1985 Toyota Celica Supra P Type
-Super Silver Metallic over Black/Grey Cloth
-Southern Car
-69,997 miles
-5 Speed Manual
-Sunroof

This car has spent its life in Tennessee and Georgia. Garage kept since day 1. There is absolutely no rust anywhere, all systems work as new and no paintwork has been performed under my ownership. Yes, this car has ICE COLD air conditioning! I have owned 10 of these cars and this is the nicest one short of the 6800 mile example I once owned. This car is very tight and just a joy to drive – you would never think it was nearly 30 years old.

-100% Rust free car: hatch, gas door area, rockers, sunroof, cowl and quarter panels are flawless!
-Exterior trim is in flawless condition and still very flexible/pliable -note: most of this trim is long discontinued from Toyota
-Dash, door panels and armrest cover are in flawless condition - this interior is spectacular!
-OEM leather shift knob is in excellent shape as it still has the original leather wrapping
-Front and rear seats are in superb condition – just very light wear is visible on the driver’s seat
-All hoses and underhood rubber pieces are in excellent shape
-Sunroof, power mirrors, windows, hatch/gas door pulls, auto climate control, map light and underhood light work perfectly
-The original 14x7 PType wheels have been polished
-The hood has been resprayed at some point prior to my ownership. Additionally there are some spots where brake fluid splashed onto the hood while bleeding the brakes
-Rear bumper cover, left side lower area shows evidence of some substance splashing up and staining the paint. - see pics. It was like this when I purchased the car.

I bought this car with 58k miles in 2005 for $8500 and have invested in the following:
-New BF Goodrich 225/60/14 tires (only 200 miles on them)
-New KVR brake rotors and pads
-New Technafit stainless steel brake lines
-New Tokico HP shocks and struts
-New Dobinson lowering springs
-New Dobi sway bars front and rear
-New OEM Toyota timing belt & drive belt service completed in the last 1000 miles
-New NGK spark plugs and NGK wires
-New valve cover gaskets completed in the last 1000 miles
-New OEM cam shaft seals
-Refinished OEM style valve covers
-Rabidchimp cold air intake completed in the last 1000 miles
-New Brullen stainless steel cat back exhaust (the best choice by far for the 5M – the sound is perfect!)
-Transmission, engine, power steering, brake and diff fluids have been drained and refreshed
-New aftermarket stereo with upgraded JBL speakers front and rear

This is the 4th 1985 silver Supra that I have owned. I have owned a total of ten 1985 Supras since 1992.  2 black, 2 SDR, 1 White, 4 Silver and 1 Burgundy. I have seen 100s of these cars in supposed ‘amazing shape’ and the condition of this car exceeds most by a large margin.

Toyota C-HR stays sharp from prototype to production

Tue, Mar 1 2016

Scion is dead. While the troubled brand was given 13 years to make a case for itself, it never quite succeeded. And that's a shame, because we're pretty confident that this, the production-spec Toyota C-HR would have been one of its biggest hits. Instead, when it arrives in the US, it will be as a Toyota... where it will still likely be a big hit. The new small CUV made its debut after literally years of teasing concepts, the most recent of which was shown late last year in Los Angeles, where it was badged as a Scion. After seeing that car, it's quite clear that Toyota has strained itself to translate its style to the real world. Up front, there's clear inspiration from the Toyota Auris/Scion iM. But aside from the front, the C-HR's biggest inspiration appears to be the Nissan Juke. View 14 Photos It's like Toyota has tried to go even further, though. Its wheel arches are flared even more aggressively and they feed into a strong character line on the lower portion of the doors. In back, Toyota's designers seem to have just rotated the Juke's taillights 180 degrees while they sit below an extremely fast rear window. Said window is integrated into today's latest design trend, a floating roof. Mechanically, the C-HR rides atop Toyota's New Global Architecture, which is Japan's answer to Volkswagen's MQB architecture. Power comes from a hybrid drivetrain, good for a relaxed 120 horsepower. If you don't want hybrid power, Toyota will sell the C-HR with the Euro-market Auris' turbo 1.2-liter engine, but we almost certainly won't see that here in the US. Instead, American drivers will probably be left with nothing but a 2.0-liter, naturally aspirated four-cylinder. That engine will be exclusively paired with a continuously variable transmission that sends power to either the front- or to all four wheels. So there's Juke inspiration, but not in the driving character. Toyota says it will build the C-HR Hybrid in Turkey. We don't know if that facility will handle US-market vehicles or just Europe, but we wouldn't be surprised to see additional facilities come online to produce this stylish little bugger. Translogic 164: Driving the fuel cell vehicles of the 2014 LA Auto Show

Wed, Nov 26 2014

The LA Auto Show is known for its environmentally friendly vehicle debuts. At last year's show, hydrogen fuel cell concepts from Honda and Toyota joined a lease-ready Hyundai Tucson FCEV to cast a green hue over the convention center. This year, automakers took us a step closer to a fuel cell future by offering drives of their hydrogen-electric hybrids. Translogic host Jonathon Buckley takes a ride in the Toyota Mirai, which is headed for production in 2016. He follows that with a spin in the Volkswagen Passat HyMotion and the Audi A7 Sportback h-tron quattro concept. Which of these fuel cell vehicles holds the most promise? Tune in to find out. Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R is road-going version of brand's racing technology [w/video]

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

Did you know that the Yaris is Toyota's best-selling vehicle in Europe? That may help explain to us Americans why the car that's lowest on the company's totem poll here in the US got turned into an all-wheel-drive hybrid track monster for the 2013 Frankfurt Monster Show.
Called the Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R, this three-door pocket rocket isn't just a hybrid making a lot of horsepower - it incorporates technology from Toyota's TS030 Hybrid racecar that competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship series, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Yaris Hybrid-R packs a 300-horsepower, turbocharged, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine under its hood, which should be enough for most speed freaks, but Toyota pairs it with two 60-hp electric motors at each rear wheel (the same ones used in the production Yaris Hybrid that's sold in Europe). That makes total system output an insane-for-this-size 420 hybrid horsies.
But that's not all, as the Yaris Hybrid-R forgoes the traditional battery pack below the rear seats in favor of a supercapacitor, which can both hold more energy and has a much faster power charge/discharge speed than traditional batteries. Paired with the supercapacitor is a third 60-hp electric motor/generator positioned between the engine and six-speed sequential transmission. Its job is to feed the super capacitor energy during deceleration and direct its power to the rear electric motors when more grip and oomph is needed.
