For sale here we have my Subaru Legacy GT wagon. Unfortunately, I
have too many cars for the area that I live and am in need of getting
rid of at least one of them.
As the description shows it is a 2005 Legacy GT Wagon with a manual 5 speed transmission. If you have looked at any other Legacy's you may know how hard it is to find a GT model wagon with a 5 speed manual transmission. They were only made for a short period of time and I searched for quite a while to find this one before I bought it. You get all the fun perks of the turbo and manual transmission like a WRX but the nice classy interior and quiet ride of the more luxury Legacy. And the added versatility of the Wagon, yes the seats do fold flat and it holds quite a bit of stuff. Long enough for most people to sleep in if needed. Some specifics; - 86,295 miles on the Odometer. This may go up slightly due to showing the car. - VIN: 4S3BP686X56356069 - Title is clean and clear and I have it in hand. No need to deal with waiting on a bank. - Typical wear and tear for a 9 year old car. Some dents and scratches and it appears the rear bumper was repainted at some point but was repaired nicely - 2" trailer hitch for and towing you might want to do - Not modified with many aftermarket parts like some of the other Subaru's you may see for sale. - All weather floor mats and normal floor mats Please contact me at 980-355-2512 with any questions and I will be more than happy to answer them, and the vehicle is available for viewing at most any time if needed. Before bidding on this vehicle I would appreciate it if you spoke with me first via telephone if you plan on purchasing before having a physical look at the car. A bid is a commitment to buy and the vehicle will not be sold for less than the agreed upon price. The vehicle is only available for local pickup, a non-refundable deposit of $500 is due within 24hrs of auction end, the vehicle must be picked up within 72hrs of auction end, and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time due to the vehicle being for sale locally. Bids from buyers with less than 150 transactions will be deleted. Please contact me at the the number listed above if this is an issue. Thank you for your time and happy bidding! |

Junkyard Gem: 1992 Subaru Loyale Wagon, with Budget Cargo Carrier
Fri, Nov 10 2017Before there was the Impreza, there was the Leone. Sold in the United States at first as, simply, The Subaru, the Loyale name appeared on the last few years of the third-generation Leones. Here's a final-model-year example of the Loyale wagon in a Denver wrecking yard, complete with rust, outdoorsy-activity-themed stickers, and interesting homebuilt plywood upgrades. These cars weren't quite as sturdy as their successors, but this one reached the magical 200,000-mile mark during its quarter-century on the roads and trails of Colorado. For some reason, there's a mid-1990s Mazda Miata M Edition badge on the tailgate. Some Colorado Subaru dealerships sell "Rocky Mountain Edition" option packages, so perhaps this was the Loyale owner's way of joining the exclusive club for owners of Subarus with snow-grooved floormats and ski-friendly roof racks. In keeping with that theme of homebrewed upgrades, this car has a plywood version of the roof-mounted cargo carriers so popular with local Outback owners. Sure, it's a bit heavy and the lack of paint reduced its lifespan, but it got the job done. The skinny twine holding the box to its plumbing-pipe mounts looks a bit scary; I'd hoped to see some hefty lag-bolts going through the roof's metal into the box's underside, but did not find any such hardware. Tailgating this rig would not have been advised. Inside, a sturdy wooden floor covers the rear-seat and cargo area. Just the thing for lots of bicycle parts or camping gear! It's those little details that make an installation like this work best. A tire receipt from last year shows that this car lived in even-more-Subariffic-than-Denver Boulder, and that it was still running and being maintained in the recent past. Unlike nearly all retired Subarus of this era that I see in Denver junkyards, this one has not a single cannabis-dispensary sticker on the dash (in stark contrast to, for example, this THC-saturated '84 GL wagon). None of that lung-capacity-destroying weed for this Subaru, no sir— just healthy outdoor adventures! You could still buy front-wheel-drive Subarus in 1992, but this one is an all-wheel-drive car with 5-speed manual transmission and 90-horse boxer-four engine. This content is hosted by a third party. 2019 Subaru Ascent, 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe earn highest IIHS safety ratings
Thu, Sep 20 2018Two important crossovers introduced this year, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe and 2019 Subaru Ascent, have finally been crash tested by the IIHS, with both receiving a Top Safety Pick+ rating. Both crossovers earned the highest score of "Good" in every crash test, including the tricky passenger small overlap frontal test. Each comes with forward collision prevention technology that adequately warns the driver, and can bring the car to a complete stop before hitting an object at speeds up to 25 mph. View 72 Photos One of the other key tests to merit the Top Safety Pick+ award is headlight performance. In this case, each gets a "Good" rating to earn the award, but there's a caveat. Only high-end versions of each vehicle have highly rated lights. On the Subaru Ascent, the "Good" headlights are LED units on the Limited and Touring trims, and the Hyundai's are LED units that come with the Limited and Ultimate trims. The lower trim levels of both vehicles come with halogen headlights. The Ascent's halogens were rated "Poor" for not providing enough illumination while also causing glare for oncoming drivers, while the Santa Fe's lights were rated "Marginal," the next highest rating from bottom, for simply not illuminating enough, but they didn't cause glare. View 65 Photos While this doesn't apply to a Top Safety Pick+ rating, the Subaru Ascent has one additional commendation. The IIHS also evaluates how easy it is to access LATCH anchors for mounting child seats in a car, as well as how many there are. In this case, the three-row, family-friendly Subaru received the "Good" rating and a "+" for having extra anchors for more placement flexibility. The two-row Santa Fe just received an "Acceptable" rating in this regard, the second highest rating from IIHS. Related Video:
Subaru punches out 15 millionth Boxer engine
Wed, Feb 18 2015It's a small milestone for our favorite manufacturer of gold-wheeled, all-wheel-drive sedans and crossovers, as Subaru announced that it has built its 15 millionth Boxer engine – a mere 49 years after it installed a tiny, horizontally opposed, four-cylinder mill in the 1966 1000 sedan. The milestone engine powers something a good bit larger than the 1000, which was (ironically considering Subaru today) the brand's first front-drive vehicle. Today's boxer, the so-called FB25 2.5-liter four, was built for the current Legacy and Outback. The 15 millionth Boxer hasn't been the brand's only accomplishment in 2015. The company built its 14 millionth Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system just last month. Subaru has only been at its trademark AWD system for 43 years, and with sales going the way they are, it seems only a matter of time before the Boxer engine is surpassed. Related Video:
