Up for sale is my 1998 Toyota Celica GT Convertible, I'm listing it one more time before it goes to the Junk Yard, I have to make room in my garage so If you see the value in it please take advantage of getting a great deal on this great car.
Recently my car was rear Ended and the labor cost was going to exceed the value of the car so I'm not able to afford to have the back repaired. It does not have a salvage title, but it is a "Revival Junk", This is what the DMV has it as right now. Basically it can be repaired if someone is willing to put the time into fixing it or want's to use it for parts or to part it out. It will be sold as a junk car and if you end up repairing the damage then you can go to the dmv and go through the steps of trying to get it inspected etc.. This car is fully running and in great shape besides the damage from the accident in the back. Under the hood the engine etc are all in amazing condition. The Car drives like a dream and Was taken such good care of. The car has been garage kept and well maintained. So if you are interested in it for parts or to repair or have any questions please email me before purchasing. If you are rebuilding a celica this is a great parts car, or if you buy it you can part it out and make more money off of it then i'm asking. I have seen used celica gt motors sell for 1,500+ dollars just in itself not including everything else under the hood along with exterior and interior parts and accessories so I'm going to have to take a loss on it because I don't have the ability myself to drop the engine out, the converter and everything else under the hood, because if I could i would make way more money doing that then selling it out right to someone, but I need it out of my garage so I can move on and put my new car in. The windows & glass are all original and in excellent shape, everything inside is original oem parts. I have been checking around and just finding any parts on a 1998 celica gt are so hard to find in great condition that the people whom are selling the doors and glass and fabric to the roof etc are making a killing on selling the parts. I know just the parts alone for the convertible top are super expensive if bought new, I know because I had to have new hydrolics put in when I first bought the car so the top would lay back flat and wow I spent 2500.00 just to get that fixed for parts and labor. If you buy parts new from toyota if they still have them you pay an arm and a leg for them so here is a chance to get these parts for a really great deal and fix up your own celica. I had an offer for 1850.00 just for the engine alone but as I can't part it out myself I had to pass. Just The back heated glass window alone people are charging 300.00+ dollars used. If you are considering parting it out the switches inside are all working great, you have all the interior and exterior parts from the mechanical parts to the doors, the fenders, front bumper, windows, seats, steering wheels, mirrors, floor matts shifter, alarm, switches, convertible top fabric to all the parts that make it function to sell, along with headlights, engine, wheels, tires are all in excellent shape, I could go on forever. Heavily updated 2015 Toyota Camry to bow in New York
Thu, 27 Mar 2014Looks like the new, "more emotional" Toyota Camry designer Kevin Hunter talked about back in January is going to arrive very soon, with news that Toyota's bread-and-butter sedan will be getting an update in just a few weeks time at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
"On April 16 at the New York International Auto Show, we will make an important announcement about America's best-selling car, the Toyota Camry," said Curt McAllister, Toyota product news manager, in an emailed statement. Considering the high-profile nature of the NYAS - not to mention the competition that will be shown there - it makes sense that Toyota would choose to unveil something as significant as a major refresh at the Javits Center.
We wish we had more to tell you than this, but unfortunately, that's about all we've got to go on at this time. Of course, we'll have much more for you during the lead up to NYAS, including any leaks of the refreshed Camry. Stay tuned.
2021 Hyundai Elantra vs. compact sedans | How they compare on paper
Wed, Mar 18 2020Despite the rising popularity of crossovers, the sedan market remains packed and fiercely competitive. It looks like it will stay that way with the introduction of the strikingly redesigned 2021 Hyundai Elantra. And since Hyundai was kind enough to provide plenty of specifications on the new car, we figured we ought to see how it stacks up to some of the latest and greatest small sedans on the market. For this comparison we picked the two best-sellers, the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, one of the other recently redesigned sedans, the Nissan Sentra, and a perennial enthusiast favorite, the Mazda3. Below you'll find a chart with all the raw numbers for your perusal. Following that will be our usual break down and analysis of the numbers and any other noteworthy features not included in the chart. Performance and Fuel Economy While the design and chassis are all-new on the Elantra, the base powertrain isn't. It uses a version of the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder shared throughout the Hyundai and Kia line-ups, and it's again paired with a CVT. With 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque, it's the second least powerful entry for conventionally-powered sedans, only ahead of the sluggish 1.8-liter base engine in the Toyota Corolla. For those looking for a peppy small sedan, the Mazda3's naturally aspirated 2.5-liter has the most power and torque, even ahead of the turbocharged Honda Civic's 174 ponies. On the other hand, the Elantra, which Hyundai says will have better fuel economy than the outgoing model, should get at least 36 mpg combined, and probably better, making it the most efficient non-hybrid of this group. For the best blend of power and efficiency, the Civic is likely the way to go, as its turbo engine can return 36 mpg combined in lower trims. If you want a manual transmission in this body shape, only the Civic and Corolla offer it. A manual transmission is available on the Mazda3 hatchback, and the turbo Civic can also be had with a manual in hatchback or Si forms. A new powertrain for the Elantra is the hybrid. It's unique compared to other hybrids in that it's coupled to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, rather than an electronically controlled CVT (which is not the same thing as a CVT) or something too complicated to describe in this sentence (the Honda Insight).
Toyota i-Road is no less strange in the flesh
Tue, 05 Mar 2013We've seen plenty of three-wheeled creations in our day, but none quite like the Toyota i-Road Concept. The "personal mobility vehicle" offers seating for two with driver and passenger positioned in a tandem position. While that may sound more like a motorcycle than a car, the closed cockpit means riders don't need a helmet. The design also takes a page from the 2008 Peugeot HyMotion3 Concept with an articulating front suspension that allows the driver to lean through corners thanks to "Active Lean" self-balancing technology. Unlike the funky Pug, however, the i-Road is a fully electric plug-in vehicle.
While there are just five-horsepower on hand from an electric motor, the i-Road should serve up a range of around 30 miles thanks to its lithium-ion battery, and Toyota claims the cells can be topped off in three hours with a "conventional domestic power supply."
