1991 toyota mr2 . naturally aspirated. showing 220,000 but still runs great. very powerful and shifts smoothly with no grinding at all. new icw racing kamikaze rims , 2 new front tires 2 rear matching tires with at least 40% tread remaining. kenwood cd player with sirius radio. has t tops that do not leak. veilside style body kit with front bumper fiberglassed and moulded in for no seams. paint is recent and decent, requiring maybe only a light wet sanding and polish to be really nice. still shines well as is. newly tinted windows , white faced gauges and the interior is in decent condition for a 22 year old car. no cracks in the dash and there was some damage to the drivers seat which i repaired myself. not professional but not bad either. i built this car for my daughter but she just cant get the hang of a manual transmission, and really im afraid it is just too much car for her to be her first one. i started with decent car that the previous owner had struck a deer with. the damage was only cosmetic having to replace only the passenger t top, hood, passenger fender and front bumper cover. i still have these parts to show the damage and a picture of what it looked like before i started. i did not plan to sell the car nor do i have to but i already have a 2 seater and have a family of five. so while having one 2 seater is impractical .... 2 would be ridiculous, according to my wife lol. there has been a ton of work done , and many late nights that turned into early mornings. as i said earlier, it was intended for my daughter so it was not just thrown together to make a quick buck on. there are new brake pads both front and back and cross drilled rotors up front. previous owner installed f 1 stage 2 clutch. as well as it runs its hard to believe it has 220,000 miles. all it needs is a driver. drive as is or drop in a turbo motor and have a real pocket rocket. even without a turbo its no slouch. call 828 777 6635 for any questions you may have or for a picture of something specific. will consider PARTIAL OR FULL trades on old gm or mopar projects , mid 70s trans am?). this is a 22 year old car and is by no means perfect but would be a great daily driver or perfect for a college student. reserve is priced fairly for this type of car. potential buyers are welcome to come inspect before bidding.

2015 Toyota Yaris
Thu, 25 Sep 2014Advertising firms have done an admirable job convincing consumers that the easiest way to find a best-in-segment car or truck is by looking at a few key metrics. In the most elementary terms, the vehicle with the highest horsepower, most gears in its transmission housing, lowest acceleration times and best fuel economy most certainly must be the class benchmark.
Yet as the commercials and billboards continue to drive that deceitful message, Toyota is betting shoppers in the subcompact segment are a bit more discerning. The Japanese automaker has just launched its updated 2015 Yaris, a three- and five-door offering that bucks the innovation and performance trends by offering what Toyota feels that entry-level buyers actually desire - reliability, practicality and a low sticker price.
It's sweltering in the tropical Hawaiian sun as I check out the deeply refreshed 2015 Yaris SE. This five-door hatchback, a range-topping version of the company's subcompact "sporty hatch" (Toyota's words, not mine), builds on the new-in-2012 generation by wearing new front and rear fascias, redesigned headlights and some attractive new wheels for the upcoming model year.
Toyota mulling Cummins diesel for Tundra?
Mon, 02 Sep 2013When Bloomberg spoke to Toyota USA Sales CEO Kazua Ohara recently, we highlighted his comments on the possible return of the Toyota Supra. However, the interview started with Ohara discussing the Tundra, and how it would take time to pinpoint and hone the pickup truck's brand image in the minds of consumers. That effort could get a boost, with a report in Edmunds saying that Toyota is "evaluating" the addition of a Cummins turbodiesel to the Tundra's engine options.
The Cummins powerplant is one of two options for the moment, the other being a hybrid powertrain. If the oil-burner got the thumbs-up, Toyota would follow the recent example of Nissan, which announced it would put a Cummins turbodiesel into its 2015 Titan. While the two Japanese companies make a closer comparison since they're both talking about Cummins applications in light-duty trucks, if it happens, it could be seen as further diluting the once-exclusive tie-up that Ram trucks has had with Cummins even though Ram has used Cummins in its heavy-duty truck.
Toyota hasn't said when it will decide on which direction to take, but either will be a move for the better in the view of segment watchers; PickupTrucks.com said the first of its top-five fixes for the Tundra would be a better engine, perhaps a diesel-electric hybrid from Toyota's Hino unit. Cummins told Edmunds it can supply a second manufacturer with the 5.0-liter diesel that Nissan will be using, so we wouldn't be surprised to see it end up in a Toyota or somewhere else.
2015 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro
Thu, 23 Oct 2014Despite the earnest efforts of Japanese automakers like Toyota and Nissan, the American pickup truck scene remains wholly dominated by the likes of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler. This is not news. Part of the reason is because of the sheer number of variants offered by US automakers - everything from work-spec base trucks to house-leveling heavy duty models can be had, with a seemingly endless combination of engines, cab sizes, bed lengths and trim levels. It's a hugely profitable business, and though the Japanese automakers still offer competitive fullsize trucks, in terms of sheer volume, they simply don't compete.
But American pickups aren't just about work; there's a huge play aspect involved, too. Look at the desert-storming Ford F-150 SVT Raptor or the Ram Power Wagon - these butch trucks are built with superb off-road prowess in mind, and Detroit's Japanese rivals have once again largely been silent in this segment. Until now.
Introduced at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, Toyota now offers the TRD Pro series of models that, in addition to the crazy-orange Tundra seen here, includes the smaller Tacoma pickup and 4Runner SUV. And this isn't just some pretty appearance package, either - there's honest-to-goodness capability baked into all of the TRD Pro models. Intriguing, for sure, so I recently spent a weekend with the big boy Tundra to see what's what.
