Selling this nicely resto-moded 1960 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ25. Yes it is
an FJ25 not an FJ40. Please note that this is NOT a stock all
original FJ25 so if that is what you are looking for this isn't it. The tub and chassis is FJ25. The axles and transmission/transfer case are from I believe early 70s FJ40. The engine is a small block Chevy V8, I believe it's a 307. I do not have the original engine or other
parts that were replaced. The previous owner got it incomplete missing several parts and basically pieced it together with parts he already had on hand such as the FJ40 drive train and Chevy V8 . It has a 3 speed tranny and power drum brakes. The resto-mod was done several years ago and
has been driven very little since then. It has always been stored
inside. It is very fun to drive and gets a lot of looks. And NO I am not
willing to sell pieces off of it so DO NOT ASK. If you know anything
about these you know they are very rare, even if it is not completely
stock. I will include a bunch of FJ40 parts I have acquired over the
last year (FJ40 Soft Top and frame needs repair, FJ40 soft doors, Stock
FJ40 roll bar with pads, rear jump seats, rear heater assembly, spare tire carrier, and some other misc. parts) if I sell it for my
asking price. No I do not have the original hard top and doors for it, those parts
are very rare and hard to find. I can provide more pictures upon request and please feel free to ask questions if you have any.
Reduced asking Price to $7,500 o.b.o. I will entertain REASONABLE offers, but Low-Ball offers will automatically be declined. I am not interested in any trades so please do not ask. I have found another vehicle that I want which is why I lowered the asking price on this one. I am motivated but not desperate. I will sell for $500 less if sold without the spare parts listed above. I reserve the right to end this auction early and without warning as this vehicle is also listed locally for sale. |

Subaru, Toyota refute reports of BRZ, 86 demise
Fri, Feb 1 2019After news broke of an anticipated Japanese report telling that the Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ twins were not long for this world, both carmakers have denied the cars' successors have been canceled. Carscoops reports that both Toyota and Subaru have stated they are developing next-generation cars. As a Subaru USA spokesman told Carscoops: "We do not endorse this report coming from Japan's Best Car. ... We are moving ahead with a next-generation Subaru BRZ, but have no further details at this time." The website also reported a similar statement from Toyota. With the models getting long in the tooth and no test mules having been spied, doubts are not unwarranted — remember just how long Toyota teased the fifth generation Supra before its 2019 debut. More information is not yet available, or whether the two brands will still collaborate to bring the new-generation coupes to the market, but for Toyobaru fans this might be grounds to breathe a sigh of relief. That would also mean, that if the hinted MR-2 revival is based on solid ground, there will be a full "Three Brothers" Toyota sports car portfolio for sale in the next decade. With the Supra offered also as a four-cylinder in Japan, it will be interesting to see if Toyota will retain the 86's current, slight power advantage over the Supra's 197-horsepower variant or respect the status of the bigger brother. Eiji Toyoda dead at 100
Tue, 17 Sep 2013Toyota has had number of chiefs over its 76-year history, but none ever served as long as Eiji Toyoda. The younger cousin of the company's founder served as president of the automaker from 1967 to 1982 and as chairman of the Toyota Motor Corporation for another ten years following the unification of the manufacturing and sales divisions.
During his 25 years at the helm, Eiji Toyoda (pictured above in 1967) was credited with establishing the company's headquarters in Toyota City, spearheading the development of the Prius, expanding production overseas for the first time, launching the Lexus brand and turning Toyota from a minor player into one of the largest automakers in the world.
Even after his retirement in 1992, he remained an honorary chairman and close advisor to his successors, and chaired the company's museum. He died of heart failure, ending a 100-year life that started on September 12, 1913, before the company that bore his family's name (albeit slightly modified) had even started building automatic looms, let alone automobiles. We extend our condolences to the Toyoda family and our congratulations on an accomplished life.
Toyota C-HR hybrid crossover coupe concept leak ahead of Paris
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Last week, Toyota previewed an upcoming concept called the C-HR and promised it would debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. It didn't say much more or give us anything beyond a silhouette and the shape of the lights, but here we have the first images of the finalized form.
The C-HR envisions a hybrid crossover coupe with angular styling that looks ready to take on the Nissan Juke. It's far sportier than a RAV4, and looks closer to how we'd imagine the next-generation Scion FR-S would look like if it were riding on a jacked-up suspension - with some show car elements thrown in for good measure, like a gloating roof, radical lighting and the usual absence of door handles and usable wing mirrors.
Of course, this being a Toyota concept, it packs a hybrid powertrain, although specifications did not leak out along with the images. Overall the form looks pretty striking, if decidedly unsubtle. We'll look forward to bringing you more as the Paris show rapidly approaches.
