for sale is my 2005 atlantic blue pearl Subaru Legacy GT Limited all wheel drive 5 speed manual 2.5L turbo with 167k miles on it. It's currently being used as a daily commuter but it could use some work. It has been a great commuter car for me for the past 40 thousand miles that I have had it. This car is great in the snow. It has a clear title with no red flags on the carfax history(I looked at the carfax when I bought the car). I have decided to get a car with an automatic. The clutch was replaced by the previous owner right before I bought the car. The clutch that the previous owner put in was a performance clutch and is fairly stiff. It is to stiff for my liking but it didn't bother me to much because I was commuting on the highway a lot and didn't use the clutch much. The previous owner claimed to have replaced the turbo at 100k miles with a more reliable 16g cartrige but didn't have a receipt and I have no way to tell if it was actually done by looking at it. The exterior of the car, body and paint is in really good shape. The interior is in great shape too.

Maintenance and new parts: I had 4 new tires installed last fall, 9/2013, and they still look fairly new. 4 new break rotors with new pads installed 9/2012 @ 143k miles, along with break fluid change. Timing belt & water pump service 6/2012 @ 136.9k miles along with an accessory belt replacement and all new coolant. The A/C compressor was replaced in may 2012. Only full synthetic oil used along with high quality oil filters used.

Imperfections: There is one good scratch on the front left bumper. The windshield has a really long crack in it. It has the power heated seat option but the heat on the drivers seat doesn't work and i'm not sure the passenger side does. The plastic power seat adjustment control for the passenger side was broke off, the seat can still be adjusted. It runs very rough when it is cold and will stall when engine is cold especially when it is cold outside. When it warms up it run good and strong. It doesn't have any check engine lights on and it passed emissions when I renewed my registration last year. There is a rattling sound like something is loose when you are coasting, let your foot off the gas. The right rear power window doesn't work. I have a replacement window motor for it, I never use the rear windows so I haven't bothered to pay to have it put in. None of these items stop the car form being used and I have been using it as a daily commuter car for a while.

I routinely put several hundred miles a week on this car and wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere.

It has the following features/options/parts:
- Power sunroof
- Power windows
- Power door locks with keyless entry
- Power heated side mirrors
- Heated wiper option
- Compass
- Outside temperature, miles per gallon, clock & trip time indicator
- In dash 6cd changer, am/fm radio, & i-pod connector aux (non oem that plays through the cd option)
- Power heated seats(non working)
- Leather interior
- Cruse control
- Antilock breaks
- HID
- Clear bra
- Spare tire, jack & tow hook
- Subaru rubber floor mats

This car has been very reliable and I'll be happy to deliver the car within 150 miles of northern colorado, may be willing to go further. Otherwise pickup is the responsibility of the winning bidder.

All sales are final

Full payment required withing 3 days of auction closing unless otherwise arranged.

Subaru WRX STI Type RA NBR Special is nearly as fast as a Porsche 918 Spyder at the Nurburgring

Fri, Jul 21 2017

Subaru now claims to have the fastest sedan to circle the Nurburgring. Its (deep breath) WRX STI Type RA NBR Special finished a lap of the famed German racetrack in an incredibly fast 6:57.5. That's just half a second behind the Porsche 918 Spyder hypercar. Of course, this WRX STI is a specially-built racecar, a rather distant cousin of the WRX STI Type RA production car that takes its name from this race car. The Type RA NBR Special is an upgraded version of the car Subaru took to the Isle of Man time trial last year, where it broke Subaru's old record. The car was built by Prodrive, and it features a 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four made for rally use. It now makes over 600 horsepower at 8,500 rpm, which is 50 more than it made last year. The aerodynamic aids have been updated, and they provide 650 pounds of downforce at the car's top speed. The car still has the power-adjustable rear wing from last year. At the press of a button, the driver can change the angle of the rear wing to reduce drag and increase speed on straights. Supporting the power and aerodynamic upgrades are 9-inch wide slick tires at each corner, and a rally-spec sequential transmission that can shift gears in 20 to 25 milliseconds. Related Video:

Subaru Germany sends off BRZ with 100-unit Final Edition

Wed, Mar 18 2020

Both the Subaru BRZ and its Toyota 86 Sibling have been confirmed to have an impending second generation (well, confirmed before the pandemic), which means it's about time to start warmly saying goodbye to the current models. They deserve it, because although many will remember the sports cars for their lack of power, they should be remembered as affordable, sharp-looking, flickable sports cars with rear-wheel drive, manual transmissions, and an extremely fun chassis. As first reported by Motor1, Subaru Germany is sending the BRZ off with a limited-run Final Edition. To start, no, the Final Edition does not have any powertrain upgrades. In Germany, the 2.0-liter remains the same at 197 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual is the base transmission setup, while a six-speed automatic transmission will cost an extra $1,850.  The Final Edition improves where most of the other BRZ and 86 special editions have improved: handling. Subaru added Sachs shock absorbers and Brembro brakes with red-painted calipers. Surprisingly, the BRZ keeps its 17-inch wheels rather than adopting the available 18-inchers. The standard paint for the Final Edition is Crystal Black Silica, not picture here, but the WR Blue Pearl shown above costs the equivalent of an extra $109. And buyers will want to get the blue paint, because the inside has blue accents. The gearshift lever, door trim, instrument panel, and leather steering wheel all have blue stitching. The front leather-and-Alcantara seats are blue and black, while the rear seats are all black, and the floor mats have blue BRZ logos on them. A Final Edition interior badge notifies occupants of its special nature. The most significant part of this release is its limited availability. The Final Edition will be held to 100 units for the German market, which will have an instant collectible on its hands. Before destination, the list price will be the equivalent of about $43,800.

Next-gen Subaru WRX STI spotted at the N"urburgring

Tue, 16 Apr 2013

Subaru has been busy testing the next-generation WRX STI. Well, it may be the STI. The big wing out back lends some credence to that theory, but it could be that the basic WRX is getting new action in the back section. Time will tell.
In either case, spy photographers nabbed a few shots of the heavily camouflaged sedan running around the Nürburgring. Unfortunately, it looks as if Subaru has taken some of the sexy out of the WRX Concept we saw at the New York Auto Show, leaving this car looking more derivative of the current model than a revolution in design. The bold power bulge has disappeared from the vehicle's hood and the lower fascia looks far more demure than the the wild concept. Likewise, the muscular rear fenders have been toned down substantially.
The result is a car that looks more like a mildly warmed over version of the current model than a production version of the WRX Concept. Still, engineers and designers may have a long way to go before the finished product hits the market, so we'll reserve final judgement for now. After all, the early BRZ mules were nothing short of a travesty to look at, and we know how that turned out. Hope springs eternal.
