1976 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40

Great fj40 survivor, has not ever been molested and is in mostly original condition.  Very little rust, (common spots see pics) doors open and close nice and solid.  Looks like previous owner gave what I would consider a crappy paint job, there are some drips and fading.  I understand it came out of AZ then CA.   The undercarriage looks great, no drips no rust just the surface stuff and not bad at all.  Under the rubber mats inside look amazingly clean, never been painted inside very clean original paint.  Some basic scratches in the back cargo area with surface rust at the jam.  The barn doors are in great shape as well, open and close great (weather stripping coming off on one door)  4 wheel drive works great,  this is a great driver as is.

Runs and Drives great, goes though all gears perfect feel firm.
All glass is good.
New seat covers, excellent quality
New headliner
New door window jam felt (oem type pricy) upper part of door.
Rear Heater
Every thing is in working order, horn, lights, wipers etc.  2 gauges sometimes do not work (temp. oil)
Great brakes (e-brake works great as well)
T Case shifter handle is missing
Shifter boots on floor could be replaced (torn)
 New header and complete exhaust
Emissions has been disconnected but is all there
Comes with the original jump seats (the hinge part on them are broken and I have them in storage)
Good almost new (31x10x15) tires
Wish I could just keep it but it just sits around so I have decided to let it go.   I have a very reasonable reserve set on it, lower than what I have seen most of these in this condition go for.  If you have no feed back I will cancel your bid, too many scammers out there.  I will do what I can to help with shipping.  A $500 paypal deposit at end of auction within 24 hours will be due.  Balance within 5 days by either check (my bank must clear it b4 release of vehicle and can take some time) or cash in person or bank wire works best.
Only serious bidders, I will not be scammed so don't try and waste my time!

2015 Toyota Camry

Mon, 22 Sep 2014

Every car has its definitive year. Whether it be the Chevrolet Corvette, the Ford Mustang, or yes, even the ubiquitous Toyota Camry, 10.2 million of which have been sold since 1983, every car has its year. For the Camry, that year was 1992. With son-of-Lexus styling, a clear sense of purpose and a parent company that had hit its stride as the purveyor of faultlessly reliable family transportation devices, the Camry got its legs in 1992. It's a car that even your mom is likely to remember, even if she never owned one herself.
The Camry you see here represents the closest Toyota has come to emulating the magic formula that made the 1992 model the stuff of legends. Compared to the 2014 model, some 2000 of the car's 6,000 parts are new, most of them involving things you can see or touch (on the outside, for example, only the roof carries over from 2014).
It's not a full redesign, but nevertheless it's a stunning development considering the predecessor upon which it's based only survived two model years. That's a testament to both the hyper-competitive nature of the family sedan segment and the lukewarm critical response that the outgoing car garnered. But that's in the past now - after driving this 2015 model, we suspect the new car's changes will be thorough enough to continue pulling in new customers by the hundreds of thousands each year for the foreseeable future.

2015 Toyota Camry targeting 'more emotional' design

Sun, 19 Jan 2014

There are many ways to describe the Toyota Camry: "comfortable," "economical," "affordable," "reliable" and "dull as a bucket of mayonnaise" would all be accurate. It's this last one that the Japanese brand is seeking to change. While we aren't expecting it to suddenly sprout a high-revving V8, a rear-drive layout or razor-sharp handling, a report from Bloomberg suggests we should at least expect a more evocative design from one of the best-selling cars in the country.
The next Camry update, due for 2015, should have a "more emotional, more impactful design," says Kevin Hunter, head of Toyota's US design studio. That's according to Bloomberg, who caught up with the styling boss at this week's Detroit Auto Show. "Camry's taken some hits on styling, but it's still selling well. But we need to create better design for Camry in the future."

Toyota Camry to go turbo

Mon, Jul 27 2015

As automakers strive to meet regulations, turbocharging is rapidly becoming the norm whether looking at pickups, sports cars or family sedans. However, Toyota remains a stalwart to the changing tide, and for the time being a trip into one of the brand's dealers shows nary a hint of forced induction – probably not for long, though. With models like the Lexus NX 200t and forthcoming IS 200t pointing the way, a big shift is afoot for one of the Japanese automaker's most popular products. Obviously, Toyota is no stranger to forced induction for performance applications like the turbocharged models of the Supra and MR2 in the '90s. But rather than reducing lap times, the latest application is more about improving emissions and fuel economy. According to Automotive News, the Camry is getting a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder in the near future as a replacement for its V6 engine option. The 3.5-liter six currently in the venerable sedan already makes 268 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque, versus 235 hp and 258 lb-ft in the NX 200t or 241 hp and 258 lb-ft in the IS from the new four. The base four-cylinder also might receive some upgrades. It could grow larger and run on the Atkinson cycle to find improvements, according to Automotive News. There might be a move towards CVTs, as well. Toyota is hardly alone in the shift towards forced induction. Honda is known to have a 1.5-liter turbo mill on the way for the next-gen Civic. In addition, that engine might find its way into the Accord and CR-V as well, according to Automotive News. Among the major Japanese automakers, only Nissan is taking a more measured approach towards forced induction in mainstream models. Rather than going all-in on turbos, the company is expected to shift more of its engines to direct injection to go after fuel economy gains.
