1997 Toyota Land Cruiser Full Time 4WD
Clean Title, Pink In Hand. This is your opportunity to have a nicer Land Cruiser than your friends.
Rare 40th Anniversary Edition
*Sorry no diff locks on this one*

Here's your chance to own an Iconic truck. This is the last year of this body style and they are very difficult to find in this good of condition. The body and interior are overall in very good condition, just a few minor dings/scratches here and there, see pics. Previous owner had this thing for 14 years and all owners have kept it in the garage since new, notice there's no paint fade like you usually see with these model Land Cruisers. To my knowledge there has only been three total owners of this vehicle.

This truck also has a fully boxed frame making it a very solid and safe vehicle. These things are built like tanks. Bullet proof engine and drive terrain, 1 ton axels front and rear (plenty strong enough to handle 35" tires. Famous straight six motor - this is one of the most reliable engines Toyota has EVER built. 300K+ miles is common place on these things, just ask any Land Cruiser enthusiast.

This truck even has the orignal tools, jack, socket set, etc. These are all very rare to find still with the truck, they usually end up in someones garage and never follow the truck.

Cruiser has a lot of new items:
- New BFG All Terrain Tires (top rated for snow) - $1200
- New Alternator
- New air filter hose
- Just had the oil changed, new oil filter, etc. I will smog for buyer
- New battery
- In total I've probably put in over $2000 into the truck in the last year and a half

Fully Loaded! Features Include:<br>
- Power everything: steering, windows, seats, door locks
- Sun roof
- Cruiser control
- Tilt wheel
- Tinted windows
- Hitch set up
- Dual  power seats
- A/C & heater work great
- Alloy wheels, with all of the center caps (those usually tend to go missing)
- Leather Interior, great condition for its age.
- Two tone leather that only came with the 40th Anniversary Edition
- Three row seating, 7 passenger
- Removable third row for extra storage
- Roof rack (stock)
- CD Changer & AM/FM Radio (stock)
- Automatic transmission
- Full Sized Spare
- Straight axle front end
- Does come with the original floor mats, they're just not in the pics.

There's only a few minor problems:
- Slight oil leak/consumption. I only have to add a quart a couple of times between oil changes, every 1500 miles or so.
- Power antenna button doesn't work. My mechanic told me it should be an easy fix, but it's not that big of a deal to me. All other power itmes work!
- Sometimes has a squeek in the steering collumn when turning (usually when its cold), I looked it up on forums, just needs to have some grease put on underneath the steering wheel somewhere.
- Driver side visor hangs a little low, doesn't bother me, but if your over 6' tall it might.
- Sometimes the rear passenger side door light comes on as if the door is open even thought it is closed
- That's about all I can think of, really is in great running/mechanical condition.

This truck will make a great daily driver, family car, weekend warrior, camping truck, ski/snow board rig, fishing & hunting truck, build your rock crawler, etc. Your wish is it's command! You will love this Land Cruiser. SOLID SOLID TRUCK. Message with any questions. Thanks for looking.

Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race Scion FR-S [w/video]

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Toyota has been hosting its Pro/Celebrity race at the Toyota Grand Prix on Long Beach since 1977. The charity event, which has raised millions of dollars over the years, traditionally pits Hollywood celebrities against professional athletes (including race car drivers) on the full Grand Prix course in modified street vehicles. The short, sprint-style race is popular with the crowds as the amateur drivers race uninhibited - the result is an action-packed race with plenty of excitement and automotive... er... carnage.
Over the decades, the drivers have raced a variety of Toyota products including last year's front-wheel-drive Scion tC. But this year, Toyota announced at the Chicago Auto Show that the new rear-wheel-drive Scion FR-S would be stepping up to the plate. The good news only became better when Toyota Motorsports invited us out to Southern California's Willow Springs Raceway (the same circuit where the drivers train and practice) to be one of the first behind the wheel.

GT Academy returns, and why Gran Turismo 6 demands a pedal/wheel setup

Fri, 18 Apr 2014

The path to become a racing driver is a difficult one. It requires starting early, with karts, and then building up through the years and if you're really, really good (and really, really lucky), a team will notice you and sign you up. Or, you know, you could just become really good at Gran Turismo, and beat out other like-minded fanatics for a seat in the GT Academy.
The racing school, which culls its students from the ranks of Gran Turismo players has already pumped out successful racers, most notably, Lucas Ordoñez, who has a second and third-place finish under his belt at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. With the 2014 GT Academy kicking off April 21 and running through June 16, you could have a chance to be the next Ordoñez.
That won't be easy, though. We recently had a playthrough on GT6 the proper way - with a racing seat, pedals and a steering wheel, complete with column-mounted paddles. (Our setup looked just like the one you see above, though that image is from E3.) In other words, it was as close to driving an actual car as most console games can get.

Scion FR-S Convertible (in Toyota GT86 form) spied in South Africa

Fri, 15 Feb 2013

Though the eventual existence of a convertible version of the Toyota GT86 (and its Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ versions for America) is a no-brainer, we've yet to get a glimpse of the real-deal car until now.
Spotted in Cape Town, South Africa, of all places, this completely undisguised GT86 convertible seems to be in a remarkably advanced state of development. The image seen here was obviously sniped from quite a distance and without the aid of a powerful lens, but we can still make out a production-ready looking piece of rear bodywork for the convertible top to hide away in, as well as a functioning trunk lid. It's hard to make out with any certainty, based on this evidence, but there does seem to be space retained behind the front seats for two, small rear chairs.
With the first car spotted, we'd expect to seem some more and better images of it flow through in the near future, and if not, Toyota has already confirmed a concept version for next month's Geneva Motor Show, dubbed FT-86 Open, so stay tuned. For now, click through to the FT86Club.com forum to have a slightly closer look at the images.
