1984 Toyota Land Cruiser Fj-60 Landcruiser 4 Wheel Drive Very Good Condition on 2040-cars
Mammoth Lakes, California, United States
|
1984 Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser with a clear title. Original mileage 189,359 Purchased from the original owner, sold to my brother then I bought it back. A non smoking vehicle since new Has the original window sticker from Downey Toyota in Los Angeles, CA. California car since new. Rugged, simple, reliable and fun. Add to that room to spare and you may have the ultimate sport utility vehicle. The Land Cruiser has always served to demonstrate Toyota’s engineering and design talents. I think the FJ60 series was one of Toyota's finest vehicles. Outdoor enthusiasts certainly admire this vehicle. It’s a timeless design. Vehicle has been well maintained and garaged since new. No Rust. Original paint is in very good condition. One small dent in the back bumper (see photo of the back bumper where the flag is) and a tiny one on the hood (so small I could not it to show up in the pictures). Engine does not burn any oil (recent smog check was clean). Original owner added an extra leaf spring to the suspension (fair job), CD player (works well but a poor installation. No cutting to the dash), rear wind deflector, front grill guard, off road lights and the reflectors seen on the front doors cover 2 small holes from larger mirrors that he installed and then went back to stock mirrors. Interior is original with the front seats covered since new (a small tear in the vinyl on the side of the drivers seat). Original headliner, paint and carpet is in very good condition. Includes original manual and service booklet, tool kit in bag, window sticker, spare. The rims are an original dealer option. What has been replaced recently: Brand new stock size tires, rebuilt carb, belts, battery, starter, fuel pump, front brakes and rotors, brake and clutch master cylinders, rear pinion seal, front axle seals. Full tune up. What it could use in the future: Vehicle has a small drip from the rear main seal, power steering pump has to be topped off sometimes, AC blows cool air (not ice cold) and could use a charge. 2 dash light bulbs are burned out. Other than these issues I can't think of anything else that needs to be done. This has been my daily driver and I would not hesitate to get in and drive it anywhere. I will miss it and hope that I am doing the right thing by selling it. However, it is a 30 year old vehicle and should be looked at as such. Vehicle is sold as is and no warranty or representation is implied. It is one of the nicer Land Cruisers I have seen and I get comments on it every time I drive it. Please look at the photos and ask questions before you bid. Bidders with no feed back or under 18 years of age will be excluded unless they contact me first. If I was buying a vehicle, I would look at it before hand and you are welcome to do so. I welcome a buyers inspection. If you plan to have a buyer's inspection it must be done prior to auction end. Buyer must pickup vehicle or arrange shipping at buyer's cost. Lucky buyer will provide a deposit of $500.00 (non refundable)at end of auction and the remainder in cash, certified check or wire transfer directly to the bank. Title and vehicle will be held until full payment has cleared. |

How new car shortages may impact your buying experience
Wed, 04 Sep 2013If you want further proof that the auto industry is bouncing back, look no further than the empty lots and forecourts of your local dealership. According to a story by The Wall Street Journal, continued high demand for mainstream cars is overtaxing automakers' ability to produce enough models. Several dealers interviewed for the story are reporting two-week supplies as opposed to the typical two-month allocations.
With sales expected to hit 1.4 million units when August numbers arrive shortly and incentive spending down to its lowest amount since January, these limited supplies are pushing prices even higher. For example, according to the WSJ, the average price of a Ford Fusion is up past $26,000. Unfortunately, it's difficult for manufacturers to increase production quickly. If it invests in its facilities, as many manufacturers have done, it risks wasting cash if growth suddenly slows. At the same time, the momentum gained over the past several years could be short lived if vehicle supplies continue to dwindle. "Manufacturers are in a precarious situation," notes Karl Brauer, a senior director at Kelley Blue Book.
Low interest rates and a wealth of desirable features are also allowing customers to purchase more expensive vehicles while justifying their higher overall price tags, a situation that is compounding supply shortages. Even now, during the annual end-of-summer clearance season, deals on new vehicles are remarkably difficult to come by. According to the report, the Toyota Corolla is in a self-inflicted state of shortage, as Toyota clears out inventory in anticipation of the new 2014 generation arriving in dealers. Ford's supplies should rebound as Fusion production comes on line at its Flat Rock, Michigan factory. The Chevrolet Impala, Honda Odyssey, Civic, and Accord and Subaru Forester are also facing shortages.
Recharge Wrap-up: Audi R18 e-tron Quattro wins WEC opener, Toyota Mirai goes to DC
Tue, Apr 14 2015The Audi R18 e-tron Quattro has won the World Endurance Championship season opener at Silverstone. Drivers Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer piloted the number 7 hybrid racecar to a hard-fought win in the six-hour UK race. "This victory is a dream start of the season and a great reward for the whole squad for the hard work last winter," says Audi Motorsport boss Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, congratulating the team. Audi's second R18 took fifth place in the race after a couple of unscheduled pit stops ate up precious time. Read more in the press release from Audi, below. Mini and Spanish designer Jaime Hayon are presenting new versions of the Mini Citysurfer electric scooter concept at Salone del Mobile in Milan, Italy. The installation, called "Urban Perspectives" depicts an idea of the future of urban mobility. The imaginary living space houses two examples of the Citysurfer concept designed by Hayon. The first is painted to resemble blue and while porcelain, with dots and stripes to give it an upbeat look. The second uses more upscale materials like anodized metal, copper and leather to blend modern and classical elements. The foldable Citysurfer scooter can travel 10 to 15 miles on a charge, and is designed fit and charge inside the trunk of a Mini Cooper. Read more from Mini. Tesla has announced the locations of its first Superchargers in Australia. It will install eight charging booths at the Goulburn Visitor's Centre, about 120 miles southwest of Sydney. The Goulburn superchargers will be powered by renewable energy. Tesla plans to install a network of Superchargers in cities along the route connecting the Sunshine Coast north of Brisbane south to Melbourne. Read more at Clean Technica. The Toyota Mirai will be on display at the National Mall in Washington DC to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Earth Day. Toyota is a sponsor of Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day from April 17 to 19, which will include speakers, musical performances and, of course, Toyota's new hydrogen fuel cell car. "Earth Day 2015 is a great platform to educate the public about hydrogen fuel cell technology and the potential of hydrogen as a future fuel," says Toyota's Bob Carter. Also in April, Toyota will continue to enlighten the public about the Mirai and hydrogen technology in Union Square Park in New York on April 19, and at Waterkeeper Alliance's "Keep it Clean" comedy event in Los Angeles on April 22. How Charlotte lost to Plano without even knowing it was dealing with Toyota
Thu, 08 May 2014With Toyota set to relocate its North American headquarters to the Dallas, TX suburb of Plano following a top-secret, 100-city search, the cities that missed out can now begin asking themselves what happened during a process they apparently knew little about.
That's a particularly brutal task for Charlotte, which, according to North Carolina's Secretary of Commerce, Sharon Decker, finished second to Plano. While Toyota has been fairly open about what it was looking for in a new headquarters city - direct flights to Japan, proximity to its US production facilities, a lower cost of living, high-quality educational facilities and finding a neutral site suitable to the California, Kentucky and New York-based employees that would be relocated - it's been less open about how the finalist cities, which also included Atlanta and Denver, stacked up against each other.
The Charlotte Observer has a few ideas. Part of the problem is the distinct lack of direct flights between Charlotte and Asia. US Airways, which operates a hub at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport, doesn't fly to Asia.
