2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser - Don’t bother bidding if you don’t understand what you’re getting yourself into.  You see, this monster can’t be reined in by just anyone.  No, this colossus on 4 wheels can only be harnessed by those of superior strength and virility. The first time I drove the Cruiser, a fully formed Viking beard spontaneously erupted from my face. I’m certain that lesser men’s heads would simply have exploded from the overdose of awesome.  Do not try to corral this demon unless you are completely sure of your manhood.

This behemoth is the definition of a mobile fortress, featuring an FMF front steel bumper and FMF rear steel bumper with tire holder, Rock sliders, Fender flares, and a 3” All Pro lift kit and new suspension. It’s rumored that the Cruiser is the secret location where the President and Vice President are kept safe during times of national crisis, but I can neither confirm nor deny this.

Dark outside? Cruiser don’t care. With Halo headlights and LED tail lights, it’s like a freaking solar explosion everywhere you go. Actually, that’s giving the sun too much credit. The sun wishes it could put out light like the Cruiser, but instead it just hides 92 million miles away. What a wimp.

I have never driven the Cruiser off road. Oh, but you could.  The Irok Swamper 35” tires on Pro Comp wheels can decimate any obstacle standing in their path. With the Cruiser’s Warn winch, you could have yourself a tug-o-war against a mountain. Just keep in mind that mountains tend to be sore losers. The Cruiser’s Safari snorkel also means it’s not afraid of a little mud and water. You know what is afraid? Mud and water. Entire rivers have been known to dry up in the Cruiser’s presence.

The Cruiser also has an aftermarket air compressor, factory rear locker and ARB front locker. The sole reason the Cruiser hasn’t seen offroad terrain is my serious concern for the wellbeing of the Alaskan wilderness. I doubt anything less than concrete and asphalt could withstand the raging inferno of manliness that radiates from this metallic monstrosity.

The Cruiser’s directed remote start also means you don’t have to leave your house to start this monster up. This isn’t your normal remote start system, though. It was painstakingly reverse engineered from the wreckage of the alien craft found at Roswell. Theoretically, this remote start could transport the Cruiser directly to Alpha Centauri in the blink of an eye. But the Cruiser simply refuses to teleport. Nobody knows why.

The Cruiser is formidable, only a chosen few can master it. But once you assert your dominance and gain the beast’s respect, the rewards you reap are truly beyond compare.

*I am required to inform you that pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding should not handle or be near the FJ Cruiser due to the dangers of too much testosterone. They probably shouldn’t even look at it. You’ve been warned.

I love this SUV and spent $65,000 on it. But due to having two other cars and some unexpected business issues I am forced to sell it. I have the clear title to the FJ with no lien on it.

If you want this inspected please contact me prior to bidding. I am willing to take it anywhere within Anchorage, Alaska to be inspected at your expense.

I purchased it in February 2012 so it has the remainder of the Toyota warranty on it. But due to serious modifications certain parts of the warranty are most likely void. The aftermarket parts are no longer covered under any warranty that I'm aware of.

Shipping costs are your responsibility. I have shipped cars from Anchorage to Seattle for $800 previously using Alaska Auto Transport (Google it). Of course please check with them, Wrightway Auto (the other local shipper) or your favorite shipper for shipping costs prior to bidding. They should be able to handle shipping nationwide. I'm happy to bring the FJ to any car shipper in Anchorage for you.

As the vehicle is driven once in a while there may be more miles on it than the listing. I also reserve the right to end this auction if I receive a legitimate offer either locally or long distance.

I expect a $1,000 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of you winning the auction. If this is not received I reserve the right to re list the vehicle. I expect the total amount within 7 days. I will accept wire transfer or certified check.

If you have any questions please contact me through Ebay. I will email you back or include your phone number and I'll call you right away.

Minivan market not what it used to be, but margins make up for it

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

Residual values for last year's minivans are higher than they were in 2000.
Much like the station wagon was the shuttle of Baby Boomer generation, the minivan has been the primary means of transport for Generations X and Y. Just as the boomers abandoned the Country Squire, though, those kids that were toted around in Grand Caravans and Windstars are adults, and they certainly don't want to be seen in the cars their parents drove.

Toyota and Subaru file patents for performance FR-S and BRZ

Wed, Nov 11 2015

People have longed for a more powerful version of the Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, and Toyota GT86 since the triplets arrived on the market. So far, neither partner in the deal has launched a model to fully satiate that hunger. However, the Japanese patent office recently approved documents from Toyota for the design of a vehicle that looks just like the Subaru STI Performance Concept (pictured above). According to AutoGuide, the filing also gives Fuji Heavy Industries credit for the design. The STI Performance Concept debuted at this year's New York Auto Show as an early step in STI's attempt to expand its reach here. The BRZ-derived coupe featured a body with a ground-scraping front bumper, tweaked headlights, wider fenders, a massive rear wing, and diffuser with a center-exit exhaust. All of these elements also show up on the patent renderings. The concept was just as exciting under the hood because STI installed a 2.0-liter, turbocharged boxer four-cylinder from its GT300 racer, and upgrades for the chassis, suspension, and brakes came from the Japanese market's BRZ tS. While the coupe made hearts race, the company was clear it didn't necessarily plan to build the model. Patent filings aren't a guarantee for production, and even if this one does arrive in showrooms, it might not come to the US. That's because Subaru and Toyota have a history of creating Japan-exclusive versions like the tS or Style Cb. That being said, spy shots have revealed a camouflaged GT86 testing in Europe, and rumors indicate more power from the engine. Subie's boss has even confirmed the existence of a partnership to create a next-gen model. Related Video:
