This is a very rare 1 owner 1965 fj40 california black plate survivor! I am pretty sure this was sold out of the Stancil motors dealership in placerville, a very well known dealership in the 60's. the original owner parked it in his backyard from 1999 thru 2011 when I purchased from a tow company who were asked to remove it from the property. they did a lien sale and I have all the proper paper work to reregister the vehicle. It retains its original california black plates. This is an amazing surviving example and would be easy to restore as every little detail is there. It still has its original koito headlights, radiator cap with chain, horns, horn relay with plastic cover, oil fill cap with chain, front drive lock out pin with chain, drivers seat release pins with chains, jack, handles, kkk lock on tool box, most of its original coral seat upholstry, rear jump seat straps intact , reading light, last year for the bifold top (complete with working hardware) This fj40 runs great, shifts smooth, stops fine,it even has tin master and clutch slave cylinders! Original big window asian idles perfectly.I had to rebuild the head due to sticky valves from the old fuel.I also put a newer gas tank in ( not correct but comes with the original ( needs to be cleaned and sealed but rust free) It retains its original paint paint so what you see is what you get ,no hidden rust or bondo. The rear sil does have the normal rust and the front of the right rear wheel well has a little rust through (see pic) other than that the body is rock solid as is the frame for a 49 year old vehicle. I dont believe the top has ever been off. Some of the lights and electrical need need work(wiring harness is in great shape) The only non original add ons were the front spot lights, rear add on tail lights in the top and a radio in the dash. It has a dealer heater all intact, rare pintle hitch and rear step, original rear lights and brackets(rare these days)It has an original dunlop rk3 spare tire that has never been on the ground as well as all 5 acorn hubcaps. These early fj40's are getting hard to find now and restored examples are now selling at auction for big bucks, you can enjoy as is or do a concours restoration of a classic fj40 that will only go up in value.I have too many landcruiser so its time to pass this on to the next enthusiest.this will be a NO RESERVE auction, high bidder wins! You must have good feedback to bid, look at my feedback it should look the same.Last vehicle I sold was a non paying buyer, please dont waste my time.I will help load onto shipper, and once paid for I can store it as long as needed. This is sold with a bill of sale and all proper lien sale paperwork to retitle(I do not hold a title in my name) there should be no issue getting a title. Located in the bay area california ( never been out of california) Please ask questions before bidding, good luck!!

Toyota bids farewell to FJ Cruiser with Ultimate Edition at SEMA
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Happy trails, to you... As we reported back in August, the FJ Cruiser is headed to the great automotive graveyard in the sky, and Toyota is offering a fitting eulogy in the form of the 2014 Trail Teams Ultimate Edition, which was just unveiled here at the 2013 SEMA Show.
Unlike many special edition models, the Ultimate FJ Cruiser earns its name with a host of parts from Toyota Racing Development, starting with TRD Bilstein race shocks that Toyota says improve damping, articulation and high-speed stability. The front shocks measure 66 millimeters and feature TRD race coil springs, with geometry that improves the approach angle; the 50mm rear units are equipped with remote reservoirs to diminish damping fade.
A new one-quarter-inch thick aluminum TRD front skid plate offers protection for the underbody bits, and the outfit is completed with a BF Goodrich A/T KO tires on 16-inch bead lock wheels, rock rails and a roof rack. Check out the high-res image gallery above and the press release below for all the rest of the details.
15 vehicles most likely to surpass 200,000 miles
Tue, Mar 8 2022Americans drive a lot. Collectively, we put, on average, more than 13,000 miles on our cars each year according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. Because of this, a vehicle's ability to travel long distances without major problems is a huge consideration when it comes time to purchase a new one. It's also worth remembering that keeping an older car on the road instead of trashing it and buying new can be considered an eco-friendly decision. After all, it takes a lot of resources to build a car. iSeeCars.com, a website that aggregates used car listings from all around the country, recently ran through the numbers on millions of vehicles that are currently on the road to determine which last the longest. Alternatively, you could choose to look at this list as vehicles likely to be driven by owners who travel long distances. Either way, we've laid out the top 15 vehicles most likely to hit or even surpass the 200,000-mile mark. It's important to note that while these are the vehicles that have stood the test of time up until today, we can't guarantee future results if you decide to opt for one of these from a current model year. That said, unless we specifically say so in the text below, we've used pictures of current models for illustrative purposes. Now, with all of that out of the way, scroll on down for the top 15 vehicles most likely to crest 200,000 miles. 15: Toyota Sienna 14: Honda Odyssey The 15th spot and 14th spot on the list of the top 15 vehicles most likely to surpass 200,000 miles are both minivans. Spoiler alert: They will be the only two minivans on the list. According to iSeeCars, 3.2% of both of these family haulers crest the 200,000-mile mark, making them the best bets for families looking to put a ton of miles on their machines. 13: Honda Ridgeline 12: GMC Yukon The next spot on the list is occupied by the Honda Ridgeline pickup truck with 3.7% lasting past 200,000 miles. Unlike any of the other midsize trucks it competes with, the Ridgeline is based on a unibody chassis. Opting for this more car-like structure — as opposed to a traditional body-on-frame layout — allows Honda's hauler to ride and drive more like a car. Up next is the GMC Yukon, also with 3.7% past the 200K mark, and the first, but very much not the last, big traditional SUV you'll see on the list. In fact, get ready to see a whole bunch of 'em, including several from GMC parent General Motors.
Toyota TRD Pro Chase Trucks are ready to hit the desert at SEMA
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Toyota marks the 35th anniversary of its Toyota Racing Development performance arm this year, and the division is celebrating at this year's SEMA Show with a quartet of tuned off-roaders based on on the 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra that look more than ready to go just about anywhere.
All four of them will take part in this year's Baja 1000 race, but only the Tundra (far left in the above photo) is actually competing. The other three will be there to act as support vehicles.
Inspired by the production TRD Pro Series trucks, the 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra are prepared by off-road fabricator N-Fab with a mix of TRD and the company's own parts to be able to take whatever the grueling, 1,000-mile can throw at them. The trio is fettled with extra communications equipment, GPS, additional lights and all sorts of body and suspension modifications to help them survive the ordeal.
