2004 Subaru Impreza STI

You are bidding on a 2004 Subaru STI.  This vehicle features the turbocharged 2.5 liter engine the puts out 300hp.  Coupled with the all wheel drive and the 6 speed manual transmission, this car is very fun.  The car has power windows, power locks, cruise control, Keyless entry, and cold A/C.  The STI comes with 2 keys, 2 remotes, owners manual, STI booklet, and the original window sticker.  The car is stock with the exception of a perrin cold air intake, perrin upper and lower radiator hoses, a Defi gauge package, and a JVC CD/DVD player head unit with bluetooth audio.  The Perrin accessories and defi gauges were installed by Mastro Subaru in Tampa, where most of the service work on this car has been performed.  The Defi gauges have boost pressures, exhaust temp, and oil temp.  Mechanically the car is perfect.  It has recently had new tires, timing belt, water pump, all timing belt pulleys and tensioners, serpentine belts, OEM spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, power steering rack, alignment, battery, and slotted rotors.  This car does not leak any fluids, burns no oil, and runs great.  Inside and out this car shows very well.  I have a clean carfax report, and title in hand.  The exterior does have some flaws, which is to be expected for a car of its age with the original paint.  There are a few minor door dings and scratches, of which I have tried my best to show in the photos.  The windows are tinted, and the rear glass does have some bubbling under the tint.  The car does not have any rust anywhere as  you can see from even the underneath pictures.  The interior is in good condition as well.  It does have some wear on the top of the steering wheel, there is a crack in the drivers seat height adjuster lever, and the rear seat does have a few spots on the bottom cushion.  Overall this is a very nice looking and driving car.  It has been well maintained, and everything is in working order on the car.  If you are looking for a car that doesn't need any work, and you just want to drive it to enjoy, this is the car for you.  I do drive this car a few miles daily, so the mileage will slightly higher.  I have tried my best to list any imperfections about the car.  If you have any other specific questions regarding the car please feel free to contact me, and I will do my best to answer your questions.

Buyer is to make a minimum of $500 non refundable deposit no later than 7 days after auction.  The remaining balance is to be paid by certified bank check.  Buyer is responsible for scheduling and arranging pickup of vehicle within 20 days of the end of this auction.  This vehicle is being sold as is, as it is a used vehicle.  Inspections are welcome, please contact me to arrange.  Please bid only if you have the intention of purchasing this vehicle.

Strange iPhone discovered in guy's Subaru sparks internet mystery

Wed, Apr 19 2017

Things can get pretty crazy on the internet, and even the smallest thing can catch people's attention and blow up in an instant. A lot of it is totally bogus or blatant attention seeking, but that's what makes the internet great. Well, that and cat videos. Recently, a story popped up on the internet that is both cool and real. It's the story of a mysterious iPhone, some pro-tier internet detective-ing, and the Takata airbag recall. The story started innocently enough. A guy named Alex Tom took his trusty '09 Subaru Forester into the shop to replace a faulty passenger side airbag under the Takata recall. When he picked the car up, there was a white iPhone 4s sitting on his dashboard. Thing is, the phone wasn't his. The phone was stone dead, but took a charge and booted right up. To complicate matters, it was locked and stuck in airplane mode. When he asked the shop about it, they said they found it behind the dash under the airbag. So now he had a mysterious phone that he couldn't get into to identify. So, like any modern tech-savvy individual, he turned to the internet for help. He posted a picture of the phone on Facebook along with a message asking for help tracking down its owner. What followed was a long, rambling, often hilarious collection of facetious advice, earnest help, photoshops, dumb memes, weird off-topic screeds, and everything else you might expect in a comments thread. Eventually, after getting a name from the phone and enlisting the help of an online dating site, the owner was found and the mystery solved! I'm not going to spoil the ending for you here, because you really need to read the whole saga for yourself. Lets just say that our man Alex had the answer with him all along, and the real treasure was the friends they made along the way. Subaru WRX and STI meet at the dyno with interesting results

Wed, 26 Feb 2014

Road and Track recently put the 2015 Subaru WRX and the 2015 WRX STI through a battery of dyno tests to find out not only how much difference there is between their two engines, but what kind of differences there are. The WRX gets the company's new FA20 2.0-liter boxer four-cylinder engine with features like a twin-scroll turbocharger, direct injection and variable valve timing on its two cams. The WRX STI stands pat with the older EJ-Series motor, meaning a 2.5-liter boxer four-cylinder with port fuel injection and carryover turbo lag. Subaru pegs the $26,295 WRX at 268 horsepower, 258 pound-feet of torque and an "extremely conservative" 0-60 mile per hour time of 5.4 seconds. The $34,495 STI clocks in at 305 hp and 290 lb-ft with a 0-60 mph time of 5.1 seconds. Ok, fight.
R&T's dyno runs sussed power numbers at the wheel of 223 hp and 245 lb-ft for the WRX, 247 hp and 243 lb-ft for the STI, then went on to demonstrate in numbers what everyone knew: that the WRX consistently puts out more of its torque earlier than the STI and achieves full boost almost three seconds quicker. On the other hand, on the track, the STI was also shown to have a conservative official 0-60 mph time, stopping the timer at 4.8 seconds compared to the WRX's 5.2 seconds.
The mag says it has comprehensive results coming from its "complete battery of tests," but for now, you can scrutinize their dyno charts and let the battle continue about which one you'd rather put your money down for.
