Up for sale is my lightly modified 2008 WRX in World Rally Blue.  I bought the car in December of 2011 with 50,884 miles and the car currently has 82,519 miles and mileage will increase as it is daily driven.  House expenses, and finding something bigger to accommodate my dog, are now a priority so unfortunately it’s time for me to sell.  I love this car and am very meticulous when it comes to service/maintenance.  The car has a clean Carfax and has a warranty through Warranty Solutions (purchased through Riverhead Bay Subaru) that runs thru 1/17/16 or 99,010 miles. Warranty has a $100 deductible.  I have receipts for EVERYTHING.

  • At 60,854 miles a hub bearing was replaced under warranty
  • At 62,023 the power steering rack was replaced under warranty.
  • At 78,294 the driveshaft and rear differential were replaced under warranty.
Aside from the above, the following maintenance has been performed:

  • Timing belt and Water Pump were done at 62,750.
  • Oil has been changed every 3,000 miles with Mobil 1 and OEM Subaru filter.
  • Tires are rotated every 7,000 miles.
  • When I bought the car I had Power Slot Cryo rotors installed in the front with Hawk HPS pads. In the rear are OEM rotors with Hawk HPS pads. Also had Teflon coated stainless steel brake lines installed.
  • Had new spark plugs installed upon purchase of the car
  • New battery was installed last winter
The car has the following modifications:
  • Invidia downpipe WITH Catalytic Converter
  • Borla exhaust
  • Hella WRB supertones
  • Cobb Heat shield
  • Dyno Tune from Vinny Ten Racing. Car makes 235 HP, 289 ft. lbs torque @ 16 pounds.
  • OEM Roof rack
  • SPT Carbon Fiber Trunk trim
  • Alpine Navigation System with iPhone hook-up (iPhone 4S and earlier/earlier iPod)
  • Alpine Speakers
  • Car has tinted windows
Car will be sold with Cobb Accessport V2, OEM downpipe, 2 sets of floor mats (OEM fabric and OEM All weather), 3 Subaru keys, OEM horn, as well as other parts laying around that I will include.

Car was inspected in January and the oil was changed as well. Will have the car detailed before buyer takes possession.
Exterior is in good shape. Front bumper is scuffed on the lower passenger side. Also driver side rear door has scratches in the clear as someone opened their door into my car. Other that that is has typical wear and tear. Interior is in very good shape, I am a non-smoker and try and clean the car once a week.

Car gets between 20 – 22 MPG and currently runs great. Only has a few issues, none of which are mechanical. The alarm doesn’t work, has a viper alarm and every time the alarm is set it displays the trunk open on the remote and the alarm goes off. I just lock the car manually. The Map/Nav menu on the Alpine head unit doesn’t display, however everything else displays properly. I am assuming it’s a loose wire/connection. Car needs a new windshield as well, will have fixed before car is sold.

Please contact me with any questions

I Will not ship the car.  Willing to meet within reasonable distance, contact me if interested and we can work out the details.

Thanks for looking!

Spy photos show 2017 Subaru BRZ facelift

Tue, Mar 22 2016

As it transitions to the Toyota 86, the Scion FR-S isn't the only version of the joint Toyota/Subaru sports car that's getting a facelift. The BRZ is getting a nip and tuck, and here's our first look. Posted on the FT86Club forum are pictures of what appears to be the 2017 Subaru BRZ, hot on the heels of the recently-revised Toyota 86. The changes look rather subtle, but stand at least to keep the Subaru model up to pace with its Toyota counterpart. And for those less than enamored of the new curves applied to the 86, these updates may just be enough to tip the balance in Fuji Heavy's favor. The front end appears to keep the same grille shape as the existing model, but the vents on either side of it have changed, with little winglets bisecting. Gone are the auxiliary lights, apparently integrated into the new headlights that pack fresh elements. The taillights appear to be updated in similar fashion as well. Inside more auxiliary controls are now integrated into the steering wheel in front of the instrument binnacle with a new set of gauges. There's seems to be a new infotainment head unit in the dashboard and some updated interior trim as well. Of course the big question will be whether the refreshed BRZ will get any boost in power or other mechanical upgrades like Toyota's given the new 86, but for that we'll just have to stay patient for the time being as look forward to seeing the Toyota version in the metal at the New York Auto Show this week. Just a video of dogs driving Subarus

Fri, Mar 20 2020

Apparently, seven out of 10 Subaru owners have dogs. Since the brand has been catering ads to the many such demographic niches that tend to find it appealing since the 1990s, it's no surprise that dogs have been featured prominently for the last decade.  Subaru even has a video vault of all its pet videos dating back to 2009, but as you can see, it was in 2014 when Subaru really leaned into the dog thing. That was when the Barkleys were introduced, a family of golden retrievers who own and drive a Subaru. Additional campaigns followed in 2016, 2018 and 2019. Some are poignant, many are funny and all are adorable.  So, although you can certainly peruse that Subaru Loves Pets video vault, you can also just watch the compilation put together on the YouTube above. Or, alternatively, watch some behind-the-scenes outtakes below.   This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
