A very nice 1997 Toyota Celica GT Convertable. All maintenance for the last few years has been performed at a Toyota Dealer. Timing belt, water pump recently replaced. Tires at at 50% or better (good for a few years). Runs great, drives great, needs nothing to enjoy for the summer! Power top is in good to excellent condition and operates fine. The CD player recently stopped working but the radio works fine. Power windows, locks, tilt, cruise, ABS, AUTOMATIC. The Celica has alloy wheels, cruise, rear spoiler. The only reason I am selling the car is that I have purchased a motorcycle and drive it very rarely. This is a fun car that gets over 30 M.P.G. and is priced to sell. The car has not been smoked in while I have owned it. It does have a few minor flaws that I need to point out. The Celica has clear coat peeling from the left front fender and the paint on the hood and rear bumper is beginning to fade. The interior door panel on the drivers side has a small crack on the armrest. The CD player does not work but the radio works fine. 2014 Toyota Highlander

That's really too bad. With the ability to hold several hyperactive kids and tons of cargo while keeping everyone safe and comfortable in all kinds of climate conditions day in and day out, they're true heroes in the lives of hundreds of thousands of families across the country. Yet their car-apathetic owners often immediately forget about them as soon as their work is done. And nearly all midsize crossovers are thoroughly ignored by enthusiasts whose eyes begin to glaze over at first mention of the phrase "third row."
Toyota is looking to soften the blow somewhat by giving its midsize crossover, the Highlander, a big redesign for the 2014 model year. With a bold new look, updated suspension and a refreshed interior focused on comfort and convenience, Toyota aims to make the Highlander sportier to drive and more striking in appearance, because, as the marketing team explains, "families are going places and they want to get there in style."
Toyota recalling FJ Cruiser due to excessively bright headlights
Sun, 05 May 2013Now, hold on. This recall isn't quite as serious as it sounds. Yes, Toyota is recalling 11,489 FJ Cruiser models from the 2007 to 2013 model years, and yes, it's because the vehicles, as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states, "fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, 'Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.'" But read the fine print and you'll see the catch: This recall is only for vehicles fitted with the automaker's auxiliary lighting kit that can be mounted to the front bumper.
Basically, the auxiliary lamp assemblies use 55-watt bulbs, and when these are turned on in conjunction with the upper beam headlamps, it's a pretty blinding sight. NHTSA states that excessively bright lights can blind other drivers, increasing the risk for a crash.
To remedy the situation, Toyota will replace the 55-watt bulbs with cooler 35-watt units. The recall is expected to begin later this month. Scroll down for the full details in the NHTSA report.
Toyota launches new Pixis Epoch kei car in Japan
Sat, 12 May 2012Kei cars may be small in size, but they're big business in Japan. The latest arrival to the category is the little hatch you see above, the Toyota Pixis Epoch.
It's the fourth vehicle produced by the Daihatsu division but sold under the Toyota brand. As with other keis, power comes from a 660cc engine. It's mated to a continuously variable transmission driving either just the front wheels or all four. In both configurations, the Pixis Epoch features a stop-start system that helps its emissions and fuel efficiency figures come in well below even the Japanese government's stringent standards.
The whole package measures just 3,395 mm (133 inches) long, 1,475 mm (58 inches) wide and 1,500 mm (59 inches) tall, but offers a relatively spacious and utile interior, plus a tight turning radius of just 4.4 meters. Pricing ranges from 795,000 to 1.2 million yen - that's less than $10,000 (and no more than $15k). Further details in the press release after the jump.
