Supra on 2040-cars
Calabash, North Carolina, United States
Up for Grabs is an Original 1994 Toyota Supra TwinTurbo 6spd. This car has a One of a Kind engine build done by a Very Well known Performance Shop in the Supra community. I have owned this car for the past several years and it has been a long time Dream to have it built the way it is today. Other Obligations have brought me to part with the car despite not wanting to sell it. I had several plans to futher enhance the car in both performance and looks. The stock interior needs some TLC due to its age in leather but thats no big deal to fix or replace, The 60mm gauge pod has some generic gauges in it but that is also a simple fix by adding a nice set of defi or aem gauges whichever you prefer, also due to driving the car there are a few nicks and chips on the front bumper but nothing major, the wheels are 19" xxr's black with polish lip which have some minor nicks hear an there. Whoever gets this Supra will have a very strong platform to go with and to build another just like it for the price it will go for just simply would Not Happen. This is a VERY Strong and Stout car for the street or track. I bought the car with the blitz bodykit and as a stock twinturbo setup and have completely turned it into what it is today.
I built this Supra as a weekend fun and nice weather car. Something that was different with more Power than most cars have on the road today. I had it built to be as reliable as possible while having a complete race ready engine. It can be driven on the street and in traffic without overheating like most cars that are built to race, I wanted to be able to drive anywhere without worry. Extracare was taken during the entire build process. The car has been in the shop for some time and has only been on the road since this past Decemeber 2013. I drive it every chance i get and I Truly Love the car. It byfar exceeds the goals and expectations i had during the build. This Supra makes Over 900rwhp on Low boost and well over 1000 on Highboost with Race Gas. A VERY Stout Car especially for the street. The car has a Custom 3.4 Stroker engine with a fully built Head to match. All the valves are Oversized both intake and exhaust sides with custom Titan HighLift Camshafts, all Ferrea Highheat Valvetrain, all ARP hardware, Billet Mains, Virtual works Intake Manifold, 4"Virtual Works anti-crush modified piping, Huge 6" Race front mount Intercooler, Virtual Works exhaust Manifold black heatcoated with a Modified Precision 88mm turbo, a custom 5" Downpipe heatwrapped with 5" complete exhaust system, all Tial wastegate and Bov's, a custom 6" Intake kit for the Massive Turbo, Unorthodox racing pulleys and camgears with superstrong Blueback Timing belt, Fluidyne Radiator withdual electric fans with a custom overflow, Brand New Complete Wiring Harness and clips, all piping has Boost braces as well, RKS Complete fuel system with 2400cc injectors using a Huge intank Magna fuel pump, car also has a Haltech Platinum Sport 2000 stand alone engine managment system with 5Bar map system. Alot of parts are either polished or chromed on the engine also, the transmisson shifts very nice using a New RPS Triple Carbon clutch just for the build, it also has the battery relocation kit to the rear hatch using a brushed Taylor battery box which also still allows for the targa top. The exterior of the car has a complete Blitz bodykit with a custom painted Carbon hood and rear Trd Spoiler with carbon center, 19" XXR wheels black with polished lip. The interior is mostly factory setting with carbon overlay, and tri-pod 60mm gauges. There is alot to this car and is a Awesome Platform for any driver. The car has also been fully painted and looks very sharp as its been sitting in the shop mostly, out of any weather. Other than the few minor things listed above this supra is very nice and a Thrill to Drive. *Also Note that the engine is this car only has aprox 5,000 or so miles on it and the will be Sold as is.* If you have any Questions please Do Not Hesitate to ask.... No Returns* |

We drive the cars of Furious 7... in Forza Horizon 2 [w/video]
Thu, Apr 9 2015On March 27, Turn 10 Studios, the folks behind the Forza Motorsport series, and Universal Pictures, the studio responsible for the Fast and Furious franchise, gave us a match made in heaven, announcing a "standalone expansion" featuring the two franchises. Called Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast and Furious, it features the cars from the latest film installment, unique missions and the voice-acting of Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, who plays tech guru Tej Parker on camera. A Fast and Furious video game? Seems like a no brainer. It gets better. Rather than limiting the Fast and Furious Edition cars to the expansion game, Turn 10 made them available through one of their (some may say notorious) downloadable content packages. Eight of the expansion's 11 cars were made available for just $4.99 (the only cars that weren't included were the Fast and Furious Edition Nissan GT-R, while the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and McLaren P1 are already available in-game). What's cool ais that the cars featured in both games are visually identical to the vehicles driven by the stars of Furious 7. Each in-game car has an on-screen parallel that plays a role in advancing the film's story. Considering that we're unlikely to score seat time in Dominic Toretto's real Dodge Charger, then, we figured we'd take to the game and test the car in the digital realm. We've got nine little cluster reviews, covering the cars both in the game and how they appear in the movies. And don't worry, there are no major spoilers here. Click on for the cars of Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast and Furious. 1970 Dodge Charger R/T Fast and Furious Edition Supercharged 7.2L V8 / 900 HP / 663 LB-FT The one vehicle that is mandatory in a Fast and Furious video game, Dom's hot-rodded 1970 Dodge Charger, is as much a character in the films as its driver. Furious 7 marks the fourth appearance of this Mopar beast in the series. Not surprisingly it's a handful to drive, wildly quick and with a four-speed transmission packed full of very tall gears. But beyond that, it's arguably the coolest of the FF Edition cars. This black beauty is exactly as it appears in the latest installment of the film, with the video game version featuring intricate little details, like the moving parts on the BDS supercharger. It's an iconic car, and it's treated as such in the game.
Toyota plotting WRC-inspired Yaris hot hatch
Tue, Mar 24 2015The emergence of the new Honda Civic Type R goes to show that the Japanese can make hot hatches every bit as good as the Europeans. But though it's been a while since Toyota had a serious contender in the game, word has it that it's about to jump back in. The impetus for Toyota's (re-)entry into the hot hatch segment is its impending return to the World Rally Championship. The company announced just a couple of months ago its intention to run a Yaris-based (or at least -styled) rally machine in the WRC by 2017, and now the latest reports indicate a road-going version won't be too far behind. Though the competition-spec model is expected to pack a 1.6-liter turbo four built by Toyota Motorsport GmbH specifically to comply with FIA regulations, the street-legal Yaris hot hatch is tipped to carry the 2.0-liter turbo four from the Lexus NX 200t. Though the jury's still out, it'd likely stick with front-drive instead of a more complex all-wheel drive system, but with a six-speed manual and a limited slip differential, it has all the potential to be a real firecracker. Only a limited number will likely be offered, ostensibly to meet FIA homologation requirement – in the same vein as the Citroen DS3 Racing or the Volkswagen Polo WRC Street – and likely to carry a similarly premium price tag in the neighborhood of 34,000 euros. We'd be pleasantly surprised if any of them were to make it to North American showrooms, though.
This map reveals the cleanest vehicles based on location
Thu, Apr 28 2016Naysayers love to point out how dirty the electricity grid mix is when it comes to charging electric vehicles. Curmudgeons are eager to jump into any conversation about EVs to enlighten the lucky listeners about how plug-in cars contribute to pollution, sometimes even throwing in a dash of climate-change denial for good measure. (Thanks, buddy. Pray, tell me more about the plight of oppressed SUV owners.) Unless someone buys an EV just because they think they're cool (which, yeah, they often are), they probably have at least a passable understanding of their environmental pros and cons. As many EV owners are already aware, location has a lot to do with any particular plug-in car's carbon footprint. Still, there's always more to know, and knowledge is not a bad thing, especially if one uses it to do the right thing. That's why this handy-dandy map from Carnegie Mellon University is so interesting. CMU researchers have compiled information about the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions of various EVs based on where they're charged, as compared to gasoline-powered vehicles. The researchers looked at the Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Volt, and Prius Plug-In Hybrid versus the gasoline-dependent Toyota Prius hybrid and the stop-start-equipped Mazda3 with i-ELOOP and compared grams of CO2 emitted per mile. CMU takes into account the grid mix, ambient temperature, and driving patterns. CMU takes into account the grid mix based on county, as well as ambient temperature and driving patterns in terms of miles traveled on the highway or in the city. For instance, if you drive a Nissan Leaf in urban areas of California, Texas, or Florida, your carbon footprint is lower than it would be if you were driving a standard Toyota Prius. However, if you charge your Leaf in the Midwest or the South, for the most part, you've got a larger carbon footprint than the Prius. If you live in the rural Midwest, you'd probably even be better off driving a Mazda3. Throughout the country, the Chevrolet Volt has a larger carbon footprint than the Toyota Prius, but a smaller one than the Mazda3 in a lot of urban counties in the US. The Prius and Prius Plug-In are relatively equal across the US. Having trouble keeping it straight? That's not surprising. The comparisons between plug-in and gasoline vehicles are much more nuanced than the loudest voices usually let on.
