1992 Suzuki Samurai I have owned for most of the last 10 years. It runs and drives great. It is quite capable and is a lot of fun on sand dunes or on the trails. The engine was rebuilt about 3 years ago with new crank, valves, water pump, oil pump, starter, 55A alternator, Flex-a-lite fan, k&n air filter, rings, bearings, etc.

It now has an Optima red top battery and ceramic clutch less than one year old.

It also has an oversize radiator from an x90 and the temp sensor runs it perfectly even on hot Summer days!

The lift is a SPOA with 2" Rancho springs, scissor shackles in back, HD shackles in front, extended brake lines, over the top steering, and front Rancho adjustable shocks.

The drivetrain is a rebuilt transfer case with 6.5:1 crawler gears, It has solid poly mounts and a kong t-case cradle, The rear driveline is custom with 1 ton u joints and cv shaft, the front has a 1 inch spacer. The diffs are equipped with Lock Rite lockers for traction.

I put dual horns on for fun, It has a 2" body lift. The interior has an aluminum panel kit and quick removal doors. Also a tilt meter and altimeter plus digital clock and tachometer. The seats are from a Dodge and are WAY more comfortable than stock. The floor is bed lined , floor plugs recently replaced, still has hard to find package tray under dash. Includes original owner's manual.

Recent paint is Cobra blue metallic with Suzuki Platinum metallic trim. Two piece fiberglass hard top has new air struts on lift gate. Both bumpers are custom , front has a winch bumper ( I always ran a 9500 Warn ), rear has a 2" receiver and LED turn signals. Rear side markers are LED. Headlights are blue halogen aftermarket.

Two of my favorite mods are power steering from a sidekick and the brake booster and master cylinder from a WRX Subaru. SO MUCH EASIER TO DRIVE !!!

Also has a long tube header and turbo muffler. Please note that this is a fuel injected model and does not have all the quirks the carbed models  It runs really smooth at any angle. I just changed the oil and filter - ready to go!  The rear has a sport cage installed but it does not have a back seat currently installed. I have a matching spare tire and wheel that holds air. Sorry my camera is not better , some of the pics look blurry. All 5 tires are goodyear 33x12.50 MT , they work great and are fairly quiet.

I have done so much over the years to it , I am sure I will think of other stuff...the hood scoop is functional for instance...will try to list those as I think of them. The odometer does not have a 100000 place but I assume it has flipped. It seems to turn slow anyhow. The vehicle is from Florida so no rust to speak of.

Please email me questions or call between 8am and 9pm Mountain time 928-640-0631. As far as I know there is nothing really wrong with it, it does not leak or smoke. Everything pretty much works. It goes about anywhere you want and gets lots of attention with it's good looks. It is the most capable 4x4 I have ever owned - right up there with my locked up TJ on 35s. If you have never owned a Samurai they ride a bit rough and noisy. I have driven it over long distances and the bigger seats help a lot but it is still no Cadillac. I am located in Northern Arizona if you would like to look at it or drive it. Serious bidders only please , ask before bidding. I have 100% + feedback and for good reason. I expect a $100 deposit immediately after auction and the rest within 14 days. I would expect it to be picked up in a timely manner also. If the winner is in the 4 corners area I can deliver it within 250 miles of Page Az. Reserve is $4700. It is listed on the Suzuki Lightning site for $8995 and I will end the auction early if someone offers full price there. Thanks!

Suzuki: 'No comment' on returning to the U.S. with the Jimny

Tue, Oct 2 2018

It is impossible not to love the Suzuki Jimny. A prototypical cute ute, with equal parts cuteness and utility, it not only defined its segment, it became a cult classic. Now, it's back, but unfortunately unlikely to come to the American market as the Jimny, Samurai or anything else. "We have no comment on the Jimny or Suzuki returning to the U.S. market," says Nathalie Geslin, a spokesperson for Suzuki in France, from the floor of the Paris Motor Show, where the adorable Jimny made its recent premiere. "For that you'll have to ask Suzuki headquarters in Japan." In France, this is what is known as Le Brushoff. Geslin did confirm that, in the markets around the world where the Jimny will appear, it will be available only in one spec: an adaptable, RWD/AWD, closed hardtop with a manual transmission with available Low range, and powered by a 102-horsepower 1.5-liter gasoline engine. "Suzuki has eliminated diesel motors from their whole range," she said, a notable move and a trend flowing from the fuel's immutable high particulate and noxious gas emissions, and growing global sensitivity to their effects. Actually, she tells us, there will be one other spec. "In the Japanese market, there will be a Kei Car version, an actual smaller Kei Car, which means it will be powered by a motor of less than 600cc." Just 1,500 of these cars are expected to be sold in the French market, mainly to people who, according to Geslin, are not off-reading aficionados, but "People who go off-roading in their normal life, who live in the mountains or work in an area with rugged conditions." This sounds to us like a description of every small-scale goat cheese producer in the White Mountains in rural Vermont, every boutique mountainside vintner in Sonoma county, every yellow micro-beet farmer in the Wisconsin Dells. And all of us who live in four-season climates and love the outdoors but think a Jeep is perfect except that it's a third too large. Like the Jeep, the Jimny is retro cool without being retro. It is just itself. And we need it. If it takes only 1,500 potential buyers in France to allow it to be sold there, how many does that translate to in America? If all of us start emailing Suzuki headquarters every day to beg for it, maybe we can find out. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Land-speed racer Bill Warner dies from motorcycle crash at 285 MPH

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

Motorcycle land-speed record holder Bill Warner died yesterday after crashing during an attempt at setting another record. The 44-year-old was clocked at 285 miles per hour on the runway of a former air base in northern Maine, before he lost control of his modified Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle and veered off the runway.
It is not known what speed he was traveling when things started to go wrong and unclear what caused the crash, which happened shortly before 10:00 AM. Warner's crew suspect there were mechanical difficulties on his last run, in addition to a slight breeze, according to the video news report. Warner was conscious and able to speak after the crash but died an hour and 15 minutes later at a hospital in Caribou. The event and runway were closed for the rest of the day as police investigated the incident.
Warner was participating in "The Maine Event" at Loring Air Force Base in an attempt to reach 300 mph in one mile. Warner's best land-speed record, set in 2011, was 311.945 mph in 1.5 miles on the same runway, according to the Loring Timing Association, a record that still stands today for open-cockpit motorcycles. After that run, Warner said the scariest part was stopping the bike before the end of the runway. Be sure to check out the video news report after the jump.

VW, Suzuki mulling rekindling relationship in face of legal battle

Sat, 27 Jul 2013

Volkswagen and Suzuki have been undergoing marriage counseling in a bid to avoid finalizing their nasty divorce. The blissful union has been troubled for some time, with Volkswagen claiming that it could affect operational decisions at Suzuki, and the Japanese brand's sniping and constant flirting with a certain Italian temptress causing rifts.
The matter first went to court in 2012, when Suzuki demanded VW get out, and leave its 19.9-percent stake in the Japanese brand in a box to the left. Now, Automotive News is reporting that the company will give the relationship one last shot, according to closed-door dealings between the two in London.
Still, it's understood that VW and Suzuki recognize the benefit of their alliance, and that it'd be in the best interests of the kids both parties to make things work. Spokespeople declined to comment to AN, but the newsmagazine spoke with Frank Biller, an analyst for LBBW in Stuttgart, who said, "Both companies stand to benefit if they can overcome the disagreements over leadership claims."
