This is a neat little corolla , the interior is in very good condition , the carpets are rough in the front and not too bad in the back . The headliner is in great shape and the seats are still very good (the drivers seat has been redone and matches very well , the dash has some cracks in it and the passenger side windshield has a crack at the bottom of it . It did pass inspection and I have it with the car done on Sept.13 2013.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                The body has rust in areas , the worst is on the front fenders . The other rust I think can be sanded out without going through the metal . The motor and transmission seem to be in good shape . It had been setting for 2-3 years I got it started and drove it about 25 miles at 60 MPH and it ran fine . It has almost new tires and a new battery . Everything works on the inside , horn, radio, wipers, heater blower,  lights, (dash lights didn't come on ? Might be a fuse I haven't checked it but interior light works) .

It has a lot of paperwork with it . It has 2 of the original dealer flyers (they have been wet and the back page on both are stuck but the first couple pages are still good) . It has the Toyota Dealers List booklet , the new car Warranty page & card , the maintenance record booklet 3 booklets about radios and accessories, a imports restrictions pamphlet, A Popular Mechanics Car Care Guide for Toyota, a Toyota T & 2T engine repair manual, a World Parts Parts book and introduction letter also 2 round worldparts window stickers (I think they would still stick if used) , a Toyota 8R-C & 18R-C engine repair manual and the original service manual found in the glove box. It also has the Car invoice showing the new car price and the miles ( 9 ) at time of purchase . It also has the spare tire under the mat in the trunk in good condition and has the original tool kit in the plastic bag the came with it . It also has a Quart of the matching exterior paint I shook it and it still sounds liquid and is probably good to use,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       I have lots of pictures I can only list 24 or 28 with the listing though.      I will require a Paypal payment of $500.00 within the 1st 24 hours of purchase and balance in cash when car is picked up  or the bid will be canceled and the car re-listed. I am not trying to be mean but have had trouble in the past sorry.   I think the car would be drive-able but cannot guarantee it. Please use your discretion when deciding how to get it home.        Any questions please email to jjzrbc@yahoo.com .

Toyota and Mercedes begin the Super Bowl ad teases with dads and hares

Tue, Jan 20 2015

Advertising Age says pregame buzz is where Super Bowl advertisers really build momentum for their Big Game commercials, so let the teasing continue. We've seen the 30-second spot for the Lexus NX, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota are next out of the tunnel with campaigns that focus on a fable and fathers, respectively. The Mercedes tease gets former NFL wide receiver Jerry Rice lining up a talking-heads debate with eight-year-old Andrew Hunter about whether Hunter's hare could beat a tortoise in a race, but it's a disaster before it even begins. In what will be a continuing storyline, a social media component lets people side with #TeamTortoise or #TeamHare, with "a Big Race viewing party" going to a lucky winner. Mercedes also promises there'll be a hero at the end, which we imagine will something in the Three-Pointed-Star family as opposed to the Testudinae or Leporidae families. Toyota's all about the biological family, rolling out a series of tweets and Vine videos showing off ex-NFL'ers and their kids to hype the "One Bold Choice Leads to Another" campaign for the Camry. The profiled paterfamiliae will be examples of those "who have contributed to their families' lives in bold ways." A 60-second spot during the pre-game will feature Paralympic athlete Amy Purdy, then those stand-up dads will get their own 60 seconds during the second quarter. The social media tag for this one is #OneBoldChoice. You can watch Mercedes' opening salvo above, and check out a Toyota tweet with ex-quarterback Kurt Warner below. Toyota urges owners of old Corolla, Matrix and RAV4 models to park them until airbags are replaced

Mon, Jan 29 2024

DETROIT — Toyota and General Motors are telling the owners of about 61,000 older Corolla, RAV4, Matrix/ Pontiac Vibe models to stop driving them because their Takata airbag inflators are at risk of exploding and hurling shrapnel. The urgent warning Monday covers: Certain Corolla compact cars and Matrix hatchbacks from the 2003 and 2004 model years. RAV4 small SUVs from 2004 and 2005. Also covered are about 11,000 Pontiac Vibes from 2003 and 2004, which are essentially the same as the Matrix and were made at the same California factory. Most of the vehicles are in the U.S. “If the airbag deploys, a part inside is more likely to explode and shoot sharp metal fragments, which could cause serious injury or death to the driver or passengers,” Toyota said in a statement. Owners can go to nhtsa.gov/recalls and enter their 17-digit vehicle identification number to see if their cars are affected. If you're not the original owner of the vehicle, the manufacturer's recall letter might not reach you, so be sure to do the VIN check. The recalled RAV4s have Takata driver's airbags while the Corolla and Matrix models have them on the passenger side. The Corolla and Matrix also are under a separate recall because their airbags can be deployed without a crash, the company said. Both companies said owners should contact a local dealer instead of driving the cars in for repairs. Dealers will provide options such as mobile repair, towing the car to a dealer, or vehicle pickup and delivery. Takata used volatile ammonium nitrate to create a small explosion to inflate airbags in a crash. But the chemical propellant can deteriorate over time when exposed to high temperatures and humidity. It can explode with too much force, blowing apart a metal canister and spewing shrapnel. At least 26 people have been killed in the U.S. by Takata inflators since May 2009, and at least 30 have died worldwide including people in Malaysia and Australia. In addition, about 400 people have been injured. The exploding airbags sent Takata of Japan into bankruptcy. The potential for a dangerous malfunction led to the largest series of auto recalls in U.S. history. About 100 million inflators were recalled worldwide. Recalls Pontiac Toyota Takata airbag recall
