We at Campbell Brothers Auto Sales Inc. are offering for sale this CLEAN CARFAX, NON-SMOKER, 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID 4 DOOR with a 2.4L HYBRID ELECTRIC 4 CYLINDER ENGINE and AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. This vehicle was a local trade-in and has been very well cared for and exceptionally well maintained. I sold this car to the previous owners on 01/05/09 when at the time it had 38,262 miles on it. At that time it was a one owner in flawless condition. Since the second owners have processed the vehicle it has had nothing less than great care. How can we be so sure? Because not only are the previous owners great customers they are also my neighbors, and I have seen them take good care of everything they own for the past 26 years. The car now has 146,366 miles on it. therefore it is no longer flawless but never the less still a good looking, VERY clean car. The exterior looks nice and has no major dents or scratches. There are no sighs of previous paint or body work and it comes with a clean Carfax History report. Connie (previous owner) recently hit some type of small animal which resulted in some small dents and scratches on the right quarter panel (all seen in pictures). Japanese automakers ramping production for renewed American sales
Wed, 21 Nov 2012The 2011 earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan took quite the toll on the automotive industry in that nation. Not content to lean on that tragedy as excuse for slagging sales, the Japanese automakers are planning on a major production expansion in North America. The aim is to reclaim the market share lost from the Tsunami-based dip, and overcome a dollar/yen exchange rate that makes exporting to America unprofitable.
Following the Tsunami, Japanese automakers ramped up production in their North American facilities to compensate, but according to Automotive News, Nissan, Honda and others have all reported plans for still-further increased production in the year ahead. As part of this ramp-up, Mazda will open a facility in Salamnca, Mexico before March of 2014. Part of that increase in output is 50,000 units of a Toyota-badged compact car, which Mazda will produce.
Other Mexican production facilities opening include a Honda plant, which will open in Spring 2014 in Celaya, and a Nissan plant, set to open later this year in Aguascalientes. Nissan also said that it will need another plant in North America within the next five years. According to Nissan Boss Carlos Ghosn, the company aims to raise its stake in the US market from 8 percent to 10, and adding production will help achieve that goal. Even Mitsubishi is aiming to boost production at its Normal, Illinois plant. Production of the Outlander Sport is currently at 50,000, which Mitsubishi wants to raise to 70,000.
Toyota recalling 615k Sienna models over rollaway risk
Thu, 26 Sep 2013Toyota has announced a recall affecting approximately 615,000 Sienna minivans due to a possible rollaway risk. All of the vehicles in question are from the 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009 model years.
In an official statement, the automaker states that the problem stems from the vehicle's shift lever assembly. "Because of the potential for damage to the shift lock solenoid installed in involved vehicles, there is a possibility that the shift lever could be moved out of the 'P' position without the driver depressing the brake pedal," Toyota said. Because of this fault, the affected Sienna models could roll away without warning, increasing the risk for a crash.
Owners will be notified via first class mail, and the affected Sienna models can be taken to Toyota dealerships to have the shift lock solenoid replaced with a new one. Have a look below for the automaker's official release.
Toyota expects hybrids will soon reach 20-percent sales volume globally
Wed, 12 Mar 2014Hybrids have come quite a long way from their roots as dull, slow, boring ecomobiles. Today, Porsche sells three hybrid models, one of which is the amazing 918 Spyder. BMW will soon sell four, including a low-slung, two-seat sports car. Even Ferrari and McLaren, full-fledged hypercar manufacturers, are embracing the tech. And all of these cars are sold alongside the same sort of boring cars that popularized hybrids in the first place. According to Toyota Chairman Takeshi Uchiyamada, though, we should see an even bigger increase in the number of hybrid vehicles in the coming years.
"I foresee hybrid models pretty soon reaching 20 percent of global sales from about 13 percent to 14 percent now," Uchiyamada-san told Automotive News. Uchiyamada is the man behind the original Prius, which gives him some degree of authority on making predictions about hybrid adoption.
What's remarkable, though, is that the 20-percent figure doesn't include plug-in hybrids, just gas- and diesel-electric models. "Suppliers need higher volumes to slash costs of components specific to plug-in models, including batteries that should be bigger and more capable than the ones used in traditional hybrids," Uchiyamada told AN.
