2003 Toyota Sequoia Limited 4WD, DVD Player, Leather Interior, Tow Package, BRAND NEW iForce V-8 ENGINE 20,000 MILES AGO, NEW BFGOODRICH AT Tires 20,000 miles ago, Power Seats, Sunroof, 6 Disc CD Changer, Fully optioned. Up for sale is my family's Toyota Sequoia.  I am the second owner and have had this vehicle for 6 years. Pictures speak for how i care for my vehicles. Garage kept, washed weekly, and detailed monthly.  This is the vehicle i trusted to take care of my wife and kids and it has never let us down.  Drives tight and firm, shifts smoothly, and has plenty of power to pull a boat or camper.  The paint is glossy and shiny and has no dents or scratches that i have noticed.  I just put new brakes on it. At 145,000 miles i encountered a bent pushrod and opted to buy a brand new Toyota engine (not a remanufactured one, a brand new OEM engine) to make sure i did it right.  I have all service records.  This is a great vehicle that easily has 400,000 more miles in it given the condition and the brand new engine.  This is a used vehicle but shows very minor signs of its age.  I noticed a couple small small paint chips on the rear bumper (very small).  I suspect it could use a new yaw sensor as well. All other items operate and look as would be expected. I have this vehicle listed locally in several places online and thus reserve the right to end the auction early at my discretion.  Please call me with any questions at 828-712-7027.  I don't use paypal, but can accept a credit card for deposit which will be due at purchase ($750.00) with balance due in certified check or bank wire that will have to clear the bank before i release the vehicle. This vehicle can be driven anywhere and I can meet someone at airport (AVL) with it if needed.  Look at my feedback, i am prompt and honest and i expect the same of a buyer.  Good luck and happy bidding.

Toyota CamRally is vanilla spiced

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

We weren't quite sure it was possible, but NASCAR driver Parker Kligerman and the other folks behind this Toyota Dream Build Challenge vehicle (check out the other cars in the challenge) have made the Camry, a versatile but vanilla family sedan, into a performance car to be reckoned with. And by stripping it (literally) of its versatility and injecting some spice into it, this rally-spec Camry does indeed appeal to the enthusiast crowd.
The appeal starts with the CamRally's vintage Toyota racing colors of red, orange and yellow painted on a widened body. Those wide fender flares and rocker panels, paired with the revised front and rear fascias (and massive rear spoiler), lend the car an aggressive look without being tacky, and enhance the aerodynamics. But peel back the skin and you'll find plenty of performance upgrades to back up the looks.
While Toyota doesn't say how much horsepower it makes, the CamRally's V6 is turbocharged, and we assume the car's brake upgrade is indicative of the engine's increased output. The stripped interior only contains what's needed for rally racing, including bucket seats, a motorsport steering wheel covered in Alcantara, a carbon-fiber dashboard and a roll cage.

Supra successor may be all-electric sourced from Tesla; MR2 returning too?

Wed, 14 Nov 2012

Rumors of a revival of the Toyota Supra and MR2 have been swirling for years right up until just this week when high-level Toyota employees all but confirmed their return.
But now The Detroit Bureau has put together news from different sources suggesting that the next Supra might be all electric. The report cites recent comments from Toyota senior executives hinting at plans to work with Tesla on a new joint project. The FT-HS Concept (shown above) seems a logical inspiration for a new Supra.
And on the other side of the equation is Tesla's design chief Franz von Holzhausen who was quoted last year saying his company was looking at its next project, probably a sports car, that would follow next year's intro of the Model X. He went on to suggest the car would compete directly with BMW's 3 Series, which, in coupe form, could be a worthy competitor to a Supra as well.

Toyota working on cars that hover above the roadway

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

Toyota is one of the largest automakers in the world, but it's not content simply building and selling conventional cars - it's been at the forefront of numerous advancements in ground transportation. It is widely credited with advancing the cause of hybrid propulsion, and alongside Audi and Google, is among the first automakers seriously testing self-driving cars. We could go on, but the news here is that Toyota is reportedly developing vehicles that hover above the road surface instead of rolling along it.
The news comes from Hiroyoshi Yoshiki, one of Toyota's tech gurus, who revealed at Bloomberg's Next Big Thing summer in San Francisco that the company is working on hovering cars - ones that travel just above the road surface, but don't actually fly in three-dimension space.
According to The Verge, a spin-off of our own sister-site Engadget, Yoshiki refused to elaborate on what the project entails and how far along it is. He was speaking along acting NHTSA chief David Friedman, who lauded such advancements as a "great taste of innovations to come," but stressed the significance of more concrete improvements to conventional automobiles - like inter-car communications to keep vehicles from colliding on the highway - as more relevant to today's industry.
