VERY ORIGINAL

48,337 LOW MILES IN GREAT CONDITION. EVERYTHING IS IN TACT TO MAKE A SHOW TRUCK. I HAVE KEPT THIS TRUCK IN IT'S CURRENT CONDITION TO BE AN A+ DRIVER.

I purchased this truck 6-7 years ago. The vehicle had been parked in a garage for some time and the previous owner was hoping to complete a body on restoration but ran out of funds. I purchased the truck for the condition of the body and rust free panels and the odometer reading of 45,000 miles at that time.
prior to driving i did the following at my local Toyota dealer:
* A.R.B. front bumper and Mile Marker winch
* N.O.S. wheels, i had them powder coated
* 2.5 inch O.M.E. LIFT with new shocks and i removed one leaf from each spring assembly to soften the ride
the following are new parts installed prior to driving: radiator, thermostat, fuel pump, hoses, belts, all filters and under the hood hoses. calipers and wheel cylinders, N.O.S. muffler and tail pipe, battery, plugs, wires and  all fluids. a set of B.F.G. T..K.O'S  were installed and all fluids were replaced: brake, power steering, oil, transmission, transfer case, coolant and both differentials were drained and filled.

At this time i drove the vehicle for approximately 200 miles and had the carburetor rebuilt with a Toyota rebuild kit, had the transmission and transfer case pulled and resealed, replaced the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing, replaced the slave cylinder and one drive shaft u-joint. all items were done to bring the Land Cruiser to a "drive cross country" condition.

over the next year or so, i replaced body screws and hardware with C.C.O.T. stainless and re-covered the rear jump seats.

the oil has been changed annually and there has never been cause to add between changes. the vehicle has not had a concern with the use i have given it except for a leaking power steering box that i opted to replace rather than rebuild.
the vehicle does not leak or drip and i keep it in my house garage year round.

i had a radio and marine grade speaker installed about 3 years ago, using the C.B. port in the center console and the speakers i mounted in the rear corners of the cargo area attaching them to the roll bar (no cutting or drilling was done.

the first two years of ownership i did have the top removed in summer months. I found and purchased a set of rust free half doors (used in the FJ's with a lift gate) I had them painted to match and used them when the top was off.  they are included in this sale (paid 700.00 for them prior to painting). i also purchased the vinyl half doors and they are included too.

anything during ownership that the vehicle has needed it got. i would feel very confident driving just about anywhere. I have never taken this vehicle off road or driven in inclement weather.

i have been very careful to maintain it's original condition with the replacement of parts with Toyota products.

all gauges, lights and features work just as designed. the wipers park correctly and have all ranges of use, the blower motor works as it should in all positions.

I am happy to answer any additional questions and would like to have them listed on the Q&A section on the auction page to give the same information to bidders. My decision to sell is strictly due to a lack of time for use. I have several other interests and am looking to make additional room.

the vehicle is in great condition but due to the age i will sell as-is with no warranty.

I have candidly and fairly represented the vehicle. I am selling on my personal account (limited activity) but my retail store has hundreds of transactions with 100% buyer rating so bid with confidence and this will be verified with serious bidders. The reserve is realistic and set to sell.

Transportation is the responsibility o f the buyer.

The winning bidder will be required to make a pay pal deposit of 1,000.00 within 24 hours of auction close and the remaining funds can be cash in person or a cashiers check. All forms of payment will need to clear before i release the vehicle. I would ask that the winning bidder make contact within 48 hours of auction close.

thanks and good luck

Toyota delves into the history of its Land Cruiser

Fri, 06 Sep 2013

One of the longest-produced, most widely distributed vehicles in all of automotive history is also one of its most rugged: the Toyota Land Cruiser. With 60 years of continuous production, 14 different model lines and thousands of variations of the Jeep-like sports utility vehicle, the Land Cruiser became a success worldwide and developed a cult following among enthusiasts here in the US.
We'll be the first to admit that tracing the vehicle's lineage from its humble beginnings as a prototype for Japan's National Police Reserve in 1951 to what it is today isn't an easy task, especially when one considers that the types of Land Cruisers produced traditionally have varied from market to market. For example, the Land Cruiser sold in the US is very different from the US-only 40 series Land Cruiser-inspired FJ Cruiser, which is itself different from the Land Cruiser Prado sold in other world markets.
To cover the Land Cruiser's sixty-plus year history from start to present, someone over at Toyota UK was thoughtful enough to devote a plus-size blog post to it. It's worth a read if you have a spare 10 or 15 minutes - and even if you don't, you can check out our historical gallery above. Enjoy!

Tesla now California's top automotive employer

Fri, 16 May 2014

Tesla has knocked off Toyota as the biggest auto employer in the state of California, employing over 6,000 people to the Japanese company's 5,300. That lead is only likely to grow, as the EV manufacturer prepares to add another 500 jobs by the end of the year, and as Toyota begins its relocation to its new North American headquarters in Texas. The news comes barely a week after the company announced a $50 million loss during the first quarter of 2014.
Tesla's statewide employment could be set to double, beyond even 6,500 people, if it follows through on rumors to construct its eagerly awaited gigafactory in the Golden State. The $5-billion venture could add another 6,500 employees, making Tesla not just the largest automotive employer in the state, but making it one of the largest employers in the state full stop.
The investment of Tesla and its founder (and real-life Tony Stark), Elon Musk, has been substantial. The company has added 3,000 employees in the state since 2013, reopening the Toyota and General Motors joint-venture factory that use to be known as NUMMI in 2009 and constructing a design studio in Los Angeles, all in addition to its Palo Alto headquarters.

Toyota NA CEO says his excitement for hydrogen sedan is rising

Fri, Apr 4 2014

Toyota has an undeniable vested interest in seeing its hydrogen sedan succeed when it goes on sale in the US next year, so it's no surprise that the company's North American CEO, Jim Lentz, says that he's got more hope for the car now than ever before. And if we remember ways that others in the company, like Bob Carter, have loudly sung hydrogen's praises, we have to assume that positivity is running awful high in Torrance. In fact, Lentz said that the US side of the company is far more excited by the H2 car than colleagues in Japan. Speaking at The Wall Street Journal's ECO:nomics conference in Santa Barbara, CA this week, Lentz said: After we've seen the product, understand its range, its driving dynamics, its refueling, we're a lot more bullish than Japan - probably about fivefold more bullish. It's just a question of how many can be produced now. Well, we've driven this car, and we still feel that Toyota is placing a big bet on the technology. One important issue is cost, but Lentz would not say exactly how much the car costs to make or what it will be priced at. He did say, though, that the production cost has dropped by 95 percent from the $1 million price tag the car wore ten years ago. That hints at a production cost of around $50,000. Lentz also said he thinks it will take at least a decade for hydrogen vehicles to hit sales of 500,000 per year in the US. Speaking to Bloomberg, he said: Their acceptance could get off to a quicker start than the hybrids did. I think you're going to see a lot more marketing of the concept of fuel cell much sooner than you did for hybrids, because basically the whole industry is behind it.
