It does have a few little scratches and the tail gate has a small mark/dent that is between the spare and the handle. The extra doors have a few scratches from being moves around. Brakes and steering are a little touchy from being lifted."

I bought this for my son and he doesn't like it. It looks great and is a real head turner. When i bought it, i was told the mileage was org but i can't prove it, it shows 57,014 right now. The interior is new, it has racing front seats and seat belts and the rear seat was redone to match. The carpet is new and the stock roll bar has had bars added to the rear for safety. The door panels are all diamond plate aluminum and has a matching steering wheel. The paint is a few years old and the hood has a little fade from the sun but it's not bad. It does have a few scratches and a small scratch/dent on the tailgate. The frame looks solid and over all the body looks good, the floor looks like it has two patches in the front out by the rockers but it was fixed nice.

It's lifted with a standard spring over axle swap with some blocks and after market shackles. The shocks are in good shape and it has longer steel braided brake lines all around. The steering has a dropped pit man arm and it's a little touchy. The stock drive shafts have spacers. I'm guessing the gearing is all stock, it starts off great but by the top of 2nd the tire size catches up with it and it feels like it needs more gear in it. It will do 60 mph in 4th when on the highway. I don't think it was ever used off road, more of a mall cruiser.

I have two tops for it, one is a bikini top and the other is a denim full top with clear windows. Both are in great shape. I also have a nice set of jeep style half doors that are painted to match and both have matching alum door panels. They are done right with the top cap. The inside of the cab has been sprayed with a type of bed liner. The fender flares look very nice and are mounted well. The rims are 10" wide American Racing wheels and the tires are Firestone Firehawk RMT 33x12.5r15lt's. I also have extra door glass for the half doors. The glass on the truck is in great shape.

The engine is all stock, it runs great and doesn't leak or smoke. The stock carb works great the choke even works. The exhaust manifold has a very small crack but the exhaust from the engine back is newer 2" with a chrome tip.

If i was going to keep it, i'd install a header, maybe a Weber to clean things up and a high steer set-up. And depending on what you want to do, gearing.

The reserve is realistic and will sell with a clean title once it's met.

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Geo Metro LSi Convertible

Sat, May 14 2022

Americans lost the ability to buy a new Detroit-made convertible starting in the 1977 model year (unless you count aftermarket conversions), not regaining it until drop-top Chrysler K-Cars showed up in showrooms in 1981. This gave convertibles a certain magical quality that lasted for quite a while here, and so it seemed to make sense for GM to offer an open-air version of the Geo Metro. Here's one of those cars, spotted in a self-service yard in northeastern Colorado. The Metro was really a second-generation Suzuki Cultus, successor to the 1985-1988 Chevrolet Sprint. While a four-cylinder engine became available in the later Metro (which got Chevrolet badges when the Geo brand got the axe in 1997), all Chevy Sprints and early Metros got this 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine. You're looking at 55 Suzuki horsepower here. The XFi version of the Metro (not available with a convertible top) managed to get better than 60 highway miles per gallon with an engine rated at 49 horsepower. There was an automatic transmission available… for 465 bucks (about $993 in 2022 dollars). That would have added nearly 5% to the cost of this $9,740 car ($20,805 today) and killed the fuel economy, so nearly all Metro buyers got their cars with three pedals. Do you like simple instruments in cars? You'll love the Metro! This one is good and rusty, with some really scary corrosion underneath. I think it sat in a field, buried to the axles, for many years. However, the bra tells us that it once had an owner who loved their then-shiny red convertible. No 1991 competitor could offer a new convertible with a price tag even close to that of the $9,740 Metro LSi. Oh, sure, a ragtop version of the wretched Yugo was available in 1990 and maybe 1991, but that doesn't count. A new Miata cost $13,800 that year, with a Mazda-based Mercury Capri going for $12,588. The 1991 VW Golf Cabriolet cost $16,175, and prices for convertibles just got higher with other competitors. This content is hosted by a third party. Suzuki design chief discusses Tokyo e-Survivor SUV concept

Tue, Nov 7 2017

Underdog Suzuki is one of the more mysterious Japanese brands. Rarely talked about, or indeed self-promoted, it quietly sold nearly 3 million vehicles worldwide in 2016 (alongside sister brand Maruti), and Suzuki has made some intriguingly original cars in recent years. Take the cute-but-tough Ignis city car SUV or the boxy-but-compact Hustler minivan, plus quite a few more. Autoblog took the chance to catch up with the automaker's relatively new head of design, Akira Kamio, at the recent 2017 Tokyo Motor Show to discuss Suzuki latest e-Survivor SUV Concept, plus his personal inspirations. The 54-year-old Kamio – whose design back catalog includes the concept and production Splash city car and second-generation Vitara small SUV, among others – says the beach-buggy-on-steroids show car "imagines a 2030 autonomous car with electric motors within each wheel on a ladder frame." That's a long way out in conceptual terms, as some of the vehicle's futuristic details suggest – rim sections that change color from green to blue according to mode aren't strictly necessary – but there is solid functional thinking to some of its more outlandish elements. Case in point, the see-through doors – long a staple of concept-car design from Italian masters such as Giugiaro and others – have been rendered here in a forward-thinking way. "When in autonomous mode the door glass goes opaque for privacy," Kamio said. "But when in off-road mode, the door glass automatically clears again so the driver can see the obstacles around it to help maneuver over rough terrain. This feature works on the model; it's a serious concept." As to the most relevant element of the e-Survivor's design for nearer-term vehicles, Kamio points to the five vertical slots with the Suzuki "S" logo in front of the center slot. A familiar design cue of the classic Jimny SUV, here this graphic is illuminated and set behind a black-tinted perspex-like cover. Kamio would not be drawn on when the next version of that long-running vehicle would arrive. But given that the third-generation version of the Jimny has been in production since 1998, the mark 4 is long overdue – even by the standards of Jimny's long manufacturing cycles – and is widely expected to arrive in 2018, taking proportional and design detail cues from the e-Survivor.

Suzuki Jimny transforms into an adorable tiny Ford Bronco

Tue, Jan 7 2020

The Suzuki Jimny may be impossibly cute as-is, but there's also something about the baby SUV that begs to be dressed up to look like other vehicles. Suzuki has decked out the Jimny in Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen kit, a theme the aftermarket did one better, creating a mini G63 AMG. Now, Japanese tuner Dream Automotive Design and Development (DAMD) has unveiled a body kit that gives the diminutive off-roader the appearance of a vintage Ford Bronco – called, cheekily enough, the DAMD Dronco. The retro baby-blue exterior is set off by a white roof, white steel bumpers, and white steel wheels. A new headlights-and-grille unit gives the Jimny a Ford family face, and a roof ladder at the rear completes the picture. The Dronco joins the company's other Jimny efforts, the vintage Land Rover Defender-inspired Little D and the baby G-Wagen Little G. We can't wait to see what the chameleon-like SUV turns up as next.
