For sale exceptionally clean, one owner (report shows two owners I initially leased the truck then purchased it ) 2008 Supercharged Toyota Tacoma PreRunner. The Intercooled  Supercharger is spacifically designed and engineered by Toyota Racing Development for the 1GR (4.0L V6) . The engine has been SAE rated at 304hp and 334 ft lbs of torque and is 50 states emissions legal with a California Air Resources Board EO number that satisifies all emissions compliance laws. To compliment the Supercharger a TRD Performance Air Intake system has been added. The truck is equipped with a  5 speed automatic transmission that works very well with this combination.

The TRD Sport Package is a factory option code PY and includes : Limited Slip Differential / Cruise / Tilt Wheel / Sport Seats / Hood Scoop / Fog Lamps / Sliding Rear Window / 115V 400W Power Point / Overhead Gague Console / Power Windows, Door Locks. Mirrors, The Sport Seats are by far some of the most comfortable seats  available with terrific lateral support.

The truck was ordered with the factory Towing Package code TO : 6500 towing capacity / Reciever Hitch / Wiring Harness / Oil Cooler / 130A Alternator

17" Alloy Wheels with Bridgestone Dueler H/T  P265 / 65R17 Tires

I purchased the truck new from Toyota and have been the only driver since then. The Tacoma shows as new and inside and out including under the hood . The truck has never been damaged or repaired there are  several small rocks pits from normal AZ highway driving, but no dings or dents. There is a small area of ware on the outside of the drivers seat from sliding into and out-of the vehicle (see image). The Tacoma has always been garaged and Never abused.

The Supercharger has all the quality and reliability you have come except from a Toyota product coupled  with great attention to detail and remarkable fit and finish provided by TRD. To establish the relaibility and longevity that Toyota demands, TRD subjected test engines , superchargers and drive-trains through a rigerious evaluation regiment with repeated durability cycles each  follwed by completed disassembly and eximanitation then reassembled and retested to insure all components are within strict Toyota tolerances for ware and durability.

TRD uses the enternal bypass valve to regulate boost conditions and improve fuel milage . I average a highway 22-23 mpg . The boost is mechnically fixed at 6.5 psi .The system is seemless and non-intrusive and requires no maintenance. Toyota quality with susprising performance and  no hassle or nonsense. The MSRP for the S/C is $4200 plus installation . A fun practical vehicle that must be driven to be appericated !

All the take-off parts come with purchase icluding : replacement belt, extra air filter amd air box, trailer ball and plug. Battery replace 7/12 , tires are about 10,000 miles from new. The truck was just serviced . The windshield was replaced this past week.

Toyota demos its TRD Pro Series line [w/video]

Fri, 07 Feb 2014

With a rich history of creating off-road worthy trucks and SUVs and a somewhat bland impression of its brand overall, Toyota has wisely created a line of TRD Pro Series vehicles to spice up its showrooms and newly engage customers. Debuting at this year's Chicago Auto Show before rolling into dealers this fall, the TRD-tuned vehicles include the 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra, all with added rough-road gear and amped-up looks.
The TRD Pro Series trucks might end up, in many cases, as lifestyle accessories for outdoorsy types, but that doesn't mean they're all show. TRD springs and Bilstein dampers are set up for off-road performance, while skid plates will protect the softish underbellies of these would-be rock-crawlers. The trio all get lifted over stock height, as well, with two-inch gains for the Tundra and Tacoma (lovingly referred to as "Taco Supreme" in the Toyota press release), and an inch-and-a-half rise for the 4Runner.
We detailed all of the changes to the Pro Series vehicles in our original announcement post, and you'll also find more granularity of information in the Toyota press release below. Before you dive in, however, be sure to take in our set of live, action-packed images from the Chicago Show floor.

Toyota must go to trial over unintended acceleration suits

Tue, 08 Oct 2013

Toyota is surely readying its trial lawyers, as the Japanese giant is officially headed to court in a pair of cases relating to its unintended acceleration fiascos of 2009 and 2010.
In the first case, the United States Supreme Court has actually got involved in matters, ignoring an appeal from Toyota that attempted to use an arbitrator to settle its California lawsuits. The automaker will now go to trial to face owners of 2010 Prius models over an alleged defect with the anti-lock braking systems, which plaintiffs say made the cars more difficult to stop, according to Bloomberg.
The second trial is a bit more in depth, covering the case of Ida St. John, an 83-year-old from Georgia, that crashed her 2005 Camry in 2009. The accident is believed to have played a part in her death, although the suit, being filed by her grandson, doesn't actually place blame on Toyota for her death.

Nearly 700,000 Toyotas and Lexuses named in fuel pump recall

Tue, Jan 14 2020

In an announcement posted to its corporate press room, Toyota made known a voluntary safety recall on select 2018 and 2019 Toyota and Lexus models. The recall includes roughly 696,000 vehicles and deals with a fuel pump that might stop working. An internal investigation into the issue is under way.  Affected rides include the Toyota 4Runner, Camry, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, Avalon, Corolla, and Tundra, as well as the Lexus LS 500, LC 500, RC 350, RC 300, GS 350, IS 300, ES 350, LX 570, GX 460, RX 350 NX 300, RX 350L, and GS 300. The Avalon, Corolla, NX 300, RX 350L, and GS 300 are restricted to 2019 model years, while the others are 2018 and 2019 model years. The potential danger in this issue is pretty obvious. Should the fuel pump stop, the vehicles could sputter, stall, and come to a stop, likely without the ability to restart the cars. Toyota notes warning lights and messages would display should this occur, but by then, it'd be too late. Although Toyota made the announcement this week, the investigation is not yet complete, and therefore, a fix has not yet been specified. The resolution, when determined, will come free of charge to affected customers. Toyota plans to send out notifications for affected vehicles in mid-March.
