This 1995 Toyota Supra Turbo (NA-TT) Automatic hardtop started life as an NA car and had an Aristo 2JZ swapped in by a previous owner. It was originally black, then was painted yellow with an ugly body kit, and now it sits RSP painted approx 1 year ago. It was also given back the factory panels. Body has 235k miles with no rust or reported accidents. AC blows cold.

Since getting the car, I have fixed most of the mechanical issues which plagued it and many of the cosmetic and functional ones. I have replaced the JDM turbos with Stu GT28 twins and had Speed for Sale here in Atlanta do their THUK upgrade (improves the transition between turbos 1 and 2). Fuel is USDM 550cc injectors, Bosch 440 pump, Tomei L-type FPR, and a MAP-ECU with a basemap provided by Speed for Sale (could use further tuning for maximum power). Has not been dynoed but it's quick. These turbos are good for about 30 psi and approximately 500whp on 93 pump gas. Because you maintain the sequential system, it's very drivable. This is my daily driver. Exterior has dings and paint chips here and there, but overall is good. The paint job is not show quality by any means. There is some overspray here and there, and the paint on the front lip is peeling off (only on the front lip though). It has toxic tails LED tail lights on it. Anyone who buys the car I'll give a free set of any toxic tail variety or configuration if you don't like the ones on there or can throw an OEM set back on there.

I have put a lot of time and effort into getting this car back to where it's respectable and mechanically sound. It still has areas which need work, and is by no means a show car, however for someone who wants a quick car which they can use as a daily driver, won't depreciate much in value over the next few years, and they can fix up on the weekends as a hobby, this is the perfect car.

Summary:

Engine:
JDM aristo 2JZ with USDM ECU and harness
Stu GT28 Twins with THUK kit
Tomei L-Type FPR
Bosch 440 fuel pump
550cc injectors
MAPECU1 with base map (perfect idle, basemap is tuned for safe operation. I drive on this basemap every day, this is my daily driver).
HKS Dragger exhaust

Interior:
Kenwood DNX9140 nav system
Sirius radio
Random 5x9 sub w/ built in amp in factory location
LED dash conversion
Old school greddy boost gauge

Exterior:
19" Rims (unsure what brand)
Toyo tires with approx 5000 miles on them
Toxic Tails LED conversion with CF valence
Newish RSP paint

Suspension:
Rear: Tien Flex coilovers
Front: TT shocks with Eibach sport springs
New front upper and lower control arms

Issues:
Lots of miles on the body. No rust however and no accidents reported (haven't seen evidence of accidents either). I had a large dent repaired on the fender, but that was not an accident, someone punched the car. Clean Florida title.

Small oil leak from the turbo return line. Have the new lines, will likely have this fixed before anyone buys the car. If not, it will come with steel braided lines and all fittings to replace the oil return lines.

Car is quick and has a perfect idle, however needs tuned for maximum power. Doesn't bog or have any starting issues with the MAPECU. I drive it every day and take it on 1200 mile road trips every 3 months or so without problems. Cruise control even works.

I recovered the door panels in new vinyl recently, but I am by no means a professional and they could use a professional recovering. That being said, they're still a huge improvement over what was there before. Needs a new steering wheel too.

ABS light is on, unsure why (likely missing part of the ABS system). No CEL. Transmission throws a code having to do with the TRAC ECU.

I know quite a bit about the car and have spent a lot of time and money getting it back to where it is today. It still has a ways to go, but the potential for a great car is there. If you have any more questions please ask. I can give you a carfax on request. Please feel free to ask any questions.

These are the 'Greenest' and 'Meanest' cars in 2015

Fri, Feb 6 2015

As has become tradition, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) has come up with a ranking of what it refers to as the "greenest" cars of 2015, and, by way of contrast, a list of the so-called "meanest" cars, so those who value eco-friendliness over all else can choose which vehicles they should or should not consider buying. As you may expect, electric cars make up the majority of the greenest cars on the list, but, perhaps surprisingly to many, the Tesla Model S didn't make the cut. It's worth noting, too, that where the electricity an owner uses to charge their electric vehicle has a big impact on its overall environmental impact. "A car that is charged using electricity generated from natural gas or renewables is going to have significantly less impact on the environment than one charged on a coal-heavy grid," says ACEEE lead vehicle analyst Shruti Vaidyanathan. The ACEEE's list for 2015 looks very different than it did in 2014. It's an interesting collection, though – and we're sure this goes without saying, really – we'd recommend doing a bit more research into each vehicle and how it might fit into your daily life before making any purchase decisions. The 11 best scenes from the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed

Tue, Jun 30 2015

Over the last three days, the Goodwood Estate has played home to the eponymous Festival of Speed. Thrown by the biggest gearhead in the British aristocracy – Charles Gordon-Lennox, the Earl of March and Kinrara – the Festival of Speed is essentially a tremendous, gasoline-fuelled party, complete with a very large lawn sculpture, that features the world's hottest, weirdest, fastest, and loudest race, production, and historic models. While there are quite literally dozens and dozens of videos from the event – not to mention the full-day replays (of which only day one is available, at present) – we've sifted through them to pluck away the very best. There's stuff from the official Goodwood YouTube channel, as well as several videos from automakers and other third-party channels, and it's all available below. 2015 Ford Mustang GT350R Looks Barely Controllable If you thought the highest-performance Ford Mustang would somehow get more tractable or civilized once it moved to an independent rear suspension, this video shows you have nothing to worry about. Watch as an unnamed driver wrestles the new Shelby GT350R and its flat-plane, 5.2-liter V8 up the hillclimb circuit. Even with the new suspension and sticky tires, this Mustang wants to go any direction but straight, especially following its launch. 2016 Ford Focus RS, Is Very Loud, Blue Ken Block makes his first appearance on our list. Before he steps into his Hoonicorn Mustang, though, the Gymkhana expert tackled the hill in the all-new Focus RS. The vicious bellow of the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder is the star of this commentary-free video, although the gorgeous Nitrous Blue paint job is a nice accompaniment, as well. 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn Runs Hill, Nearly Kills Lord March Mr. Block's two runs behind the wheel of the Hoonicorn were, unsurprisingly, very eventful. While one attempt goes off without a hitch, seeing the American rally driver slip and slide his way to the top of the hill while taking a short break for a donut, the other is slightly more dramatic. Block, along with Lord March in the passenger seat, carries a bit too aggressive an angle into a turn and nearly puts the NASCAR-powered Mustang into the hay bales. Check out the first video above, and the second one below. Kimi Raikkonen Makes Us Miss F1's V8 Era The latest Formula One cars have been maligned for the lackluster noise produced by the new 1.6-liter, turbocharged V6.

First Toyota unintended acceleration case headed for trial

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

Toyota is going to be back in the spotlight, as the first of its unintended acceleration lawsuits is headed for trial. This case covers a Los Angeles sushi shop owner, Noriko Uno. According to the what the family told The Detroit News, Uno only put about 10,000 miles on her 2006 Toyota Camry in four years. Uno was apparently afraid of high speeds, avoiding the freeway and taking a route home along LA's surface streets to avoid them.
On August 28, 2009, Uno's Camry suddenly accelerated to 100 miles per hour, eventually striking a telephone poll and a tree and killing her. The family contends that Uno attempted to step on the brakes and pull the emergency brake, neither of which brought her speed under control, while Toyota maintains that improperly installed floormats and driver error have been behind the majority of the 80 cases expected to be heard in court.
In Uno's case, The Detroit News is expecting the trial to focus on the lack of an override if the gas and brake pedals were pressed at the same time. Brake overrides were installed on Toyota's European fleet. The Uno family attorney will need to prove to the jury that it wasn't driver error that killed Noriko Uno.
