HERE IS A DRY SOUTHWEST NEW MEXICO LAND CRUISER.
THERE ARE PLENTY OF PICS TO SHOW THAT THIS TRUCK IS BASICALLY RUST FREE EXCEPT FOR A TINY BIT ON BACK CORNERS OF TUB. THIS TRUCK HAS HAD A CHEVY 350 CONVERSION MATED TO THE FACTORY 3 SPEED TRANNY THE TRUCK CAME WITH. THE MAN I GOT THE TRUCK FROM DID THE CONVERSION. HE BOUGHT A GOODWRENCH ENGINE FROM A CHEVROLET DEALER (I HAVE THE RECEIPT FOR THE ENGINE) . I BELIEVE THE ENGINE PROBABLY DOESN'T HAVE MORE THAN 2000 MILES ON IT. THE CRUISER RUNS AND DRIVES GOOD 4X4 WORKS AS IT SHOULD. I REPLACED THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE BREAKS ARE WORKING GREAT.
THE CRUISER HAS OVERSIZED TIRES AND SHOCKS BUT DOES NOT HAVE A LIFT KIT ON IT. IT DOES NOT HAVE POWER STEERING. DOES NOT REALLY SEEM TO NEED IT WHILE DRIVING. THE FRONT SEATS HAVE BEEN CHANGED AND ARE IN GOOD USABLE CONDITION, JUMP SEAT ARE IN VERY NICE SHAPE. THE CRUISER'S ORIGINAL COLOR WAS RED WHICH CAN BE SEEN FROM SOME OF THE FLAKED OFF GREEN PAINT. THE CURRENT PAINT JOB IS PROBABLY 10 OR 15 YEARS OLD. ALL THE GLASS IS GOOD IN THE CRUISER. IT HAS RUBBER MATS THROUGHOUT THE INTERIOR . THIS TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN RHINO LINED. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT LAND CRUISER FOR RESTORE OR JUST TO GO HAVE FUN WITH. THE SPEEDOMETER SAY AROUND 52000 MILES AND THE TITLE STATES EXEMPT SO I DON'T KNOW IF THE MILES ARE EXACT OR NOT.
AT ONE POINT I THOUGHT I WOULD LIKE TO CONVERT THE TRUCK BACK TO IT'S ORIGINAL STYLE ENGINE, SO I FOUND A GOOD SOUND ENGINE AND BOUGHT IT. IF YOU WOULD LIKE THAT ENGINE AND YOU ARE THE WINNING BIDDER I WILL SELL IT FOR WHAT I PAID FOR IT $600.00, THAT WOULD BE ABOVE THE SALE PRICE OF THE CRUISER. IF YOU ARE THE BUYER THE ENGINE CAN BE LOADED INTO THE BACK OF THE CRUISER.
IF YOU ARE THE WINNING BIDDER:
YOU HAVE 24 HOURS TO CONTACT ME. I REQUIRE A $1500.00 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT WITHIN 3 DAYS THE REMAINDER MUST BE PAID WITHIN 5 DAYS OF THE CLOSE OF THE AUCTION. THE ACCEPTABLE PAYMENT METHOD IS BANK WIRE OR CASH IN PERSON. THE TRUCK HAS GOOD CLEAR TITLE.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK BEFORE YOU BID, YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME CHECK THE VEHICLE OUT. YOU CAN ALSO HAVE SOMEONE ELSE COME AND INSPECT IT FOR YOU.
THANK YOU AND HAPPY BIDDING.

NHTSA investigating 30,000 Toyota Camry Hybrids for brake assist problems
Mon, Jan 27 2014Older model Toyota Camry Hybrids are under investigation by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for potential braking problems. Enough complaints have poured into the NHTSA website that the agency is now taking a look at the problem, which could affect around 30,000 vehicles from the 2007 and 2008 model years. According to Reuters, 59 complaints have been submitted revolving around an "intermittent loss of assisted braking" which means the car takes longer to stop. Interestingly, the rate of complaints is increasing. Toyota is reportedly cooperating with NHTSA and there has not yet been an official recall on the Camry Hybrids. In 2006, Toyota said Brake Assist was "an electronic function that senses an emergency stop and applies increased braking power once the driver touches the brake pedal." When Toyota unveiled the 2007 Camry Hybrid, it proudly stated that the new Brake Assist function would be standard. Other Toyota hybrids have had problems with their brakes in the past, including the 2010 Prius and Lexus HS 250h hybrid. You can read some of the complaints about Brake Assist in the Camry Hybrids to the NHTSA here. People are saying that the "Check VSC" lights can come on before the brakes loose some of their power and a lot of them are being quoted repair costs of over $3,000 by Toyota dealers. Nissan, Toyota offering payment deferments to people affected by government shutdown
Tue, 15 Oct 2013Two weeks into the budget-related government shutdown and it sounds like some progress is finally being made, but that doesn't really help furloughed government employees pay their bills. To help out a little, Nissan and Toyota are joining Hyundai with offering payment deferments to current owners and lessees.
In a release, a Nissan spokesperson said the company is "sympathetic to any of our customers who find themselves in difficult financial circumstances - many times outside of their control."
Both Japanese automakers are allowing payment extensions of up to 90 days without penalties or fees. Unlike the Hyundai Assurance Plan, though, it doesn't seem like the Nissan or Toyota assistance will be extended to those who are still in the buying process. Scroll down for press releases from both companies about their respective payment deferment programs.
Jaguar solution to keyless start could save lives
Mon, May 14 2018UPDATED: An earlier version of this story indicated the Jaguar keyless start function was meant as a safety feature, when in fact, it is meant as a convenience one and will not work as described if automatic stop/start is not engaged. Today, The New York Times published an article about more than two dozen deaths related to drivers accidentally leaving their cars running, closing their garages and later succumbing to carbon monoxide that flooded their homes. The reason has been identified as "keyless start" features, or proximity entry and push-button start, where owners don't need to physically handle a key or fob to gain entry into the vehicle or start it. It is the latest, and deadliest, issue raised with this system after those related to security and simple inconvenience (for instance, leaving the car at a valet or car wash with the fob in your pocket). From my personal perspective, The New York Times had a rather harsh "evil carmakers" tone throughout the article. This is not a matter of a known faulty component, as with the GM ignition switch recall. This has as much to do with user error where people leave their car without pressing the "off" button and without noticing the engine is still running. About half of the cars in question are produced by Toyota and Lexus, brands that have offered keyless start longer than most. They are also brands with high rates of elderly owners, who seemingly made up a majority of reported deaths and injuries. One fire department in Florida even started a campaign alerting those in the area of the dangers of leaving your car running when it noticed a correlation between an increase in cars equipped with keyless start and calls related to carbon monoxide poisoning. I see several contributing issues at play, most of which go well beyond this particular issue. First is insufficient training of owners by dealers and/or owners not paying close enough attention during this training. Cars are complicated, but you should at least know how basic functions work. Second, woefully inadequate driver training in this country. Third, and with apologies to the AARP, insufficient testing of elderly drivers and/or insufficiently low standards for elderly drivers. If you don't know you have to shut the car off or cannot hear that an engine is running, perhaps you shouldn't be driving. Fourth, re-examining keyless start systems.
