 Built SAS 92 bobbed 4runner
 3.0 v6 with automatic
Transmission shifts VERY firm. No slushbox here. I was told it was rebuilt and shift kit installed thus it shifts very firm.
Typical check engine light has always come on/off but never gave me any grief for wheeling it. Most likely an 02 sensor.
o/d light for transmission flashes too if in o/d on the road for awhile. Again, never was an issue for me.

Has 4x4 innovation tube doors  (have 2 good front doors and 1 rear. Pass rear door got trashed against a tree)
Rear is bobbed and rear cab/window from pickup fabbed in along with tailgate.

Spent most of it's life out west and has seen no road salt since it's been here. Frame is solid.

Front axle housing from an early 80's truck has all the goodies. $3000 in parts in this front axle alone and less than 10 trips on it. Front axle is about as stout as you can build it.
 -Trail gear dirty 30's
 -trunion eliminators
 -6-shooter knuckles with ARP studs
 -full crossover hysteer kit
 -5:29 with ARB
-new trail gear HD 3" leaf springs (only 3 trips on them)

 Rear axle:
 -v6 3rd member with 5:29 & ARB locker
-chevy 63" leaf springs with extended shackles

ARB air pump all installed with seperate switches for front/rear lockers.
Custom heavy duty driveshafts by Jesse at High Angle driveline. ($800 invested in the pair of shafts)
8000lb winch
Diamond plate locking toolbox WITH key.
33x12.50 mud tires on 15x10 rock crawler wheels.
Could use some TLC, elbow grease and cleaned up if you want it to look nice or fire it up and hit the trails with it today.

Crawls very nice, eats rock gardens with ease and is a very capable all around 4 seat wheeler.
This thing flexes incredibly well. You'd be hard pressed to find a leaf sprung crawler that flexes as nice as this.
Starts runs and drives and has always been a very reliable machine.
Far from perfect but it's perfect for what is was built for. Dings, dents, peeling paint, some rock rash etc. A saturday of bondo and paint job would make it look nice.
This is not a highway vehicle. It will get you from point A to B but it's a trail rig and I do drive it locally around town as well as to/from trailheads to camp.
Comfortable top speed as it is, most likely around 60mph. (speedo not hooked up. Cable is there just not hooked up.)
It's a leaf sprung build so it handles pretty good on the road.
Lots of good parts here for the money.
The rig turns heads as it's not your average Jeep or Toyota that you see all over.
It's been a great rig but it's not practical for what I need at the moment.

Clean title.

2021 Hyundai Elantra vs. compact sedans | How they compare on paper

Wed, Mar 18 2020

Despite the rising popularity of crossovers, the sedan market remains packed and fiercely competitive. It looks like it will stay that way with the introduction of the strikingly redesigned 2021 Hyundai Elantra. And since Hyundai was kind enough to provide plenty of specifications on the new car, we figured we ought to see how it stacks up to some of the latest and greatest small sedans on the market. For this comparison we picked the two best-sellers, the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, one of the other recently redesigned sedans, the Nissan Sentra, and a perennial enthusiast favorite, the Mazda3. Below you'll find a chart with all the raw numbers for your perusal. Following that will be our usual break down and analysis of the numbers and any other noteworthy features not included in the chart. Performance and Fuel Economy While the design and chassis are all-new on the Elantra, the base powertrain isn't. It uses a version of the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder shared throughout the Hyundai and Kia line-ups, and it's again paired with a CVT. With 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque, it's the second least powerful entry for conventionally-powered sedans, only ahead of the sluggish 1.8-liter base engine in the Toyota Corolla. For those looking for a peppy small sedan, the Mazda3's naturally aspirated 2.5-liter has the most power and torque, even ahead of the turbocharged Honda Civic's 174 ponies. On the other hand, the Elantra, which Hyundai says will have better fuel economy than the outgoing model, should get at least 36 mpg combined, and probably better, making it the most efficient non-hybrid of this group. For the best blend of power and efficiency, the Civic is likely the way to go, as its turbo engine can return 36 mpg combined in lower trims. If you want a manual transmission in this body shape, only the Civic and Corolla offer it. A manual transmission is available on the Mazda3 hatchback, and the turbo Civic can also be had with a manual in hatchback or Si forms. A new powertrain for the Elantra is the hybrid. It's unique compared to other hybrids in that it's coupled to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, rather than an electronically controlled CVT (which is not the same thing as a CVT) or something too complicated to describe in this sentence (the Honda Insight).

When a Ferrari and a Toyota GT86 get jiggy, strange things happen

Fri, Jul 8 2016

Swapping V8s into small Japanese cars is not new. In fact, swapping V8s into small sportscars from anywhere is not new. From the original Cobra to the modern FR-S and BRZ, big V8 power in a light, lithe chassis has been delicious combination rivaling the Reese's peanut butter cup. People familiar with these swaps know that American iron is the preferred source for large-displacement grunt, but Ryan Tuerck and Gumout have taken a different route, specifically from Italy. Replacing the 2.0-liter flat-4 of this Toyota GT86 is a Ferrari F136 V8. Unfortunately that's about the only detail we really know about this project. The F136 was used in the F430, California and 458 Italia, and all with varying displacement and output. So we don't even know which of those variants this engine is. If it came from a California, that'd at least make the front-engine location easier to fabricate. No matter though, it's still a Ferrari engine in a small car, and that's awesome. And Donut Media, the company that produced the video, promises more details down the road. In the meantime, enjoy this video preview of the project. Toyota Camry, Lexus RX to get aluminum parts

Tue, 23 Sep 2014

Ah, aluminum. The lightweight, strong material has long held a following within the premium ranks, but as Ford prepares to launch an aluminum F-150, the material is gaining acceptance among more mainstream automakers. Toyota is one such brand, with a new report indicating that the Japanese giant will add aluminum bits and bobs to some of its upcoming vehicles.
These won't be full, aluminum-intensive treatments like the F-150, however. Automotive News reports that an aluminum hood and liftgate will be coming to the 2016 Lexus RX, and following that, the Camry will get a bonnet built from Element 13 for model year 2018.
As AN points out, Toyota is no stranger to aluminum, using it in Japanese-built models like the Prius and Scion FR-S. The RX and Camry, though, will mark the first time the company's North American factories will use the material, and they'll do so on a significantly larger scale, owing to the higher volumes that the Camry and RX represent.
