This 1998 Toyota Camry was originally bought by me 10 years ago. Most of the mileage was highway miles. I traveled the NYS Thruway from Buffalo to Syracuse and occassionaly to Albany in my business. Later my son drove it to back and forth to college and most recently my 82 year old mother drove it until she just recently gave up her license. It was a great car and the engine runs as good as it did when I bought it and the transmission shifts fine. I have changed the timing belt twice over the last 10 years so it should be good for many more miles and I have always run Slick 50 at every oil change. It has newer tires, had exhaust work, and was NYS inspected about 5 months ago. The truth is you could slap a plate on it today and drive it anywhere. There is very little rust and I've pictured most of it. Thats the Good! Now the bad. The air condition worked until last summer and slowly got warmer. I've never had it charged up, so my guess is that the problem. I don't smoke and I use to be able to call it a non smoking vehicle but my son and his friends smoked in it when he took it to college about 4 years ago now, though it really doesn't smell, there are a few cig. burn spots here and there, but not too bad and the same kid broke the rt. side rear view mirror. I started to repair it but its not finished and that will be your project. The rear struts need to be replaced. I hear them rattling in the trunk area and its starting to boat a little over bumps, the check engine lite is on but it didn't stop the NYS inspection and finally I have been nursing the shifting cable for years. It should be replaced. I have toggled it so it works but It drove my 82 year old mother crazy the shifter doesn't really line up correctly with the P R and D..lol. There are the usual scratches, dings and rubs of an older car. It sells free and clear and "as is" but if you or your kids need a dependable pretty good looking ride with minimal repairs, that also by the way also gets great gas milegage, then this is your car.
The car is available to be viewed locally and is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction should it sell. Read my feedback, and bid with confidence. I will guarantee the car is as described.

Autoblog fan favorite car ads from Super Bowl XLIX
Mon, Feb 2 2015Super Bowl XLIX is in the books, and the New England Patriots emerged victorious. Of course, if you're like us, the big game wasn't so much about the battle between the east coast and west, so much as a fight between the world's automotive advertisers. We collected and collated all of last night's new ads and put them together for you to vote on. And yes, we're limiting this year's contest to last night's new features. That's why you aren't seeing Dodge's epic Wisdom among our collection of commercials, and it's a similar story with Chevrolet's Truck Guy Focus Group series, which highlights the new Colorado. You can still vote for your favorites. We won't be closing the voting on our Super Bowl page, so while the winners and losers are correct as of this writing, it's entirely possible that there could be some changes in the rankings as time goes on. So, without any further ado, here are the winning ads based on your voting. Nissan: With Dad Fiat: Ready For Action Jeep: Beautiful Lands BMW: Newfangled Idea Mercedes-Benz: Fable NASCAR: America Start Your Engines As for those ads that failed to impact you, loyal readers, Toyota was the absolute, undisputed loser. The Japanese brand ran four ads in total – two for Toyota and two for Lexus – and all of them have negative tallies as of this writing. Lexus' Make Some Noise and Lets Play and Toyota's One Bold Choice and My Bold Dad both had very weak showings among the commercials that aired, although they weren't alone. Neither Mazda nor Kia scored particularly well, despite featuring celebrity magic act Penn and Teller and former James Bond, Pierce Brosnan, respectively. Chevrolet was the winner of the losers, as of our writing, recording the fewest downvotes for its audience-punking The Big Game ad. If you want to take a second look at the losing ads, you can head back to our Super Bowl page for the complete collection. But for now, head into Comments and let us know what you think of the results.
Toyota to show Camry and Corolla Special Editions, updated Avalon in Chicago
Thu, Feb 5 2015Toyota has quite the party ready for the upcoming Chicago Auto Show with the unveiling of some colorful Special Edition versions the Camry and Corolla to go along with the biggest piece of news, a refresh for the Avalon. The company didn't announce any specific info about the updated sedan but did release this dark teaser image, which we lightened (pictured right) to show off more detail. The stylists seemingly tweaked the higher portion of the grille, while giving the lower section a wide-open mouth. After the Camry's 2015 refresh, the popular sedan now has sharper, somewhat more aggressive styling, and this Special Edition based on the SE trim leans into that demeanor even more. Limited to 12,000 units starting in August, power still comes from a 2.5-liter four-cylinder rated at 178 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque with a six-speed automatic, but Toyota tries make it look a meaner, including 18-inch wheels with black highlights, smoked taillights and a choice of either Blizzard Pearl or Blue Streak Metallic paint. The interior changes are more thorough, with black bolsters and blue centers for the seats, plus matching cerulean highlights for the instruments and trim. Buyers also get a few luxuries inside with an Entune Audio Plus stereo, push-button start and moonroof. Navigation is optional. Where the Camry has a blue theme, the Corolla Special Edition goes crimson for its limit of 8,000 units beginning in August. Based on the S Plus trim, exterior upgrades are limited to a set of gloss black 17-inch wheels and a choice of Absolutely Red, Black Sand Pearl or Super White paint. There are a few more updates inside, with red stitching and accents for the seats, dashboard and door trim. These models also get push-button start, but an improved audio system with navigation and power moonroof are optional. Toyota's Camry mid-size sedan, the best-selling car in America for the past 13 years, and Corolla compact sedan, the world's best-selling car of all time, will debut special edition models at next week's Chicago Auto Show.
