Hello, let me start by saying that I realize how stressful it can be to buy anything sight un-seen. I don't think a paragraph & 1 or 2 pictures is enough to accurately describe an item of any kind, let alone a motor vehicle. I understand that you may be in a different state or even a different Country & therefore are unable to come view this RARE Land Cruiser in person. I want you to know everything I know about anything I offer for sale. For that reason, my postings tend to be a little on the long side. I also post 24 super sized pictures. Please take the time to read the item description & view the pictures. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. All will be answered promptly. I have sold vehicles to buyers all over the world. All members who have bought from me have been extremely pleased with my performance & with the items they have purchased from me, I'm sure you will be as well.

Description- THIS IS A HARD TO FIND MODEL!!!!! This Toyota came equipped with factory front & rear electric LOCKERS! Very very rare!

 I purchased this FJ80 two years ago to use as a parts vehicle for another Cruiser I had. 99% of the parts on this Toyota a usable, as it was being driven daily when the previous owner had her accident. I ended up selling my other FJ without ever taking a single part from this one. I kept it with the plans to turn it into a street legal, rock crawler / mud buggy / Off-Road rig. With very little effort & far less expense, you would have a toy that is way more capable & a lot more fun than a Polaris RZR! This buggy will be street legal all over the World! These Cruisers are capable of covering some of the roughest ground on Earth. Take it coast to coast. Explore South America. Or the Yukon! Many people take them on African Safari or to the Australian Outback. They are super tough vehicles!

 The engine  in this one is extremely tight & still runs great, even after sitting for 2 years! As you can see, this vehicle has been wrecked. The previous owner hit a concrete culvert with the front right tire. The impact was hard enough to pull the CV ball right out of the end of the front axle housing on that side. It bowed the housing slightly but the locker still works as it should. It also bent the control arm on the right front. No mounting points show damage. This is a case of... it looks worse than it really is... I have the front hub put back together to allow the vehicle to drive on & off of a trailer or transporter for shipping. However, there is no steering. The front differential housing will need to be replaced, should you decide to rebuild this vehicle. All of the internals seem to be fine. The brakes are working.

 The frame does not appear to have been bent or tweaked at all. The only real damage seems to have been to the right front inner fender / fender support, the fender itself, the front bumper & other misc front end trim. And of course, the axle housing & control arm. The driver hit the windshield so it is broken & in the rear floor board.

 There is various other damage around the body which appears to have beem prior to the accident. It looks bad but I believe the truck can be put back on the road without much effort.

 The interior is all there, including the jump seats. I had a tarp over the windshield but it appears some moisture & leaves etc... still got in. The carpet, front seat covers, front door panels etc... show signs of water damage. Yet, the engine controls were NOT damaged. The truck will still fire right up & run smooth with no smoke, knocks, ticks, etc... And there are NO check engine or other warning lights on. The electric locker control switch works as it should. As do the locker indicator lights. Both the front & rear electric lockers are working as they should.

 The transmission will take forward & reverse gears. The transfer case shifts as it should.

 Remember, this vehicle was female owned & daily driven up until the day of the crash.

Drivetrain- This vehicle is powered by the legendary 4.5 liter, in-line 6-cylinder, fuel injected 1FZ-FE gasoline powered engine. Toyota has been building some form of this engine since the early 1960's. They have improved & refined their design over the last decades until finally unveiling their masterpiece with this version. It is one of the most powerful & definitely the most reliable of them all. It performs with all the guts you need to tackle tough terrain, yet still enjoys AMAZING fuel economy!

This Cruiser is showing a very low 196,712 miles. This engine runs as good as the day it was born. I can find no problems at all. No hard starting even on the coldest mornings. You can let this car sit for days & go out, hit the key & this big 6 cylinder instantly comes to life. The oil pressure comes right up. I see no major fluid leaks. There are no abnormal noises. Nothing but smooth power.... Even on 2 year old gas!

I am a factory trained Toyota Technician & have personally serviced cruisers with well over 700,000 miles that were still going strong without ever having had any major repairs.

The power plant in this FJ should take you many more dependable miles!

The transmissions in these Cruisers are as tough as everything else. I have never seen one with a transmission problem, EVER.

 And you don't see many with the rare locker option.

Mechanically this entire vehicle seems to be in excellent condition.

Body & Frame- This is a life long Southern vehicle so there is absolutely no rust or corrosion on anything anywhere. The door, hood, trunk hinges & latches are nice & tight. The under side of the vehicle is dirty but everything is tight & free from corrosion.

Options- It would take me an hour to list of of the options found on this Flagship Toyota. With the presence of the extremely rare factory lockers, you can bet that it has EVERY single option you could get in 1994!

Tires & Wheels- This SUV is equipped with a set of factory 15 inch, alloy wheels. All four are in good condition! No curb rash or bent places. All tires hold air but are worn. The factory spare looks as if it has never touched the ground. The factory jack & tool kit are present.

Title- I have a clean, clear, fully transferable GA title on this vehicle. The accident was not reported to the police or insurance & thus there are no records of it on CarFax or AutoCheck. Everything is clean. You can transfer ownership right now. With a little work this Cruiser will be ready for the road in no time. This is my personal vehicle so there will be no tax. I DO NOT charge a doc fee or any other fees like most sellers on eBay do. What you bid is what you pay.

* This is a TRUE auction!

* NO RESERVE!

* Low starting bid!

* You set the final price!

* Bid what you think the Cruiser is worth to you!

* If you are the high bidder at the end... YOU WIN!

BIDDING- Please only bid what you are prepared to pay for this vehicle. Anyone wishing to inspect the it or have it inspected is welcome to do so but inspections must be completed prior to bidding & prior to auction's end. If you have little or no feedback please contact me prior to bidding. I realize everyone has to start somewhere & welcome your business but I must verify that you are a serious buyer if you have little or no buying history. I have encountered a couple of crooks/ scammers here on eBay who have cost me both time & money. This will no longer be tolerated so if you are not a SERIOUS buyer, PLEASE MOVE ON. All members with a genuine interest in this vehicle are more than welcome to ask questions. All will be answered promptly. If you look at my feedback comments you will see that all of the REAL buyers have been very happy after dealing with me. Many of the comments are from people who have been very happy with Cruisers they have bought from me.

SHIPPING- Shipping costs & arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. However, I have assisted buyers & their shippers in the pickup of several vehicles over the years. I can recommend several shippers who have performed well for buyers in the past but you will have to make your own arrangements with them. I will work with you & your shipper so that they can get this SUV to you as fast & cost effectively as possible. However, no matter where you live or how you choose to pay, the legal point of sell will be here in Jackson County Georgia as that is where I live & where the vehicle is located. As always, you are more than welcome to pick this vehicle up in person. I can assist in loading it on your trailer at no charge.

This Toyota Land Cruiser FJ 80 is truly a rare find. These trucks are TOUGH & stand the test of time! This one needs some work but it is a great start to an amazing rig! Remember... NO RESERVE!

Thanks for your interest in my Landcruiser!

I hope you win!! JD

Tokyo wants 6k fuel-cell cars from Toyota and Honda for 2020 Olympics

Wed, Jan 21 2015

Japan aims to have greener cars on its roads in time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and the city government there is putting some serious money on the table to make sure that the transformation happens in time. The push could jump start sales of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCEVs) in the metropolis and would portray the Asian country as a leader in the cutting-edge tech. The city is setting aside 45.2 billion yen ($385 million) to offer subsidies for people buying FCEVs and to build 35 hydrogen refueling stations to keep them going, according to Bloomberg. The local government is in talks with Toyota and Honda to have 6,000 fuel cell vehicles on the road in time for the games. These generally expensive factors are often considered some of the biggest hurdles for the alternative fuel to take hold. Beyond the 2020 games, the Tokyo government has even more aggressive plans for the alternative fuel. The city's audacious goal is to have 100,000 FCEVs, 100 hydrogen-fueled buses and 80 refueling stations in the capital by 2025, according to Bloomberg. The city wants to offer FCEV buyers incentives as much as about 3 million yen ($25,325) with a third of that money coming from the Tokyo government and the rest from the national government, according to Bloomberg. Furthermore, subsides on building refueling stations could be as high as 80 percent in Tokyo, which puts costs more in line with building a traditional gas station. It appears that the demand is already building to make Tokyo's goal a reality. Toyota has received around 1,500 orders for the Mirai, according to Bloomberg. Although, the majority have come from the country's government or fleets. To meet the higher-than-expected demand, the automaker expanded its production facilities by adding two more assembly lines. The launch of Honda's latest FCEV was recently pushed back until March 2016, a year later than originally expected. Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ successor canceled?

Tue, Jan 29 2019

Rumors indicate that the Toyota 86 is done for. Japanese Nostalgic Car is quoting Japanese sources as saying Toyota and Subaru have parted ways regarding the 86 and that the current car's replacement is off the table. According to JNC, the Japanese magazine Best Car is readying a report that the 86/BRZ successor has been canceled. JNC also considers the fact that in Japan, there will be a four-cylinder, 197-horsepower version of the new Supra, ready to continue where the 86 will leave the market. Back in 2016 the automaker seemingly confirmed that a replacement for the rear-drive car was under development, but plans can change and with a cheaper Supra version for sale in markets outside the U.S., we have to wonder if the 86 replacement has been shelved. The 86, while balanced, has only received mild enhancements and not a lot of extra power during its near-decade long time on the market, and it isn't such a strong seller that it would necessarily merit the effort of Toyota developing a successor on its own, particularly without the help of a partner like Subaru or BMW. At the same time, Autocar quotes Toyota boss Akio Toyoda on the Supra: "At the end of the day, is there anything better than a tight rear-wheel-drive sports car? I hope this won't be the last Toyota sports car you see from us in the future." While that is far from a solid statement of Toyota's future intent, it paves the way to offerings below the Supra, and shows how much the company boss cares about driver involvement. There is a distinct possibility that the company will re-introduce the MR2 as an electrified, rear-drive sports car – which could still be a joint venture with Subaru, as Japanese Nostalgic Car theorizes. Whatever's in the pipeline – and we hope there is something in the pipeline – it seems Toyota's heart is in the right place: driving the rear wheels. Related Video:
