1976 FJ40 LAND CRUISER. SPENT MUCH OF ITS LIFE IN CALIFORNIA. HAS SOME RUST IN TYPICAL SPOTS. THERE ARE TWO SPOTS ON THE QUARTER PANELS WHERE A BRACE IS WELED ON ON THE BACK SIDE. THE BIB HAS RUST BUT I HAVE ANOTHER FROM A 1979 THAT WILL I WILL INCLUDE. THERE IS RUST ON FRONT FENDERSWHERE A BRACE IS WELDED ON THE BACK SIDE. THEY ARE STILL ROCK SOLID BUT NEED COSMETIC ATTENTION. I WILLINCLUDE A BRAND NEW PASSENGER FENDER FROM SPECTER OFF ROADFLOORS ARE MINT BODY ON THIS TRUCK IS BETTER THAN 95 PERCENT OF ONES YOU WILL FIND IN THE MIDWEST. .. THE WIND SHIELD FRAME HAS A BROKEN WIND SHIELD. YOU CAN IETHER HAVE THE ORIGINAL OR A GOOD ONE FROM A 1979 WITH GOOD GLASS. Toyota recalls 4,000 Tacoma pickups over valve springs

When you build as many cars and trucks as Toyota does, you're bound to run into the occasional recall. In the past month alone, the Japanese auto giant has recalled over 800,000 Camry, Avalon and Venza models over problems with the air-conditioning units, and 10,000 more before that over windshield wiper issues. Now Toyota has issued another recall notice, but this time for far fewer vehicles.
The recall revolves around the engine valve springs in the 2013 and 2014 Tacoma, specifically those fitted with the standard 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine and not the optional 4.0-liter V6. The issue is that the valve springs are prone to cracking and breaking over time, and results from improper maintenance of the manufacturing equipment used by one of the two suppliers that outfit Toyota with the components in question.
All told, some 4,000 vehicles will be subject to the voluntary recall, the owners of which will receive notice by mail. If you think that could be you and want to get a jump on the problem, you can read the announcement below and call Toyota yourself.

Honda scores big in Automobile Advertising of the Year Awards [w/videos]

This year the Detroit Auto Show didn't just celebrate the automobile, it celebrated how we find out about the automobile, too. Partnering The One Club, this year introduced the 2014 One Show Automobile Advertising of the Year Award to Cobo Hall, celebrating winners in five different categories of advertising: broadcast television, online, interactive, experiential, and print/outdoor. Winners in those categories were judged by 50 creative directors and journalists, while a Public Choice category was chosen from among nearly 20,000 online votes.
Honda walked off with three of the six awards, its Hands spot taking Broadcast honors, its Sound of Honda getting the Online category and Illusions winning Public Choice. Hyundai made the grade in Interactive with Driveway Decision Maker, Fiat captured Print/Outdoor with its "Letters" ad, and Toyota's Tundra Endeavor Campaign spot and BMW's A Window into the Near Future were co-winners for Experiential.
