Up for sale is a 97 Toyota 4 Runner Limited this vehicle is in great shape with lots of extras. The Only Problems are as Follows This is my sons ride he was driving and struck a deer. It has the front end damage from that. We took it to our local body shop and they estimated to be around $1000.00 in parts for damage. This included Bumper, Grill, Headlights, and radiator. The hood and both fenders were not damaged so nothing would need painted. My son does not want the vehicle so i am listing it to be sold as is for parts or repair. Everything else works great transmission, engine, a/c, heat, and all power accessories. This vehicle also has 5 TV monitors inside 2 on the front visor 1 built in cd player and 2 in driver and pass head rests. It as well has alot of stereo equipment such as speakers and a custom built box and amps. Its has strobe lights inside and in the two head lights. This vehicle was taken to several of local car shows just for show and tell fun. It has good tires over half tread and a set of rims that cost approx $1000.00 they look a little rough but they just need cleaned as well as the vehicle. Its been sitting for around a year but started once to move just a short distance out of the way and it fired right up. It also has a very elaborate alarm system with a remote that shows why the alarm is going off and etc. This vehicle would make some young driver a good vehicle with just some parts and a little labor it would be good as new. happy bidding Thanks

177k Toyota Camry Hybrids being recalled for brake issue
Mon, 11 Aug 2014It looks like Consumer Reports might be getting part of what it wants regarding the Toyota Camry Hybrid and its braking system. Toyota is issuing what it calls a limited service campaign, rather than a full recall, covering about 177,500 of the hybrid sedans from the 2007 through 2011 model years because of an issue with the cars' brake fluid reservoirs.
The models have a filter separating two chambers of the brake fluid reservoir, and the part can get clogged over time. If this happens, the fluid level in one of the chambers can get too low and eventually cause the power assist to fail. There are multiple warning lights on the dashboard that illuminate over time if the filter gets obstructed, though. The company is replacing the entire reservoir with an improved unit, and the fix takes about two hours to perform.
Consumer Reports recently began asking for a recall on these models for the potentially clogged filters. The magazine also reported a second issue with the ABS brake actuator that could lead to a difficult to depress brake, but Toyota has increased the warranty on the part to 10 years or 150,000 miles.
Finalists for 2014 Green Car of the Year announced
Thu, 17 Oct 2013The list of finalists for the 2014 Green Car of the Year has been announced, and in a genuinely bizarre twist, there's only one hybrid and no electric vehicles among the five contestants, despite the arrival of cars like the BMW i3 and Tesla Model S. Taking the place of the EVs are a pair of diesels, repping a technology that last won a Green Car of the Year award in 2009, when the Audi A3 TDI took the title. No diesel was in the running for last year's award.
Naturally, both of the diesel finalists are fielded by the Germans - with BMW's 328d and Audi's A6 TDI getting the nod. In the case of the 3 Series, BMW installed a 2.0-liter, turbodiesel, capable of delivering 180 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, while returning 45 miles per gallon on the highway. Audi and its larger, 3.0-liter, V6 turbodiesel produce quite a bit more grunt, with 240 hp and 428 lb-ft of grunt, but net a very impressive 38 mpg on the highway in the A6.
Finalists for this year's awards include two diesels, three gas-powered cars and a plug-in hybrid.
