This is very common for these vehicles. There is some bondo in the back fenders as well. This rig is set up to be driven and enjoyed and is not a show car. It is recommended you come and inspect this car in person. If you buy this car, you are buying this car as is, no exceptions what so ever will be given."

Up for sale is a 1991 Suzuki Samurai. It is set up to go in the woods and wheel with the best of them. The motor and trans was rebuilt 6000 miles ago by the previous owner. The car has some wear and tear, dents, spots, so on and so forth. This is not a show piece, it is meant to go out in the mud and keep up with the big boys out there. There is substantial motor work done to it, as well as many other odds and ends. The car looks good from 10' (feet) away. Definitely could use a paint job, but if your buying this for what I bought it for, that prob is the least of your concerns. On the opposite side, if you are looking to restore it, I dont think it would take to much, just realized it is gear and torqued for the mud. You can do 60 mph no problem and drive on the highway, but after that it is not built to drive 80 miles an hour. By the same token, you will not be getting stuck in the mud to much and snow will become your new best friend. The car has plenty of power and is definitely fun to drive. I will list below everything I know has been done to it. I am probably missing some things I cant think of, If you have any questions you are more than welcome to ask. I cannot stress this enough, the car is being sold as is, it runs fine and everything is in order, but I dont want anyone not to realize what this truck was used for. The sammy was built right and I hope the winning bidder will enjoy this rig as much I have. I am only selling because I bought another samurai that is bigger. Just dont want anyone to buy this truck thinking they are getting a show car.

Suzuki's Paris display is a sad reminder we don't get quirky little Japanese cars anymore

Thu, Sep 29 2016

The fun thing about foreign auto shows is getting to see all the cars we don't get at home. In the case of Suzuki, it's a reminder that the brand withered in the US and withdrew due to a lack of product a few years back. What makes it even tougher is that Suzuki's stand in Paris is full of little all-wheel-drive things that would probably do really well in the US now. Talk about bad timing. Take the Ignis above. This thing is about the size of a Mazda CX-3, offers all-wheel drive, and manages to look cute and sophisticated at the same time. Americans would buy it. The SX4 S-Cross, which evolved from the SX4 that did surprisingly well a decade ago in the US, gets an update this year and looks a lot more like a crossover, an improvement on the original funky tall-hatch design. If only Suzuki could have held on a little longer the brand might be taking some sales from Subaru and the many makers of little crossovers. We can't leave here without mentioning the wonderful beigeness of the Cervo hatch that Suzuki brought out to tie the Ignis in with its heritage. It's a rear-engined three-cylinder two-stroke with a Giugiaro-designed body. Yep. The model was never sold in the US, but it was known as the Whizzkid in the UK, which is just fantastic. And its adorable tiny wheels – they looked like 12s or so – are pretty highly stylized. They're actually mirrored by the five-pocket wheels available on the Ignis, which is a nice touch. This is the facelifted Suzuki SX4 that we won't get

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

The car you see above is, according to China Car Times, the facelifted Suzuki SX4 crossover. We've always had a soft spot for the SX4, so the fact that it's finally getting a significant update makes us a wee bit sad - after all, Suzuki just announced late last year that it's leaving the US market, so we'll never get this upgraded little 'ute on our shores.
Changes we can see include aggressively resculpted lighting units, interesting mold lines on the front bumper cap, redesigned air intakes and unique trim fillets on the doors.
At least we can take solace in the fact that there apparently aren't any significant alterations under the new bodywork, so our crop of used SX4s should be just as capable out on the road. In China, Suzuki's 1.6- and 1.8-liter four-cylinder engines are expected to carry over to the new year, along with the current model's CVT and manual drivelines.

Suzuki Authentics Concept is genuine but drab

Sat, 20 Apr 2013

Looks can certainly be deceiving. Have a glance at this new Suzuki Authentics concept, for example - we were told that this would, essentially, be a proper sedan version of the new SX4, but our folks on the ground in Shanghai tell us it's actually much larger. Like, bigger than the Kizashi. (Hey, remember the Kizashi?)
Regardless, Suzuki says that the Authentics concept previews a C-segment vehicle for the Chinese market. A good move, too, since that segment has the highest volume in the Chinese market. (That's why automakers like Ford, for example, have more than one offering in the class.) If we're honest, the Authentics concept looks a bit "meh" for our tastes - there isn't a whole lot of emotion going on here with the design. Consider it a competitor for that spiffy new Ford Escort that also took the stage here in Shanghai.
We don't have any more details about the Authentics concept at the moment, but considering the fact that Suzuki has officially exited the US market, at least we don't have to worry about this thing showing up on our shores anytime soon.
