To begin with this Tintop Samurai was brought up from Georgia so the beginning foundation was solid with minor surface rust if any , no rot no soft spots nothing like that . Engine was replaced with a 1.6 8 valve using Trail Tough full circle adapter and heavy duty mounts , Weber 32/36 carb that has been tuned correctly , Header running thru a full exhaust system with flowmaster muffler,power steering with cooler ,electric cooling fan with adjustable t stat, low Milage transmission and transfer case , all mounts , universal joints and such are in good condition . 5.12 gears with rear having a spool locker , both axles have been completely rebuilt with newer brakes , OTT steering from Rocky Road, a custom built suspension using Old Man Emu springs front has longer rear spring with missing links and the rear has Calmini boomerang shackles , extended braided brake lines , long travel shocks front and rear . Interior is all stock and not perfect as far as material this includes rear seat and the original headliner is intact . This is a JX model with factory tach dash cluster .

The original paint is faded and has some blemishes and a few dents . A full DOM roll cage has been built for protection on the trails . All lights , wipers , heat and turn signals work . The 33" tires are in great condition . 1.5" Wheel spacers have been installed.

This is a solid built Samurai as it is a 1987 and mostly the body and interior are original it does show signs of age .

All fluids have been changed recently les than 10 miles including brake fluid flush ,power steering flush , all gear lubes and oil changed .

This Samurai will run 70 mph plus in fifth gear with no problem .

Suzuki previews Crosshiker, X-Lander, Hustler ahead of Tokyo

With the Tokyo Motor Show looming on the horizon, Suzuki has revealed a trio of concept cars it will present at the expo.
First up is the Crosshiker concept, a compact crossover that looks good enough in metallic red, but in its essence reminds us of the oft-maligned X-90 convertible crossover coupe. Based on the G70/Regina concept, the Crosshiker packs a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine into a compact form that weighs just 1,785 pounds.
Next comes the X-Lander, which strikes us as a smaller take on the formula espoused by the Isuzu VX-02 or Land Rover DC100 Sport concepts. Unfortunately based on the Jimny, the white X-Lander incorporates a 1.3-liter engine with a robotized manual and four-wheel drive into a high-riding, chopped-windshield convertible sport-ute form.

Suzuki testing Grand Vitara replacement that is now forbidden fruit

Suzuki might be dead in the US, but its cars are still thriving in many other markets. Aside from the updated SX4 and a slew of promising concepts at the Tokyo Motor Show, Suzuki is getting ready to launch a much-needed replacement for the aged Grand Vitara, and our spy photographers recently caught the compact SUV testing in Sweden.
Judging by these spy shots, the replacement for the current Grand Vitara - it may or may not retain the Grand Vitara name - will take its styling cues from the Suzuki iV-4 Concept displayed at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show. These cues include the narrow, angular headlights, the sloped D-pillars and we even get a hint of the sculpted rear-wheel arches. We hear that the new Suzuki SUV could go on sale in Europe next year, so we'd expect it to debut later in 2014.

American Suzuki Motors is leaving us, but as long as the lights are on at YouTube, its commercials will stay behind to remind of the times we shared. We dug up nine commercials - sort of like a Time Life infomercial for an entire brand - and among the starring actors are the X-90 improving the 90s with the help of a Pez dispenser, the Peter Pan-ish Sidekick, Optimus Prime getting his pipes all smoked up over the 1987 Samurai and an XL7 that would have sold in the millions if its commercial were even half true.
We've also included a remarkably oddball eight-minute featurette/commercial about a giant Suzuki Swift. You'll find the retrospective in the videos below. Enjoy.
