Hey Toyota 4-Runner lovers, look at this beautiful 1987 Toyota 4 Runner SR5 4x4.  This is a fully loaded model with all the bells and whistles! Everything works on the 4 Runner. Has a 4 cylinder 2.4L I4 EFI -SR5 with automatic
trans and 4wd works fine, power steering, power brakes with power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, cruise control, air conditioning, factory sunroof and tilt wheel.

Motor was rebuilt in March of this year 2013 by Tonka Engine Rebuilders in Santa Ana CA, has only about 3000 miles on new motor. Have receipt for the new motor we paid close to $1700.00. Also has new brakes system, calipers, brake disc pads, brake master cylinder. Also replace spark plug, spark plug wires, spark plug boot protector, distributor cap, ignition rotor, PCV Valve, air filter and new EGR Valve that cost $149.00, This is a California truck with no major rust issues. It has 167+ original miles. New engine runs strong and transmission shifts good. It has side steps rail bars, front and rear black bumper guards. Tow hitch and hitch receiver.

The truck has never been in any accident, the truck has a Salvage title because in 1989 the 4 runner was stolen! It
was salvage due to the theft recovery by insurance. Auto Check shows no reported accidents, no odometer problems, no fire damage, no hail damage, no water damage and no frame damage. Vehicle checks out.

It has never been off road. The truck body is straight except a few small dents, you have to look close to see them, normal wear. The biggest dent is on the passenger side rear quarter panel but not bad, other then that has a few small dings nothing bad (See photos) Lower part of paint and pin strips on side are original, the prior owner painted hood and top part of truck due to fading. Just this week something hit the corner of the windshield so has a crack but will replace with a new windshield once sold to the highest bidder. The power mirrors works but drivers side mirror has a crack on corner of the black part and mirror inside not the correct one. I was going to buy
a new one but never did.

It has a inside Roll bar with a removable rear top. All the electric windows works even the rear hatch window but rear window and molding needs to be adjusted because it squeaks when it is raises up and down. It has factory alloy wheels with full spare. Good Year tires are excellent condition with a lot of meat on them, white letters on the inside of the tires.

Interior is grey color and all original, looks excellent for this year, only few stains, normal wear. Dash board has a few cracks on the passenger side, nothing a dash pad won't cover. Back seat look nice with no rips but missing seat head rest, saw some on EBay for 60.00 for the pair.

You can drive this anywhere. This is a lot of fun to drive, especially in the summer when you remove the top. I got a lot of compliments on the 4 Runner saying this is the cleanest and nicest Toyota 4 runner they have seen on the road. These are very desirable Toyota 4 Runner models due to the removal top from the 1980's which they don't make anymore, these are collectors trucks now! I know its worth a lot of money but will set reserve at a good deal.

I really hate to sell the 4 runner but I need work to be done on my house before the rainy season comes, I have roof and plumbing issues that need attention, so this beauty has to go.

If you have any questions please ask before bidding, payment due within 7 days after auction. Please do not bid unless you are serious, if you want to look and drive the 4 runner we can arrange a time and date in Buena Park, California near Knott's Berry Farm so you can check it out and drive it. I feel this truck is worth every cent and more. I took a lot of photos, if you want more pics, I can e-mail them to you or send me your address and I can mail you a CD of all the photos!

Happy bidding! You will not be disappointed!

Which sinister Scion FR-S would you buy?

Tue, May 17 2016

Look beyond the utility. Look beyond the amenities, the infotainment, the hidden storage cubbies, and the 72-way adjustable seats. Yes, even the seats. Outside all the fluff of today's cars, there's a blank canvas waiting for an artist; cars can really come alive with a few tastefully placed modifications. These two Scion FR-S sports cars surely fall into that category, and when they both turned up on eBay, we figured we'd ask the question — which would you rather buy? The track-centric red car or the brutally simple black car ? Internet, you be the judge. The "widebody" look — with its outrageous fender flares and visible rivets—isn't for everyone, but this 2013 Scion FR-S happens to pull it off quite well. According to the listing, the pumped-up fenders, splitter, and additional aero bits are courtesy of legendary widebody purveyor Rocket Bunny. Overall, the racy body mods add a significant twinge of aggression to the once docile FR-S... a notion that's echoed underneath the hood. The heady Scion FR-S leverages an HKS supercharger system and exhaust, paired with a set of Buddy Club racing coilover shocks, Bee-R wheels wrapped in Yokohama ADVAN rubber, and a new engine management system. All in all, this looks to be one fierce track and street monster. RELATED: Check Out This Wild Toyota GT86 Wagon Concept But whereas the red car is a shout, the black car is a growl. Confident, powerful, yet restrained. The black 2013 Scion FR-S sports a sultry Varis Arising 2 body kit with carbon fiber accents lining its front lip and boot lid, as well as a brilliant set of projector headlights and Tom's taillights. The icing on the cake is the set of Work M1R gunmetal grey wheels, which come fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. There's no supercharger in play here, but the Scion's 2.0-liter boxer engine does breathe a bit easer thanks new ceramic coated exhaust headers and a high-flow catalytic converter. It can also handle a bit better too, courtesy of sporty Cusco Street Zero 3 coilover shocks. If we're honest, both are quite jaw-dropping in their own unique styles. But which do you prefer? See how Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell car is made [w/videos]

Tue, Feb 24 2015

Toyota kicked off production of the Mirai hydrogen fuel cell sedan at its Motomachi factory campus in December, and at the time the company had orders for 200 of them. In just the few months since then, demand has already jumped to requests for at least 1,500 of the potentially revolutionary vehicles. For the first time, the Japanese brand is taking viewers into the innovative model's production process and showing the sedate pace of putting them together. The line used for the Mirai was formerly home to Lexus LFA production. Like that low-volume, cutting-edge supercar, Toyota is prioritizing quality and precision for its fuel cell vehicle. At the moment, it's building just three of the sedans per day with a tight, dedicated team. According to Automotive News, there are just 13 people assembling the cars right now, and at most they could only complete 10 per day. The production process for the Mirai is more akin to a boutique sportscar than the high-volume efficiency Toyota usually shows. There's no belt moving them along, and instead each one is pushed between areas. With so much riding on these models, this approach is meant to guarantee an attention to quality. "These facilities are not so advanced. Rather, we rely on the work of our skilled employees. This is similar to how things were when Toyota was just starting out," said Toyota President Akio Toyoda during a ceremony at the plant, according to Automotive News. Toyota has released a gallery of images and five videos showing the major steps in the Mirai's production process, including the complicated installation of the fuel cell stack. Next Toyota Prius coming in 60-mpg 'Eco Grade' version?

Tue, Sep 23 2014

There's some mystery surrounding the fuel economy level of the next-generation Toyota Prius. The closest we've had to an official number is 55 miles per gallon, which was hinted at by Toyota Motor Corporation's managing officer, Satoshi Ogiso, last year. That number wasn't an official target, but the company even provided a graphic (above) showing how each next generation Prius beat the previous one by four or five mpg. Since the current, third-gen model gets 50, well, we have been left to guess that 55 is the next logical target. But, according to a new report in Automotive News, the new, fourth-generation Prius that's due next year will come in two versions, with one having a bigger ego – sorry, eco – than the other. AN says that the model will arrive with a standard nickel-metal hydride battery pack in a version that gets "about 55 mpg" and then a new "eco grade" version with a li-ion battery that "will be rated at more than 60 mpg." AN says this information came from company executives who were speaking at an August meeting with Toyota dealers. Our sources within Toyota say that they haven't heard anything about two high-efficiency models, so we'll take this with the requisite grain of salt. The current version of the Prius Plug-In Hybrid does use lithium-ion batteries, but this is the non-plug model the dealers are talking about. We think. The dual-battery strategy is certainly a rumor we've heard before. We had thought that the li-ion pack would be for an extended EV range (the current Prius has a barely noticeable EV-only range), but such a pack would be lighter and could boost efficiency, too. In other words, we look forward to hearing more during the upcoming auto show season.
