This is the super fun fantastically cute Smart Fortwo car - made by Mercedes in France!

Original owner moving out of the country so need to help this much loved car find a new owner.

Miles per gallon is near 40! Save big on gas with the 8 gallon tank.

It is in much loved condition, no accidents, super reliable, smoke-free and garaged the entire 4 years and used only about half the miles of a car this age. You only need to get the car serviced once per year - no oil changes or other service required - once a year is it, and this car has been serviced yearly at the local Las Vegas Mercedes dealer and given a clean bill of health (records included).

It has never had any mechanical problems that disabled it, never towed, only one clogged intake valve that caused it to run rough till we drove it to the dealership. We used a trickle charger to keep the battery topped off when travelling (included with purchase). Car software version was upgraded to 2.03 at the dealership for smoother shifting patterns.

This car is exactly 4 years old this month, so even though it was purchased during the 2010 model year, it is a 2009 model because the dealer sold 2009 models as new at that time. Dealer was Smart Center Las Vegas.

Car features the safety cell design with a roll cage surrounding you and 8 air bags for maximum protection, don't let the size fool you - this car is safety rated. Roomy inside, quiet driving, and holds several pieces of large luggage behind the seats. Tall drivers will see it is quite tall and easily seen in traffic - you will get noticed and people will talk to you when you drive this cutie! You can also park it on the street facing the curb as it is only 8 feet long, making a parking space where there was none before.

There is a hard to notice shallow scratch on the passenger side door that probably could be buffed away by a car detailer. Otherwise, no known issues with the car other than normal wear. Runs great in TWO directions - forward AND reverse! Fantastically easy to park and run around town, works great for the Las Vegas desert and AC is cold.

Transmission is dual mode - you can leave it in automatic mode if you prefer it simple, but if you want a sportier and smoother experience, use the manual shift mode, where you simply tap the stick forward or backwards to change gears, no clutch. So much more fun to drive that way, as well as smoother shifting if you let off the gas a bit before switching gears. Has incredible power and speed for a 3 cylinder gas miser, and does very well on highway drives all the way to Los Angeles and San Diego on cruise control.

The radio was installed by Frys Electronics and can play music from AM/FM plus audio-in for your cell phone (headphone cable included), USB and SDRAM memory sticks.

The license plate registration expires at the end of May so will need to be renewed upon receipt. License plates will come with the car as i have no vehicle to transfer them to.

Includes webbing to keep grocery bags from falling forward behind the seats on a sudden stop

Suzuki Samurai lives on with new Jimny facelift

Thu, 15 Nov 2012

The Suzuki Jimny is "sold across 188 global markets," but one of them isn't ours. For UK buyers who can buy a Jimny in SZ3 or SZ4 trims, the 2013 model has just been introduced with tweaks peppered throughout the vehicle. First among them is a soft redesign up front, a new bumper, grille and hood updating the face and adding an extra 30 mm to the length of the little SUV. Breeze Blue metallic paint is a new hue but it's only available on the more expensive SZ4.
Inside, customers will find new headrests and ISOFIX child seat fasteners for both Jimny versions, and for the SZ3, new seat fabrics. The 1.3-liter engine with variable valve timing growls out 84 horsepower and 81 pound-feet of torque, returning 39.8 Imperial combined mpg if fitted with a manual, 38.7 Imperial mpg combined in the automatic.
On-the-road prices are £11,995 ($19,016 US) for the SZ3, £12,900 ($20,451 US) for the manual-equipped SZ4, £13,800 ($21,877 US) with the automatic. More information can be found in the press release below.

Suzuki Jimny pickup concept heading to Tokyo Auto Salon

Thu, Dec 27 2018

Some of the best news this year is coming at the tail end of 2018. Suzuki's Jimny is already pretty awesome, but for the upcoming 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon, Suzuki is preparing something quite special for its little off-roader: a Jimny pickup! Suzuki based the concept on the Sierra trim level. The truck is designed to be an active sidekick for customers who need the convenience of a pickup for either DIY stuff or adventuring. The retro style is immensely cool: gold bodywork, wood sides, different grille, light bar, white roof and matching white wheels with chromed hubcaps — the entire thing is like a 1970s Suzuki aftermarket parts catalogue applied to a new Jimny. The cab has been shortened to ditch the rear seats, and a short bed has been tacked on without lengthening the wheelbase. If you ask us, the wheelbase even looks shorter than stock. Accompanying the pickup is a "Survive" concept that looks ready for adventuring. The stock bumpers have been replaced with sturdy metal ones that improve the approach and departure angle. There's also an external rollover cage, a winch, custom wheels and some Defender-style aluminum diamond plate. Suzuki says the Jimny Survive has been outfitted for traversing "severe nature" under extreme conditions. We'd happily take both of these mountaineering or even for a weekend trip to the cottage. While both of these trucks are obviously concepts, they show the direction where a Jimny owner could feasibly take their truck. And since some earlier generation Jimnys have been available as pickups, it's not totally improbable to imagine a production Jimny pickup somewhere in the next decade. Here's hoping. Junkyard Gem: 1985 Chevrolet Sprint

Thu, May 21 2020

For in the 1985 model year, General Motors began selling Chevrolet-badged Suzuki Cultus hatchbacks in California. Sales of the cheap three-cylinder econobox in the rest of North America followed soon after (with the Canadian version known as the Pontiac Firefly), and did pretty well considering the crash in gasoline prices during the middle 1980s. Starting in 1988, the facelifted Sprint became the Geo (and, later on, Chevrolet) Metro. Here's one of the very first Cultuses sold on our shores, found in a San Francisco Bay Area car graveyard. Amazingly, the primitive rear-wheel-drive Chevrolet Chevette remained available all the way through 1987, competing with the thriftier front-wheel-drive Sprint in the same showrooms. For 1988, Pontiac started selling a rebadged Daewoo LeMans, so the Sprint/Metro never lacked for intra-corporate competition. Inside, you'll find the same stuff most mid-1980s Japanese econoboxes got: tough cloth upholstery and long-wearing hard plastics. Suzuki quality in 1985 wasn't quite up to Honda or Toyota levels, but you weren't paying Honda or Toyota prices for the Sprint. MSRP on this car started at $4,949, or about $12,000 in 2020 dollars. The cheapest possible 1985 Chevette cost $5,340, while a new no-frills Ford Escort would set you back $5,620. Subaru, however, could have put you in a punitively unappointed base-model Leone hatchback for just 40 bucks more than the Sprint that year. I think I'd have sprung the extra for a $5,348 Toyota Tercel, a $5,195 Mazda GLC, or— best cheap-commuter deal of all that year— the $5,399 Honda Civic 1300 hatchback. I was 19 years old and driving a Competition Orange 1968 Mercury Cyclone that year, and I recall feeling pity for Chevy Sprint drivers, new-car smell or not. Still, these weren't bad cars for the price, though a Sprint with an automatic transmission was a real character-builder. Got three cylinders and uses 'em all! 48 horsepower from this hemi-headed SOHC 1-liter. The Turbo Sprint — yes, such a car existed — had a howling 70 horsepower. The hood-latch release is a rectangular button that resembles a badge. 1985 Chevy Sprint Commercial The highest-mileage, lowest-priced car you can buy. 1985 holden barina commercial The Australian-market version was the Holden Barina, and the TV ads featured the Road Runner. 1983 SUZUKI CULTUS Ad In its homeland, this car got screaming guitars and a drive through New York City for its TV commercials.
