email additional pictures upon request. The car does has a valid inspection until 1/2014.

Toyota sudden acceleration class action may cover 22 million owners

Thu, 16 May 2013

A total of 22.6 million current and former Toyota owners have been sent notices that they may be eligible to receive compensation from the automaker for damages related to the unintended acceleration fiasco that has dominated headlines in 2009 and 2010. The total payout may be as high as $1.63 billion, according to The Detroit News.
Steve Berman, a lawyer for the owners, calls the potential deal "a landmark, if not a record, settlement in automobile defects class action litigation in the United States." Still, there's some debate about whether or not Toyota's proposed settlement is fair, as it includes $30 million for safety research and driver education programs - in other words, Toyota seems to be suggesting that drivers need more education on how to drive their correctly working and fully functional vehicles. For those keeping track, Toyota would also be paying lawyer fees of $200 million.
A US District Judge in California is scheduled to hold a so-called "fairness hearing" on June 14 that could decide the fate of this particular settlement. Further courtroom wrangling will be required to hash out any wrongful death suits levied against Toyota stemming from unintended acceleration claims, as those are not part of this class-action suit.

The real reason automakers are giving away free hydrogen

Wed, Nov 19 2014

Just like Hyundai did with its Tucson fuel cell, Toyota is offering free hydrogen fuel with the $57,500 Mirai H2 sedan. Toyota is being a bit vague about the details, saying simply that Mirai drivers will get, "complimentary hydrogen fuel for up to three years." Turns out, the reason that the hydrogen avant-garde will not be paying anything at the pump isn't because the automakers want to give them a boost or because the OEMs are kind. Instead, it's simply impossible to accurately charge people for hydrogen right now. It's simply impossible to accurately charge people for hydrogen right now. At an in-depth hydrogen seminar this week as part of the Mirai preview, three representatives from various hydrogen organizations revealed that the current hydrogen stations (most of which are in California) are not set up to accurately measure the hydrogen that is dispensed. Without this little bit of information, you can't charge customers for the fuel they use. Toyota is well aware of this, and Toyota Motor Sales' national manager of environmental, safety and quality communications, John Hanson, said that, "There are no set standards, so there is no way to charge people for anything." Alberto Ayala, the deputy executive officer for the California Air Resources Board, said CARB is in the middle of developing a way to sell a given amount of hydrogen, "which up to this point doesn't exist. If you think about it, it's a real simple yet real practical challenge. If you're going to pay for X amount of hydrogen, you're actually getting that amount of hydrogen." Ayala said it's not a difficult technical problem to measure the hydrogen as it goes into the car, but "we just have not done it. We are at a point where we are solving multiple remaining questions [with hydrogen infrastructure], and that just happens to be one of them." The National Institute of Standards and Technology says that there has been a discussion to change the current tolerance of two percent up to 10 or 20 percent, but that new technology should be able to measure accurately to within one percent. Air Liquide is working with Toyota to launch the Mirai in the US and Air Liquide CEO Ole Hofelmann told AutoblogGreen that being able to charge customers will be key to the technology's success. "We need to make sure we accurately measure the gas," he said.

Toyota Me.We concept is a multifunction Tupperware car [w/video]

Wed, 24 Apr 2013

Not to be outdone by the Renault Twin'Z concept penned by Welsh designer Ross Lovegrove, Toyota has partnered up with French designer Jean-Marie Massaud to create the 2013 Toyota Me.We Concept. Unveiled at Le Rendez-vous Toyota in Paris, the Me.We Concept is an attempt to imagine a car that can be appreciated by owners across a wide variety of lifestyles while being courteous to the environment, too.
From a "Me" perspective, the concept is highly customizable with removable body panels, and even though it might look like just a small hatchback from the outside, Toyota claims it can also be used as a pickup (with an extendable rear panel), a convertible (with a neoprene roof panel) and even an off-road vehicle. As for the "We" part of the car, it's a fully electric vehicle with individual in-wheel motors and a battery pack mounted under the load floor. The concept has a weight of around 1,600 pounds kept low thanks to an aluminum chassis, but it also features renewable bamboo wood for the floor in addition to the fully recyclable polypropylene exterior body panels. Scroll down to see more in an official video and to check out Toyota's official press release.
